An epic carvery with lots of choice. It's very rare you see self serve carveries these days, especially ones with so much choice. It was all very good quality, and very tasty. The meat was delicious and generously served. The restaurant itself is a little dated, but the service is good.

Great Sunday roast deal, good selection of side dishes with the roast. We were lucky to get a table at the carvery and really enjoyed the side dishes. The meat was dry but still got a nice lunch overall for the price.

We've driven past this pub on our way too and from the beach and its a lovely setting and big pub. Often its very busy for good reason as we found out when we managed to pop in for an evening meal. Atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were great and very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, even when busy! Dogs are allowed in the bar section, which was great and staff were very chilled about the dogs in the room. The food was great and I do mean great, a good portion and not too expensive. Gluten free and Vegetarian options clearly shown which is good and toilets are clean and well presented. Stopping off for a drink in the garden or lunch/evening meal is definitely a must. Great pub, but I'll probably not be able to get in there as its so busy. Enjoy the thatched roof too!

We found this nice gem on our way back to London from Saunton beach. We managed to squeeze in to their fully booked restaurant. The food quality was superb. Highly recommend to have your meal there. You need to book in advance for the carvery.

We went for the carvery.Meat choices were beef, turkey and pork, all of which were cooked perfect.. the roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese were sublime.. my friends we were with said it was the best carvery they had ever had... the building is stunning being several centuries old... staff were friendly and professional. My only wish is this was local to me rather than being a holiday must do..but it does mean we have somewhere to look forward to going to...

Had a lovely family meal at the Williams Arms yesterday. Food was excellent. Highly recommend the Turkey and Gammon pie. Best pie I've tasted for a very long time. Carvery smelt and looked amazing. Desserts were also very nice.

Always go for a Sunday carvery here when we are down on holiday. Food is cooked perfectly and there's a great choice of different items. Gravy is always perfect consistency. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only thing I would say that could be improved is the speed drinks come, can sometimes be a bit slow depending on how busy it gets. Desserts are also amazing, if you have any room!

Just had probably the best Sunday roast, Mum's cooking aside, ever. Lovely big dining room with loads of attentive staff. Carvery was amazing, lovely succulent turkey, pork or beef, 12 vegetable choices, including 3 different potato dishes, a cauliflower cheese to die for and roast parsnips. Huge portions of cheesecake to finish and we could barely move. Loads of free parking, great value for money and highly recommended.

Food was not the best, but still acceptable. The waiters service was under any village standards. The atmosphere was excellent. So if you want to see native countryside villagers in their genuine friendly atmosphere - this is the right place. We are keeping lightnings memories from this place even the awful service from waiters, but to be honest this gave us more genuine feelings about the beautiful moment when we were there. We will be happy to visit this place again and will be grateful if the waiters are still unskilled to do their duties properly, because this is part of the genuine atmosphere. Love and hugs to everyone there.

Lovely food including the great choice with the carvery. Nice atmosphere with pleasant staff in a nice setting - what more do you want from a pub. Keep up the good work guys with the big plates and carvery and thanks for letting us take home the left overs for the woofs! :-)

We called into the Williams Arms by chance. The car park was roomy, the interior was lovely and the staff were polite, helpful and friendly. The carvery was brilliant, if fact, has someone who has eaten many a carvery, this was by far the best. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Williams Arms, we will be back.

Large pub doing a roaring trade in carvery meals (which looked awesome). Decided to order from menu and had an excellent beef stroganoff and cod with mussels and prawns. Lovely attentive staff. Will come here again.

We always visit the Williams Arms on our annual holidays down in North Devon. This year's visit didn't disappoint. Good service and delicious, fairly priced carvery. The restaurant and pub looks and feels quite old school in its approach but it's good to see a business which knows its sweet spot and just sticks to it. After all, if it ain't broken, don't fix it!
