What a gem of a pub. Wonderful, friendly welcome from the staff. Fantastic decor and atmosphere. I had the pulled pork Korean bao buns that came with a huge bowl of chips. I cannot recommend this dish enough. It was truly delicious and I'm so pleased I decided to have something different.
Fabulous Sunday roast and excellent value, the beef was amazing, lots of different veg and the pannacota excellent. Really friendly and happy staff with beautiful views.
We booked a table for a Saturday lunch as we’d read the good reviews. Friendly welcome, good selection of ales and cider, plenty of choice on the menu with a few twists on the traditional pub choices which we liked (though plenty of options if you want traditional pub grub!). Food was great, generous portions and very tasty. We’d definitely come back again!
Lovely village pub with a nice friendly chatty Land lord (good atmosphere), its
BIG SCREEN T.V. Fine for big sporting events coronation ect as long as it's off the rest of the time .
Our walking group was a little disappointed that old lunch time favorites like sausage & mash /ham egg and chips etc were missing from the lunch time menu but the food on offer was good, and price's were reasonable, all in all well worth a visit + a very nice drive to get there what's not to like .
What an amazing place. Beautiful location and scrumptious food. Probably the best meal we had in our 7 days in Devon. Lovely hospitality and great cider 👍 if we ever visit Devon again we will definitely be visiting here.
We booked this for a celebration meal on my son's 21st birthday (which I had said when booking the table). The food all round was excellent, my son chose the Bridford inn because they do a veggie pakora burger and he was very complimentary about it. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is no one told me when I booked the table that there would be the Rugby being shown all evening on a large screen in a small pub. Luckily the weather was warm enough in October to sit outside and eat, and the barman was very helpful. I would have preferred to have been told when booking for a celebration meal, to know that they were showing Rugby as we are not a sports family and it definitely impacted on our family occasion. I would however, happily return for such good good quality food.
What an absolute gem of a pub, the food is amazing, all local produce and cooked to perfection, if you love a Sunday roast after a long walk then look no further as this is a belter of a Sunday roast, the service and the welcome from Dean & Lynn is second to none, give it a go you wont want to leave.
After arriving without a reservation for the Sunday carving on a bank holiday weekend, we were received with open arms and were quickly shown to a beautiful table. After a welcoming story of the owner (who is a ex-professional rugby player, mind you!) the superb staff went all out showing us their varied menu. We ordered the Sunday roast with a perfect Yorkshire pudding which all tasted as wonderful as the friendly faces and welcoming smiles of both the owners and the ever smiling waitresses. It seems lovely to work here. The crumble with custard took me back to my youth. All this for less then £40. This was probably one of our best pub experiences in the whole of south England. Please do ask the ex rugby player what the French word on the rugby shirt actually means 😉
Fantastic pub with exceptional food and service. Very dog friendly
Staying in the village with our friends for the weekend of the fete. We ate in the pub on the Saturday night. The menu was extensive and it was difficult to choose. I went for the squid to start which was cooked to perfection followed by the Peri peri monkfish and King prawns, what an incredible dish. After a good rest I decided to try the cherry cheesecake, absolutely delicious. The service and atmosphere was warm and welcoming from the staff and the visitors, a true gem of a pub.
