Fab pub, hubby's favourite being a real ale drinker. Excellent staff, top class food & drink. Highly recommend to anyone.
This pub is amazing not only does it serve all the ales a man could ask for! ( keeps em quiet) not that my husband is an ale man but he's catered for with his (pint of gay) but the food is great and the service is impeccable! The bar staff are friendly and very good humoured! The beer festivals are amazing and so are the gardens the pub is set in! I Would recommend this little gem to anyone! ( I know people who come from far and wide for this little treat!) Oh and a little mention to the owner Sam you've nailed it!!
A beautiful country pub with all the trimming! Fab garden with massive kid friendly area and also an adult friendly area - nice touch. Food is plentiful and they are well known for their variety of beers. Everything you'd want from a family run, rural pub.
This is a proper, real pub. Real beer superbly kept, real food and real local people. It's a million miles from the dross churned out by the pubco's. No piped music, no telly, no fruit machines. A CAMRA award winning pub many times over this is a real ale drinker's paradise. And all set in an idyllic location just outside the picturesque village of Brenchley. I wish all pubs were like this.
Friendly welcoming accommodating ... 17 of us late for Sunday lunch thanks huge portions and lovely food !
this is my favourite of all time pubs , it's a proper old pub with great beers , and great food . Always friendly and chatty down there .
Excellent choice of ales, and excellent food in a proper old pub.
Lovely welcoming country pub, with good food, and very good selection of real ales
Splendid array of ales from the barrel and an impending 60 ale beer festival at whitsun bank holiday. Game on !
Great decor as well as great grubb Looking forward to going again
Such a good country pub! So glad some places like this still retain their character and don’t over-modernise. Really friendly staff and great selection of drinks. The apple pie cider is especially good. Can’t recommend this place enough, stop by, you won’t be disappointed. Just wish I lived closer. Thanks again to all the lovely staff.
We came for Sunday lunch at this great quirky old pub that does lovely food and has a vibrant and friendly atmosphere. A selection of ales, many local, that are second to none and local ciders plus the usual range of other drinks you'd expect. We don't like our food piled high and found the portion sizes just right, nicely cooked and served with a smile. This was our first visit and we're already planning our next visit, we loved it and hope you do too. Be aware, this is a very popular pub and we'd recommend booking a table in advance.
Characterful and friendly pub with proper beer! We popped in after a walk but will be back for food.
Fabulous outdoor space with tons of sheltered seating. Great menu with pub classics done well and a few more adventurous options too. Beer selection is top notch with a thoughtfully curated range of local and guest beers. One of the best pubs for miles and miles.
We placed our order at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere of a locals spot. Service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a great hake fish and chips and the sea bream special was top notch. An incredible building with a mysterious history. Would love to know what the walls have seen!
Might be one of my favourite pubs I’ve been to, especially on a sunny summers day.
Dedicated BBQ hut, with a really great menu, two bars outside in separate huts. Also the inside main pub which is really nice! Lovely outside area which is dog friendly.
Food is great, and a wide selection of cask ales.
Visited with friends for Sunday lunch, & what a fantastic find this pub is. Food was really good, quite large portions & so reasonably priced (roast £13pp), even including the prosecco for £20! Great atmosphere inside & plenty of parking outside in carpark & overflow carpark. Service was pretty good & staff very friendly. We enjoyed it so much, we're going back in Dec for early Xmas meal.
Lovely, interesting old country pub. Meals were cooked perfectly and big portions. Beer we ordered wasn't to our taste. Nice atmosphere.
Amazing food will definitely be back for more lambs liver 👌 and service was good sweet little lad who served us needs more recognition 🙌 make him more in the work place he's a credit what I didnt like was when he was serving us one member of staff rudely interrupted and shouted his name making him flustered on what to do but he returned straight to us before he went to his staff member which was good so good on him shame on the person who rudely interrupted which I believe was actually management! but other then that lovely place well done to the chef as well making sure everything was gluten free nut free 🤌
A nice country pub with a lovely big beer garden surrounded by tall trees. Beautiful. Service was great, good selection of local beer and cider, as well as the food being fairly decent. Prices are fair considering the state of things, but one gripe was the inside of the pub was a bit tatty L. Adds character, but outside is where it’s at I think. Will come again!
