We were on a hunt for pork belly...And we found this lovely place which we were lucky enough to be accomadated at such short notice, only because it was so early in the day. We had a 5 hour journey home ahead of us and was over the moon with the warm welcome and the outstanding service from all of the staff. The food was fantastic, I had the roast rib of beef which melted in the mouth..The spuds...Lush! The veg..Bang on and the Yorkshire!..Honestly the best I've had.Mmmm. My partner had the pork belly...I've not seen him clear a plate as quick as that in a long time, he got what he wanted and loved every bit of it. And I loved the music in the background I felt in my element and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I must mention again the staff were so brilliant, on the ball and friendly.. and to me that's almost as important as the food. If I had a helicopter I'd come back again this Sunday! Next time I'm up that way I will definitely be stopping by. Highest recommendation...A must try for sure.
Dropped in on this place on a Sat night after walking at Brimham Rocks. Obviously had not booked but the staff were really friendly and accommodating. Had a lovely meal and the service was top notch. We can highly recommend this place and will definitely be back again if we visit the area. x

Delicious meal last night, divine tuna tempura, perfectly cooked venison, crispy porkbelly and one of the best ever steak and ale puddings. We were 4 happy diners who were looked after well by your friendly, helpful staff and we will definitely be back.

If you would like to try great old fashioned pub grub then look no further.This place does it all.We dine out 3/4 times a week and I was amazed when there was actually five mains that I would choose.I opted for the belly pork which was delicious.My wife had the steak & ale pie.We have booked for next Sunday lunch,however they were fully booked and could only get us in at 12 -1.30 Which goes to show their success

Our first time here last night and we will definitely be returning soon. The food was gorgeous, the staff were very polite and friendly and the over all feel with the warm cosy fires was really lovely. Highly recommend

What a wonderful find! Laura was so accommodating of our dog, finding him somewhere to rest out of the way and providing him with treats and water.
The food was amazing. Good veggie options too (the goats cheese Wellington was so good π). Beautiful desserts too.

Booked an evening meal here whilst staying at a local B&B. Excellent food, more restaurant quality than pub food but with some pub classics on the menu.The prices are reasonable for the quality of food and generous portions. Friendly service and cosy decor. We would definitely recommend.
We were staying at a local caravan site and popped here for an evening meal. It was one of the nicest meals out we have had in a long time. The food was delicious, staff were so friendly and welcoming and the pub was gorgeous. I had the lemon chicken (photo), my husband had the pork belly and my daughter had the children's chicken strips. All of these were divine! Our dog was very happy here too! We will definitely be back when we are in the area.
We arrived early but our table was ready. We sat beside a massive log burner. The waitress was lovely, full of friendly banter and kindness. The mulled wine was delicious. I'm gluten free, which really wasn't an issue for the team. I had sea bass fillet on a bed of creamy mashed potato with lemon sauce. For of us ordered this and loved it. My son had fish and chips which he devoured. There were treats for the dog, baby changing facilities and a high chair, so we were well catered for. My only criticism would be my family for not wanting a dessert. Pah. Massive thanks to the team.
What an absolute gem of a place. Welcoming staff and the food was 5 Star. Will definitely be visting again as the food was superb π
We enjoyed a delicious meal here on a Friday night. The staff was accommodating to my food allergy which was addressed before we even ordered. The service was definitely slow, as another large group came in after us, ordered, and had eaten quite a bit before our meal arrived. But we had nowhere to be, and the wait was well worth it when the food was presented. Everything was hot and delicious. I highly recommend having dinner here.

The food was amazing, really delicious quality dishes. We took advantage of the lunchtime deal.... at Β£16.95 for 2 courses, 19.95 for 3, its an absolute steal ππ€ compliments to the chef π

The food was excellent! We had 3 courses and each one was amazing all done to a very high standard. The atmosphere was great, not noisy, and had a lovely log burner going. The service was great The girls were very friendly and were very on the ball with making sure our needs were met, clearing dishes away and making sure we had drinks.
I would highly recommend and look forward to going back there again soon.
I had my 50th birthday in this pub. The owners allowed my husband to decorate the room and also added beautiful birthday decorations themselves. When I entered the rooms, I did not expect such a spectacular effect. Something wonderful π₯³π₯³π₯³ And the food is perfect and delicious, beautifully decorated. Everything fresh and perfectly served. Service at the highest level. Evaluating this place it gives only 5 stars but it's not enough because they deserve ββββββββββ

My colleague and I use the Malt Shovel for our work catch ups as it's smack in the middle of where we both live!
We have been here a couple of times now and every time the staff have been attentive, friendly and soon accommodating.
The added bonus is that the food is delicious! Never had a bad meal here and the Pork Belly is to die for.
I imagine it's a great place to meet with friends and family or a quiet meal for two.
Highly recommended.
