Good selection of dishes on the menu for this Italian restaurant near Braintree. The specials board also had a few extra dishes to choose from. I went for mussels for starters, and whole sea bream for main. My wife had the smoked salmon and the liver and bacon for her main. All of the dishes were really tasty. If I had one criticism I thought the bream was over seasoned. For dessert I would highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding. Definitely up there with the best sticky toffee puddings I’ve eaten. My wife had pecan pie which had a lovely crunchy pastry. Overall the mega was good, not outstanding but it’s better than your average Italian.

Went on a busy Saturday evening, luckily they'd had a cancellation. Restaurant was lovely & busy, so quite noisy when chatting. Had pre dinner drinks at our table & weren't rushed to order & I went with a couple of suggestions from our server. The scallops in bacon were cooked perfectly & the lobster quadroni was delicious. Followed by liver & bacon and Monkfish, both dishes very tasty, though my partner said liver wasn't pink but still very good. Just had to try the bread & butter pudding, as made with Brioche, my favourite alongside Panettone B and B. It was brilliant! All in all a lovely evening, not rushed, no long wait for food but nice timing between courses. Definitely recommend & we will return - so many amazing starters I'd love to try !

Great venue, excellent food and incredible service. Popped in for Mother's Day (managed to squeeze us in with only a weeks notice) and had the set three course meal. Managed to swap starters with another choice with no issues. Good was good, and the lasagna was incredible. The service was fast and great too. I'd definitely go back, will recommended.

Great food on the way from Stansted to Ipswich for the football. Staff were really friendly-it was just what we needed. A great discovery!

A very nice meal and they accommodated us, about 10 minutes befire the kitchen closed and half hour before closing that afternoon on Jubilee Saturday. We paid about £33 per head including a couple of largers and white wine spritzers. We tipped separately. If you want quality then try 47.

Always great food. Very cold night but was toasty inside. Lovely staff as always. Only time I have 3 courses because it's so tasty.

We have eaten here a number of times over the years, and visited again yesterday for a joint birthday meal, excellent food and drink, and brilliant service from the staff especially with out 2 and a half year old. Excellent covid procedures in place

Always a great meal at 47The Street. Everything freshly cooked and they are so accommodating with dietary requirements. The roasts are perfect, beef perfectly cooked, and lots of it with plenty of fresh vegetables. Skate special was divine, as was the linguine and Veal Chop. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Book in advance.

First visit to this wonderful restaurant. Cannot believe it has taken me so long to discover this oasis. Everything was absolutely perfect from front of house welcome, fabulous menu selections, very friendly and attentive staff and incredibly cooked and presented food. Great selection of beer and wines. I enjoyed arancini nibbles, cannelloni to start, veal chop for main course and for dessert home made tiramisu which was sumptuous. Have already booked our next visit. I suggest you do the same.

I'd never been here before but we decided to go after a recommendation. I was really pleased initially by the fact you can park your car opposite... On arrival we were welcomed by a number of attentive staff and shown to our table. The service from the off was excellent. The decor is maybe a little tired but once service began I didn't give it another thought. I felt the menu/options were really good, a perfect mixture to satisfy everyone. I was impressed by the number of fish dishes on the menu and opted for Skate which is a fish you can really identify freshness... Mine was absolutely lovely. The dessert menu is also varied and pleasingly all home made including the ice cream! Really enjoyed my creme brulee. Overall, this is one of the nicest meals I've had in a long while, although not cheap, I felt the quality of the food reflected the price. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant for a nice couples evening out or a get together with friends... Wonderful food and service, what's more to like.

The food was above average and the service was really nice, but the portion sizes were not big and 3 of us spent £160 in about 90 mins without making any effort. It was an amazing amount considering that we drank two bottles of wine, a double whiskey, and a glass of wine. We would recommend, but be prepared to pay.

Went there for a Tuesday night birthday celebration. This old village public house has a cosy atmosphere and attentive staff but best of all was the food. No complaints from carnivores or vegetarians and everything got eaten, though vegans may of been disappointed with the menu. Lots of compliments about the house red as well, could do with a decent ale/beer on tap for those that don't love lager but otherwise couldn't fault it.
