Single meal experience on a Friday evening. Lovely welcome, friendly and chatty. Massive portion of chips and a really nicely cooked fish in excellent, consistently fried batter of a uniform thickness. This was an *excellent* fish. The chips were slightly small and had coalesced a little but I'm applying very high standards here. Peas excellent. Curry sauce a little insipid. A really solid 4 star chippy which I'd go back to any day of the week.
Pay cash if you can because it helps them out (but they do take cards of course).
Fish cooked fresh to order, good potion of chips. Service was v polite. Donner kebabs available Thursday, Friday & Saturday which is a great addition to the already varied menu.
It’s a takeaway fish and chip shop, and they do that very well. Great quality fish and chips, and lots of other things on the menu too, including gherkins and fish cakes, which kept the various members of our party happy. The staff are always friendly, and I’m sure we’ll be going back soon.
We were stopping in next village and this place was recommend to us by the owner and we weren't disappointed.
The girls Lucy, Chelsea and Daisy were just the nicest . The establishment was very clean the food really tasty and cheap.
Lucy was a wonderful character and was very informative on the area when we asked if there was somewhere with a view not too far away to take them away to eat. We weren't disappointed we went to Surprise car park about 10 mins away and Lucy was right the food was still hot as they had double wrapped them for us.
We are definitely going there next time we are visiting their boss should be very proud of those girls
Nice tasty chips, the onion rings also nice. Didn't get to try the other items but the kids fish bits and chips was very good value

Good food. Great value for money. And they’ve got vegetarian options too - this was very handy, coz my husband’s a vegetarian, and I eat fish.

Very nice find to stop by for a quick bite of fish&chips while exploring Peak District.
Perhaps one of the best attempts at this British fast food staple I encountered during my trip throughout the UK: most of all fresh and juicy, as well as properly coated and fried the right way.
One slight downside of this property is no inside seating whatsoever - there's a bench with table on the pavement outside, but no way to eat locally if the weather gets adverse. Other than that, there's no room for complaining.
Oh, they take both card and cash, but entice you to use the latter. But the ultimate choice is yours after all, thankfully.

Great fish and chips - can be a very long queue at peak times.
Came here this time after first waiting for fish at Castleton for 15 minutes. Served quickly with a smile and lots of chat. Food easily as good as Castleton but a lot less queuing.
AMAZING! Best fish and chips I've had in ages and just what we fancied on a cold January night in our caravan in nearby Castleton. Freshly cooked fish as you walk in with a really friendly team serving. Love the gravy too. Will be back next time we're in Derbyshire. Thank you.

Utterly Fabulous Fish & Chip shop...
We stayed in Bradwell village, Derbyshire for a week and after the first visit to the chip shop, we could not resist returning at any and every opportunity.
Whilst on the second week of our holiday, in a different area.. we returned to the village and of course, the chip shop... we were missing it.
Everytime the chips were; fluffy, crispy and super tasty.
So in short... The staff were all friendly the food was always AMAZING and the price was very good too.. Plus they decorated for Halloween.
We totally recommend Fishcakes, Scallop, Sausage in Batter, the Curry Sauce and the Gravy... Not forgetting the chips...
Give it a go... you will not be disappointed....
