A lovely cafe slap bang in the centre of town. You can sit outside in the Museum courtyard overlooking the Town Hall with it's nice new garden, the market square and the shiny new health centre and hotel building. A really nice spot to stop for a snack. Top marks for your drinks and cake, my coffee was very nice and the Bakewell Blondie as well. Everyone else enjoyed their rockyroads and milkshakes. The guy taking our order accommodated my fussy Americano installations perfectly, it was a good drink. I like the modern clean interior and counter, all very professional. The old black and white museum exhibit photos are interesting, but a little bland. Perhaps ask them for some colourful old Crittle adverts, or Warner prints to brighten it up a little. No idea how you are going to cool the place on a hot day, an old building with non opening windows. It was getting stuffy on a rubbish August afternoon.

My friend and I had breakfast this morning and the bacon was lovely and plenty of it, very good value for money. We went to toasts last Saturday for the first time and was very disappointed, I think they forgot to put the bacon in the toast, will definitely not be going back, too expensive. Will definitely be going back to Scrummy, the ladies were very pleasant.

A great, affordable sandwich and coffee house. The unit itself is small and there is only really enough space for a few people inside and out. However if you are on the move, or want lunch or breakfast this is a great place to come. They have a great variety of ingredients, breads and drinks (as well as homemade desserts!)

Amazing range of home baked cakes! The Biscoff pie was to die for. Lovely little gem in the heart of Braintree.

Our first time in Braintree so before our train home we had time. Seats very comfortable. Had a lovely pomegranite tea. The carrott cake was the best I have had in England. Lovely and moist and great cream cheese frosting...not too sweet.
