Amazing food and a warm welcome always at this country pub. Dog friendly in the bar and a big log burner to dry off by if it's raining. Had a few meals here now with friends and we've probably tried the whole menu between us and can't fault it, every meal is worth every penny, and it's the best value for money and variety in a small pub you will find anywhere. I can't recommend this place enough!! Come on everyone support our country pubs, before then none left !!

Been here loads of times, always had a massive welcome, food is fantastic, fresh and plenty of it. This little pub is situated in one of the nicest parts of Wales, people around are mainly farmers and, just like the area, are some of the most welcoming people you will ever meet. Make it a point to visit - You'll go back again, I promise. Good luck all. Hope you're all well up there in God's little acre. XXX

Visited this pub yesterday with our dog. Absolutely fantastic. Food was stunning. I had cod and chips with peas and tartare sauce. My husband had Hunters chicken with chips. Nicest cod I've ever had. They even gave us 2 freshly cooked sausages for our dog and we had a huge jug of water to refill her bowl.. wonderful country pub :)

Fantastic little pub, we know Perry from running a club in Lydney and it was worth the 4 hour round trip for food and a beer... He is missed at Watney Hall but it's now your villages gain... Will definitely be visiting again...

Ryan and the whole pub team make this a wonderful retreat. First class hospitality, everyone including the diners / drinkers very friendly and welcoming. We were staying in the cottage next door so this was our local each day! Great little menu and superb home cooking. Without doubt, the best range of local / Welsh beers I experienced in our stay. A fabulous place that draws in a regular crowd. Thank you all again! 'Til next time!!

Visited here for a meal while staying in the local area. Had a really great experience. Excellent cosy country pub atmosphere, made all the better by a very friendly reception from the landlord who recommended some local walks. Good ale and really nicely prepared home cooked food. I had the steak, which was tender and perfectly done. Drink prices very reasonable. Will definitely be returning again during our stay. A real gem well worth visiting if in the area.....oh and dogs welcome is a bonus. Further update to the above, we have now spent a week in Pentre Bach and have visited the Shoemakers on several occasions for food and drink, being the perfect place to refresh from a long walk. Just had the Sunday roast which was excellent both in terms of quantity and quality. Really good home cooking. The atmosphere is a great blend of visitors and friendly locals. So good to see a community pub thriving, much to the credit of the family that run it. Certainly played a big part in making our holiday so relaxing and enjoyable.

Lovely little pub and very friendly service landlord gave us lots of tips for our holidays . Couple of guest beers on draft were very nice , would have gone back for 2nd visit if open more in daytime during week days Will make sure next time we visit in the summer so still light for an evening walk and pint or two!

Walked to this great rural pub. Landlord was ace; friendly and super helpful. Serves a well chilled pint and steak was cooked beautifully. Even offered us a lift back to save our tired legs. Would definitely recommend.

Fully recommend, small farmhouse pub in the welsh valley of Brecon Beacons, small car parking outside. Seating area outside. Be aware that on the way you are driving down small country lanes with sharp corner's Very pleasant staff, food excellent service very quick. Local produce sourced, many variety meals on the menu excellent for the price. Drinks and ale's on bar. Would recommend to book as can get busy Sunday lunch available. Beautiful walks and scenery nearby.
