Wow this place is amazing and food was the best Afternoon Tea we've ever had. I found The Agricultural Inn as it was a suggested post on social media so decided to follow and have a look at the menu. We chose Afternoon Tea as the added bonus was we could have it from midday where as other places dont start theirs until much later. This suited us as we could have some food before travelling back for school run. We booked The outdoor pod and what a delight it was. The hosts were welcoming and friendly, and food was simply delicious. I highly recommend going here and we will return with our children to experience this wonderful setting.

Fantastic Sunday lunch. The roast was first class and a lovely pub with great drink. We ate inside, roast beef followed by bread and butter pudding. Definitely amongst the best pub meals I have had. The pub itself is well presented and great/friendly service. Nothing to fault! Outside there is a nice seating area and also some odd looking pods (wouldn’t be for me but people were definitely enjoying them). Brampford Speke is a little out of the way but it’s worth the trip out!!!!

Went to the Agricultural Inn for Sunday lunch.... what can I say.... this place is amazing! We both ordered roast beef and the meal was absolutely delicious (Compliments to the chef). The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was great. I highly recommend booking in advance at this Inn is it's so busy (no wonder!). Not to be missed!

Visited for an evening birthday meal. Absolutely outstanding from food to service all in a wonderful location. Perfect atmosphere to dine and the most hospitable team. If you haven’t visited yet please do, you owe it to your taste buds and sense of well-being!

We used to be frequent Sunday lunchers here 30 years ago. Back in Exeter we took the opportunity to revisit. Yes it’s changed, the basic roast without extra’s is a good price. The chicken and veg were delicious however the belly pork was tough as old boots (resembled more of a chunk of pork). Also wasn’t happy with paying £1 for an extra ladle of gravy, that’s tight! To be honest they haven’t missed us the past 30 years so probably won’t go back but it does do a lovely roast chicken and staff were great!

Had a lovely 3 course meal for 6 to celebrate a 25th wedding anniversary. We had a table outside in the court yard and only needed a jumper towards the end (we ate in early June) - it was retain great great from the brick walls covered in beautiful vine leaves. A great selection on the menu for starters, mains and desserts. The beer was nice too and the service was wonderful. Thanks 😁

The Secret Garden is a hidden gem right behind the inn itself. I didn't realise a perfect beer garden existed until we visited. Great for families with children as there is lots of space and animals to see. Shade is provided if needed by parasols or big bell tents. Idyllic, with good local drinks and nice bar snacks. The staff were friendly and polite. Can't wait to come back!

Highly recommended, a great little pub. Six of us went for lunch on a Saturday. Definitely worth booking as it was busy (certainly in the garden on a hot day). Good varied menu albeit towards the top end of the price range for a pub. Food however was excellent as were the well kept beers. Good size carpark but likely to get full at peak times with overspill into the narrow roads. A real gem was the secret garden at the rear with it's own bar and more basic and cheaper menu, perfect for children and no doubtful hot evenings (we went there after eating in the main pub garden). There were a few animals and live music on certain night which was ticket only. The secret garden is only open at weekends so check for exact opening hours and what's on.

The last time I went to the agricultural inn I saw the Panama jazz kings play - were talking 20 years or so ago ! Had a nice pint with some friends. No complaints!

Really nice place and in a beautiful setting. Lots of seating, inside and outside, and the latter coming with its own bar for convenience. Came here for a steak meal which was great. It was cooked perfectly, and they take a lot of pride with their steak dish. So you know it’s cooked great. Did find the service drifted off a little bit, especially after we finished. No one cleared our plates or asked if we wanted deserts. In the end we went to the bar to pay. Still recommend it though, it’s a great place

The pub has always been good for food (and still us…and then some). The recent addition of the secret garden takes it to another level. We sat out on a sunny evening and had some lovely street food and drinks. Lovely place

This review is for the Secret Garden, attached to the pub. I didn’t enter the Imn. The Secret Garden is a great surprise. Big space, plenty of seating and tent space to have food and drink outdoors in the countryside. There are animals around too such as goats and chicken which adds to the scenery. The food is an Asian vibe, various noodle dishes, gyozo and other side dishes, though some of those side dishes are pretty expensive for what they are. All very tasty, served in take away dishes. There is a bar with a good selection of drinks with cocktails. If you base the review on food then the limited selection will not score 5. It is the setting that sells. Other detractions are the toilets, portaloos, but they are clean. Service was good too, though it was quiet. Keep in mind the place closes early at 9 pm.

Another visit, another lovely meal. This time we were able to snag one of the three dining pods as when booking we were unsure of the May weather. However we arrived on a lovely warm sunny day and we were very comfortable for our Sunday lunch. We each had one of the roasts, my beef was delicious as were the accompanying roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. The seasonal vegetable sides of beetroot, carrots and leeks were delicious also. We also ordered sides of the truffled Cauliflower Cheese which was tasty also. We indulged in puddings and between the four of us had the Pana Cotta, the Cheesecake, the Vegan tart and Sticky Toffee pudding. A throughly pleasant afternoon in nice surroundings with delicious food.

Really friendly staff, nice table next to the window, quick service, but didn't feel rushed. Very good menu and choice of drinks. I had the treacle cured salmon and noodle starter, absolutely divine. The burger was excellent, too.

Dining review Tucked away in the picturesque village of Brampford Speke (Exeter 10 miles North), Devon, The Agricultural Inn & Secret Garden welcomes you with its charming façade and promises a delightful countryside experience. This idyllic 17th-century pub exudes pastoral charm, seamlessly blending history and comfort. Parking no problem. As you step into The Agricultural Inn's cozy interior, adorned with warm wooden beams and charming rustic décor, you'll instantly feel a connection to the tranquil English countryside. The ambiance is inviting, and the outside area is also very pretty, and a very good place to sit/dine if the Devon weather allows. While the pub offers very decent menu, (Riverfordesque to a degree). The baba ghanoush based starter, a inventive delight that tantalizes the taste buds. And the treacle-marinated salmon wow, with the treacle lending a wonderfully unique sweetness. The service at The Agricultural Inn is nothing short of excellent. Friendly staff greet you with genuine smiles, ensuring that you feel right at home. Drinks checked regularly, empty plates cleared. Whether you're stopping by for a refreshing drink or settling in for a relaxed dinner, The Agricultural Inn's cozy ambiance, outstanding food, and idyllic country setting make it a must-visit destination when in Devon. Looking forward to go back already!
