Fantastic propper traditional pub and steakhouse. Managed to fit our party of 7 in with 10 minutes notice over the phone despite being extremely busy on a Saturday night and the food was amazing! We didn't have to wait too long and the staff were really nice and friendly. Not often do I get steak cooked exactly how I like it. The meat was excellent quality and cooked rare to perfection. Would highly recommend.

After trying another carvery and struggling to find somewhere to eat late on a Sunday evening I chanced and called the Red Cow. So happy we did. Wayne (lovely gent who took the call) managed to squeeze us in on the last table available for a late roast. Most other venues at 18:30 would give you any number of excuses not to serve you what’s on the menu, or have run out of other options, but this pub was fantastic! The staff serving were more than welcoming and the food was delicious. Large lamb roast for £15 kids for £8. Beer excellent. Deserts were a little pricy at £7 but if you can point me towards a better lemon curd cheesecake I’ll eat my hat. We left with full belly’s and a note on local places to visit. Would highly recommend. PS toilets were spotless. This speaks volumes on any venue in my opinion.

A traditional English pub serving great ale and food as you would want it to be in traditional (but CLEAN and well maintained) surroundings. Well managed hands on owner with a great team. Will be back soon…

A wide range of meals, including vegetarian, served by friendly and efficient staff. The atmosphere in the pub is excellent. The food is delicious. It also has a large car park so groups should have no problem meeting there. All round a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended.

A unexpected lunch out at a pub that is local to me. Friday and a roast lunch do not always go hand in hand but the menu had rib of beef as a roast option and that's what I went for. A full roast dinner and a choice of meal sizes, small, medium and large. All priced realistically for the meal. It included a Yorkshire pudding as well as the Red Cow cauliflower cheese. Cauliflower cheese is standard on the roast meals, remember to say if you don't like it. A traditional village pub that has adjusted to the food market to survive, it does well with a good reputation and food that always delivers. Friday is also curry night with a vegan curry option. One to remember next time I visit. WiFi coverage is also good which allows children to use their devices and keep busy.

5 eating, we were made to feel welcome. Food was really good. Old world feel about the place. Would recommend/go back again if in the area. Only downside is that we could not take our dog with us.

For a MAJOR change from hot dogs, burgers and all the other staples offered by Brean we took a 10min drive to this great little pub sitting very picturesque at the foot of Brent Knoll. We had booked in advance, and just as well as it was very busy. Despite this our initial service was quick and pleasant. We ordered 2x roast of the day (turkey) and cheesy garlic bread with chips for the squirt. The chips were MASSIVE but obviously twice cooked as rhey were crispy yet soft inside. Indeed all of the food was well cooked and did not disappoint. The only negative for me was that as the pub was well booked, we were seated away from the busy main body and into what was clearly a bowling alley. With there being only one other party with us it felt rather lonely. I don't think it was intentional but it did feel like we'd been somewhat abandoned, though not neglected. I'd maybe install a TV or at the very least some background music. Well worth a visit (booking recommended)

Went to the local garden centre but didn't think much of the limited food they were serving for lunch, so my friend had visited this pub before and we thought we would give it a try. When we arrived it was quite busy and we hadn't booked but the lady managed to find us a table. The food was lovely and well priced. I particularly impressed with the homemade raspberry pavlova (1st photo), scampi (2nd photo), roast beef (3rd photo), beer battered chicken Gordon's (4th photo). The service was great too. I will be back.

We stopped off for a quick drink on the way back from a walk. This place is your quintessential country pub. Great atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Great beer gardens and best of all a really nice pint! Highly recommended.

Went to the Red Cow recently, after seeing their rating/reviews...we weren't disappointed, food was so good, we went back 3 days later, & had another lovely meal, this time followed by a delicious desert! Excellent food, excellent service & a pleasant atmosphere in the pub. Recommended!

Lovely country pub! Not sure on what exactly makes a large roast bigger than the medium except plate size, also service forgot 2 x drinks orders. Apart from that, everyone was super kind and I look forward to coming next time to give it that extra star!

Amazing place hidden away at the base of the knoll - good menu with clearly marked Vegan and Gluten-Free options, friendly staff and good atmosphere. Sat outside in the garden for a superb starter, epic Gammon and superb desserts (Pavlova and Cheesecake) - with the coldest ice-cream in the world 😋 - Thatchers (GF) Cider too, glad I had to walk back to my hotel, well fed! Expensive, maybe, but worth it!

It's took a little downfall but still a great place to eat and drink staff are nice but it's very expensive so be mindeful of that. A 4 person meal can cost up to £100 which means it's not always affordable.
