Melts from the first bite.
The best patties you can have
I really rate the food here, also good customer service : )
I'd give my right hand to be as successful as the folk at Mr Patty.
Now in their 40th year, this tiny, rather shabby little premises had my head in a spin after I popped in for a beef patty at around five on a Friday afternoon.
In my nine years of being a resident in Harlesden I had never entered this high street gold mine, so when a mate of mine who had had last feasted on a patty about fifteen years ago suggested we give it a whirl, I was just curious to find out how such a small, rather insignificant looking shop could have survived for so long.
A cup of tea later and I had to change the verb - not so much surviving as thriving.
Thirty people must have come in to order their 'usual' fare and at least three people were utterly crest fallen because some evil witch had taken the last eight banana fritters in one go.
The young man serving was familiar with everyone except for me. I felt rather left out. Poking through the doorway, customers would shout 'about ten minutes, ok?' without even mentioning what their order was. Bonkers.
So, the patty arrived unceremoniously in a flimsy bag with a paper napkin. Rough puff pastry encasing a very lightly spiced beef filling that felt, well, just right. It's not rocket science and it's not anything I can put my finger on, but you just have to loudly applaud a business that hasn't changed since its inception. If it ain't broke...............
Cool, I'm the first person to write a review for this place. If you life fresh and clean Jamaican bites to take away this is the place to come if your passing by. The original owner, a Chinese Jamaican, died a few years ago and had run this shop for decades. Now his son runs it, who has cut glass English, unlike his late father who had a strong Jamaican accent. If you're into reggae, take note of the autographed pictures of some stars who have visited the restaurant in the past, including the late great Dennis Brown who used to live not too far away in the early 90s. The portion sizes has gotten a little smaller over the time to try and keep the prices rising but it's always tasty and consistent and made from years of experience on the premises. Big up Mister Patty!
An hidden gem in Harlesden where you can surely have the best Jamaican food in London! The owner is great. Stop by to learn some amazing stories about his life and the food, which is top quality and always fresh. His love for what he does will certainly makes coke back for more!
My comfort food… 🥰 Great place to grab lunch (or some dinner) if you’re around in the area. I have visited here multiple times and it is amazing; the quality of the food is top notch and served up with excellent customer service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Everything is handmade perfectly and beautifully presented - once I open the bag with the patties in (and everything else of course), they’re gone in seconds!
The prices of everything are very reasonable given the current economy and hasn’t risen much since pre-covid/2020. If I’m ever looking for a quick bite to eat, I alway stop here. 🍽️
My whole family love the cooking and the flaky pastry of each patty. Mister Patty has become a great incentive for my siblings to behave as well… 🤣
Could not recommend it more, definitely a must try! My favourites are definitely the beef patties, curry chicken/mutton with rice and peas and plantain! There is only one Mister Patty! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Best Patties in the whole of Harlesden!! Been a staple and part of the landscape of Northwest! The patties are so lovely and fresh, the Pastry doesn't taste manufactured, all homemade, beautiful and flaky, how it should be not yellow and hard! They need to put the sign back up though so those who don't know get to know!!as if you don't know about it you may miss it without the signage.
Highly recommend forever!
Best patties going. I'm hooked. I'm vegetarian and call to order a few of the veg patties on a weekly basis now. Can't do without
Been a customer for 20+ years, even though I cook Caribbean food myself, as I am from there.
Last time I visited Jamaica, I found the patties in restaurants there, were not as good as Mr Patty's patties!
Stupendous.
The best patty in London by a mile. This is an authentic, traditional flaky pastry patty, not the awful floury, doughy pastry that so many other take away and supermarket pattys are covered in. The patty is generously filled with delicious, scrumptious fillings, freshly prepared on site. The beef patty is ace, closely rivalled by a delicious mutton patty. This place also makes a great salt fish fritter. The owner is friendly, polite and helpful. This place always gives honest, efficient and good customer service. A great little take away gem.
Seriously most flavoursome well seasoned patties, you can't go wrong with them all! Flaky pastry seasoned to perfection. Don't get me started one the saltfish fritters, another level completely, everything is great to be fair. used to live nearby and went there all the time, now live near Brighton and make sure I come here when working in London. Service great can't fault, fravourite Carribbean takeaway in harlesden, never disappointed 👍
