This is an above average Toby Carvery, not the best but still very good.
The wait staff are always polite and friendly and the manager and customer service are excellent.
Occasionally we come into contact with a carver with a bad attitude but let's forgive them because they are hot and tired id imagine.
The food generally is good, the beef is hit or miss and I'd love to see more green vegetables, especially in the winter when there's a sea of orange and beige.
There's a big disabled toilet that didn't get refurbished when everything else did and needs completely ripping out. It had a resident fly.
One of the best things is the crumbles don't have gluten in them! I like em!
It's generally clean and a good cheap dinner.
You can't ask for more for £6.50 for two courses!
Always very busy on a weekend , service not great. But food certainly makes ip for it. Only down fall was hard overcooked Yorkshire puddings.
Had a wonderful carvery tonight with my beloved husband. The restaurant was full with families and couples/groups but, waitress was attentive although clearly busy.
The food was hot and delicious. The vegetables were replenished quickly, so that nothing was left and dried out.
Couldn't have asked for more. We had a wonderful date night and will certainly make this Toby carvery a regular weekly venue!
I like the way the food is cooked in this particular branch. Although I don't like the inconsistency of the serving of the meat. It is very much true that the more experienced the employee is of Tobey the better it is for the customers, as you get a fair portion of meat. Inexperienced employees are useless as they always serve scraps, don't even get a proper slice as their knife slips as they're trying to cut it so fine. It's always a mixed bag every time we go either we are very pleased with the service or very disappointed. Also I decided yesterday I when there never to opt for the king-size plate again as you don't get any more for your money only a couple of sausages which I could do without.
Arrived 8pm on a Saturday without a reservation, food was plentiful, fresh and juicy. The meat server behind the counter who has a beard was delightful was very happy with his service. Tables and glasses were clean. The waitresses were constantly around and moving about so easy to get service. Was a very good night out definitly come again.
Not been here in years and was pleasantly surprised. Beef was melt in mouth and sides were lovely. As always Yorkshire Ouds were delicious. Also got generous portions. Nice seeing staff and will be back. If you download Toby app can take advantage of offers.
I’m a regular here and really do enjoy lunch on a weekly basis. There’s plenty of good quality fresh food that’s tasty and enjoyable, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. It’s always worth a visit, plus the breakfast is a good deal too!
Always love coming here for a meal. The food is always delicious and good quality. The manager Gemma, she is always so friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and she gives you a lovely greeting when you walk in.
I used to come here before she managed it, and it was nothing like it is now. She has really turned it around.

Friendly and helpful staff always patient...although the chef carving the meat was a bit stingy.
Seated as per request and even catered for an unexpected additional guest who joined us after we had booked.
We really enjoyed our visit, not been for a long time. The food was great. Mine was the usual meat option, and my wife was extremely happy with her meat free option. I'm glad we went. I won't leave it as long before going back

Carvery was very good. Esp liked the gammon. Waitress very attentive too. All round, a good visit.
The restaurant and staff were great. However the 'Super Salad' offered on the menu was very disappointing.
Just a plate of shredded lettuce, cherry tomatoes, ribbon carrot and cucumber. Not very inventive.
Great experience, went with my family and we all had a great meal. Staff were brilliant and we had a really nice time. This venue is very highly recommended 👍🇬🇧
I've been to a few Toby Carveries and this is the best (and original). Lots of tables but has a cozy pub feel. The buffet kept in good order even in quiet times.
We were sent the 50% deal absolutely brilliant. The meat was nice and tender lovely roast potatoes and vegetables and gravy The only things I would criticise the plates and gravy were both luke warm.
What can I say, it's a Carvery but a very good one. Extremely clean and service was fast and friendly. Great for anyone 👍.
Popped in for breakfast today and it was delicious. There was plenty of food available and it was hot and tasty. Will definitely be returning.
