Our first visit, and it was for our second wedding anniversary, we had a fairly early table as I was driving (from Newport) and knew I'd fancy a few drinks back in our town after dining. We were politely and efficiently received and seated, and found the floor staff to be fully attentive. Our order was taken for starters and mains once we had made our decisions, and the food came.. It was thoroughly enjoyable; I'd had the pigeon breast starter and my wife had garlic mushrooms, both were delicious. Mains, I had a rump steak (a very good rump and cooked exactly as a rare should be) and my better half had the venison suet which were both lovely. We progressed to deserts, I had a hot waffle with rum and raisin ice cream, and my lady had a cheeseboard and port. Again, lovely.
Lovely premises, pleasant and attentive staff, and clearly run with care, would certainly recommend.
Always a special experience visiting a B & P pub/restaurant. We've been to several. We occasionally like to make one the focus of a day out. The Oakley Arms is our most local and used when we want to impress family or special visitors. We were able to eat out on the terrace yesterday afternoon on our latest visit enjoying the view overlooking the pretty pool. (The inside is also excellent with a real "feel good" factor). Varied menu freshly printed daily is a nice touch. Hate laminated menus. Staff friendly throughout. Recommended....
This was our second impromptu visit, lovely setting and in summer will be fab to sit outside. The food is all freshly cooked and very high quality, the staff are very friendly and will help you with everything. The menu is really affordable in price and good value. Would highly recommend the Oakley arms.
Amazing Sunday lunch at The Oakley Arms the mackerel starter and sea trout main I cannot recommend enough absolutely delicious, my partner had the chicken liver pate starter and the mussels for main he said too it was a delicious meal.
This place has been REVAMPED AND REOPENED this year, and become immediately popular.
Brunning and Price have bought out the venue, the are the owners of one of my local favourites, the Fox at Chetwynd Aston, and The Woodbridge in Ironbridge- these places are freaking quality, gastro pubs, in pretty venues with generous outdoor seating.
I had never been here before before it closed previously, but I can definitely see why it was a wedding venue. Little neat gardens, a sun trap of terrace seating over a pool filled with koi carp and ducks.
Grab a print out menu, and walk up to the bar to order, waiters will do any running back and forth after this.
I went for a quick lunch with my friends mum to discuss her upcoming nuptials, and it didn't disappoint, we sat in the baking sun, me with a good layer of factor 50 on, and plumped for sandwiches.
It was lovely.
We also decided on puddings, my ginger and rhubarb trifle was absolutely gorgeous.
As with the other nearby places, expect a wicked gin list, good ales, a full, busy bar, but you want to come here to eat as well, it's not really a pub just for drinking, the tables fill up quickly and you will probably want to book ahead to make sure you get in there!
Lovely staff, lovely food, good bar, get down and try it out.
I only know this as a wedding reception venue. Has real ale, the food was ok too. Very lovely place outside and inside.
As you may all know by now, I get married next year and I have been searching for the perfect place everywhere. So after booking a place and then not hearing anything from them for months only for them to tell us they had booked another couple for their wedding instead, we thought it best to look elsewhere. Then we found the Oakley which is a gorgeous place located in a beautiful village and we fell in love with it.
First the address:
The Oakley
Kiddemore Green Road
Brewood
Staffordshire
ST19 9BQ
We found the Oakley very easily considering it is in a lovely little village called Brewood which is apparently a winner of best kept village for quite a few years running. It is gorgeous and right in the country and so quiet you feel like you have gone on holiday although it is not too far away from my house. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the Oakley from a junction on the M6 so as you can imagine it is easy to get to and very accessible.
The Oakley is set back with a fantastic car park which is huge. It is a gigantic white building that looks very welcoming which is always nice. When you walk in there is a massive fish tank filled with some lovely fish and the main reception. Now for weddings there are two rooms available which is great so I will let you know a little bit about them now.
The smaller room is beautiful and quite huge which is nice and offers panoramic views over the gardens which are simply stunning. It has its own private little bar and is a short walk away from the bigger bar. It is massive anyway and can house around 100 people so more than big enough to accommodate my wedding party. I should mention at this point that both rooms can be used for other parties and private functions too so not only weddings.
The larger room is fabulous and can house up to 200 people I should imagine. It has a spectacularly large dance floor if you fancy like having a lot of people who can dance at your wedding. This room can have a door that takes you straight out onto the terrace and into the fabulous gardens which is very nice indeed.
Now the terrace area is fantastic with seats and also a large area for barbeques if you want them. The gardens are fabulous though and are set around a massive lake which is so picturesque. There is a small centre piece in the middle which is lovely and you can walk all around and across the couple of bridges they have there.
The setting is beautiful and it does take your breath away because you walk into the place not even thinking there is this massive area of garden which is so gorgeous.
They have rooms at the Oakley too so you can stay the night if needs be.
Now if you want to just visit the Oakley for food they do serve Sunday lunch for about £15 per head and it was delicious. They had a good choice of roasts and they give you a lot of food which is always good to see. The staff are very pleasant and you can sit on a table looking out onto the gardens which is lovely on a Sunday afternoon.
Hire of the rooms is at £1500 - 1700 which is very reasonable and accommodation is around the £60 per room mark and you get a breakfast with that.
In conclusion I am going to tell you the Oakley is simply stunning and if you want a party, wedding or corporate do there it is worth visiting. If you fancy like a meal with some superb views then I recommend going to.
Love it there!!!!
Thanks for reading.

P.S. This has been posted on other sites but always by me katygriff
Beautiful pub. Beautiful garden with amazing views. Food was a bit disappointing though. Pate and steak pie were delicious but “rice cakes” and pork belly were not very good. Pork belly was made Italian way and it was like a slab of fat on the plate. Not a fan of that particular way of preparation. Most disappointing thing was “rice cakes” which were not rice cakes at all. They were arancini balls. And the so called kimchi was some weird curry paste. Tastes nothing of kimchi. Overall the dish wasn’t bad or anything but when you order one thing and get completely different thing it’s really disappointing. If you’re going to make Korean fusion at least do some research on what it actually is.
Absolutely sensational food. Best Gluten free menu I have ever seen.
Hands down I will be making this a regular thing.
I had an absolutely wonderful time for my 40th birthday. I'd been looking at a number of venues and when I popped in a few weeks before, the lady at the bar made me feel confident we would be looked after. I wasn't wrong. The setting, the food and the room were all perfect. Charlotte looked after us really well. It was the perfect day. Thank you!
It was lovely to get our family together at The Oakley Arms. It was recommended by a family friend. On arrival, the car park, buildings and gardens were well presented and beautifully landscaped, and the interior of the pub lived up to the high standards outside. We had a really warm welcome from the lovely barman (sorry, not sure of his name), who chatted to everyone in our party including the children. Our server was also friendly, attentive and did well to cope with a large party with lots of catching up to do and multiple requests. The food was gorgeous. My sister and brother and their families live relatively nearby and have already said they would come back. We live about 100 miles away and the only thing that we would suggest as an improvement to this lovely place would be to offer some accommodation as we would certainly stay. You should be so proud of this pub and its wonderful staff. Thanks for a great afternoon!
We attended here for a family member's birthday. They had been previously and had wanted to return for celebrations. The service was friendly and attentive. Food was lovely and the starter and mains were hot and fresh. Pudding was great too. Would happily recommend and return. The outside area is very nice. Overall a great place.
The Oakley Arms is a Great Pub/Restaurant to visit with family and friends. The food, in my opinion, is great. We had the braised lamb shoulder, Beer Battered Fish and Chips and ths Smoked haddock fishcake (all highly recommend). Everything was cooked perfectly. We also had the Triple Chocolate Brownie with a cappuccino, sticky toffy pudding and vanilla sponge syrup.
The service was quick and ecellent. The staff are very friendly.
I highly recommend this pub.
10 out of 10 Rating
Lovely place and setting. A little more gravy with Sunday dinner, less cooking time for the Yorkshire pudding and a chicken option for the kids menu. Would of made it five stars.
A great country pub set in lovely grounds. The pub has a nice relaxed atmosphere with open fires in the winter. Very dog friendly.
What a place, we went here for a belated birthday meal, and I'm so glad we did. First-time visitors and it won't be our last. 3 of us went for the roast, and the other sausage and mash, but before we devoured them, it was starters. Crispy squid and sautéed wild mushrooms, delicious. Followed up with a dessert, toasted waffle, Nutella filled doughnuts, and a Toffee apple tart. Service was superb, considering it was busy, the food came quick and hot, and it was always served with a smile. All in all, a fantastic meal. TOP NOTCH
Fantastic pub food in a great location. If the weather is good try and grab an outside spot
Lovely country pub. We only went in for drinks but was a nice place. Lots of drink choices. Wasn't too busy early evening.
Had a very enjoyable lunch. Good service, good food selection. A bit of a wait for our main courses to arrive, but not a major issue. Lovely setting. Hopefully one day I shall be able to sit outside - plenty of space, just the weather lets me down.
So glad to find this gem of a pub.
Beautiful little lake at the rear with terrace that looks like it would be perfect for a warm summers evening.
The pub itself is a very good size, so don't be put off if the car park has loads of cars...there will most likely be plenty of room inside.
All the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Food is as good as it looks and I would love to try more at a later date, along with more of the extensive range of beers and wines.
The only downside is that I live more than 100 miles away, but if ever in that neck of the woods again will certainly make a B line for it.
What a beautiful, cosy, friendly, place with amazing food.
The katsu curry is the best I've ever had. The coffee is excellent too.
The staff are fantastic, the food and drink choices superb, and the whole place encourages you to stay and relax.
Overall a wonderful example of the kind of pub Britain does best.
Food good and service pleasant. The level of noise though detracted from a relaxing meal. There was a large party in and they meant that we all knew they were in the building.
1st time visit and was mightily impressed with the venue, food and service! A delightful place to wine and dine within an environment and ambience that makes you feel relaxed, warmth and top class. I'll certainly be looking to return to celebrate my birthday!
Food was excellent, service attentive and patient. There was a drink charged, but not received 😢. It was refunded, and didn't affect our visit, mistakes happen
