The Brown Bear - Braughing - Photo album

We were there last night.. We had a great great night. So welcoming, warm, nice people, good beer and lovely music. We founded by mistake on Sunday, coming from London, when we were looking around for nice villages, and we pop in and we don't feel sorry at all!! We been told that on Tuesday is life
What a lovely old place, with so much character and great hospitality. Small but very cost area inside with the old fireplace for the winter, and great outdoor seating. Will be back for some dinner and no doubt I’ll be adding the 5th star after that.
My favourite type of pub...very cosy with exposed beams, board games, huge open fireplace and a friendly barkeep. What more could you want!
Very old pub in the middle of Braughing. Difficult to judge as I was there on the day of the village wheelbarrow race day !
Wonderful evening by the log fire in this amazingly atmospheric traditional pub. Friendly locals, great service and tasty homemade food - all for extremely reasonable prices.
This place something back from the past. A lovely warm hearth. Great beer. Even a veggie beer. A gamekeepers pub with dogs chewing on each other. I am definitely going back just to see which dogs do what to...... Not easy to get into if you have a disability. Bring some wood and keep the place warm.
Excellent pub. We went as a large group of 10 and one child. Staff are very friendly and the food was great pub food. Freshly prepared food cooked by one chef but even though we were a large party none of us had to wait for our dinner. And it was all very good. The milk stout on tap was a treat too.
An absolute gem. Lots of history in it. Lovely atmosphere.
I just love everything about this place. My wife and I go regularly for a fantastic Sunday lunch. Sometimes we take all the family and we are made so very welcome. The landlord is a brewer himself so his real ales are something well worth drinking. The food is excellent, served piping hot, good size
I first went in here with muddy boots after a countryside walk, and was given a warm welcome despite my appearance! I've been back twice since. The food is excellent - try their Thai food or very generous roasts while you enjoy the novelty of a pub without background music.
