So after all the recommendations. And YahyaRawat endless harping on about how great this restaurant is, I traipsed up to Bradford to be dissapointed by yet another 'fine dining' wannabe. I arrived for lunch and although severely late was still greeted with a smile. Shown to my table I was asked if I wanted a drink.
Drink served, we went through lunch options. Starters was a truffle gnocchi. I was told that this recipe was different from normal gnocchi. It was amazing, a wonderful depth of flavour coming from the morrels trumpets and truffles. The gnocchi had a pleasant light texture, a joy to eat...not heavy or stodgy as you would find normal gnocchi. I was given complimentary ciabatta baked in house, lightly toasted with seaweed butter again delightful. You can't go wrong with warm toasted fresh bread can you??
Mains I went for the salt Marsh lamb with aubergines and kale. This has to be the absolute star dish. The meat cooked how the chef intended it to be served, Was beautiful tender moist and melt in the mouth. The aubergine was out of this world a flavour that I hadn't come across and two ingredients I would never would have put together. The dehydrated kale was wonderful adding texture to the dish and pickled onions cutting through the whole thing with a bit of acidity. If anyone knows me, they know I don't do Meat. This however is now a firm favourite. When I go back and find its not on the menu I will be very unhappy.
Dessert was bakewell tart. I had the unfortunate event of having a horrendous bakewell tart being bought for me from bakewell. The bakery need to take lessons from the chef here, as this bakewell tart was nothing short of perfection. Crumbly pastry, the right balance of jam and almond finished off with strawberry ice cream with pieces of strawberries running through, strawberries that actually transported you back to your childhood. A strawberry jam and chocolate soil.
I couldn't leave without having a chocolate fondant. A true testament to any fine dining institute is to get out a perfect fondant and this one didn't fall short of my expectations. Oozing hot chocolate beautiful delicately flavoured salted caramel ice cream with pieces of sea salt running through. And of course the sharpness of cherry jam cutting through the richness of it all. My only gripe...more cherry jam please. For those who don't like it. You have no idea of what your talking about.
I was so impressed with my experience here in the afternoon that having met my cousin in the evening and discussing cona she wanted to pay a visit. I seriously didn't have a problem with this. I ended up with the seabass with cooked just right with a crisp skin and baby stem broccoli along with a spinach creme. A lighter meal put together for me as I had literally visited them hours earlier. Dessert this time was a strawberry cheese cake...but don't be fooled by the average name. Nothing is average here.
This restaurant certainly lives up to its hype. My faith in halal fine dining is restored. I could not find fault with the food or the knowledge of the chef creating these wonderful plates of the most fantastic flavours. Everything is as it should be.
The price is as expected with fine dining a little on the expensive side, but as with anything you pay for what you get. The finest, freshest ingredients are one of the reason the plates sing and dance with amazing flavour and flair. You can't get the nostalgic childhood flavour of strawberry from a pound a punnet from asda. Not to mention the time, care and processes it needs to be made into a delightful dessert.
What makes this place even more special is the passion and dedication shown by the owner and creator of these exemplary dishes. The sourcing of the finest ingredients, the skill and knowledge required to put these dishes together completely self taught. Which in my opinion is the highest form of dedication to the mastering of his craft, and mastered it he most certainly has. This place is certainly at the top of my favorites and I shall be visiting this place again very soon...breakfast tomorrow morning!
This place is absolutely amazing , if you like to get adventurous with your food and want some fine dining this is your place . Service like non other , welcoming and friendly staff . A real treat is this place , highly recommend
#Cona #Bradford
First visit this evening.
Great food, the steak was perfect! The mushroom gnocchi and the lobster mac and cheese were beautiful too
Great service.
Would have been even better with a bottle of red haha.
Finally got to try Cona well worth the wait delicious food Short ribs and a beef fillet amazing but the Chocolate fondant to die for
The best place me and my wife have eaten. Worth the drive over from Huddersfield and in my opinion better then all places in and around the Huddersfield area. Staff was great to us and looked after us. 10/10 it was will be back
Excellent food. If you love steak then it's definitely worth visiting. Maybe the menu can offer non steak lovers a wider selection. All the dishes were a delight especially the prawns/chicken tempura and the chicken yakitori.
Absolutely fabulous service, food and place! Everything was perfect from start to finish. Would recommend everyone to go.. Best restaurant in bradford by far!
Lovely chill atmosphere, attentive staff and lush food. A little pricey but well worth it. We'll be back!
Starters: Chicken tempura and salt marsh lamb chops
Main: USDA prime corn fed sirloin for us both, cooked just how we liked
Dessert: chocolate fondant with salted caramel ice cream
Cona has such a lovely atmosphere, the food is amazing and so is the service. Thoroughly
enjoyed the food and the dessert recommendation by the chef. Would definitely recommend it to people!
Absolutely amazing food, quite expensive so more for special occasions but absolutely worth the hour drive! The starters are out of this world
Hats off to Amin!
Husband and I are still talking about the outstanding meal and service we had Saturday night.
Already planning our next trip (we live 2 hours away).
Never eaten halal steak that good or had such exceptional customer service. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Our jaws dropped with every dish we tried. Amazinggggg
Celebratory meal with my Husband this evening. Lovely atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic food very well executed dishes beautifully presented. Will definitely be visiting again.
Amazing food, really enjoyed the sunday lunch tasted so good. The staff were lovely and friendly. Was a special treat for hubby and thank you so much for his complimentary birthday cake :)
Went for the first time today and Alhamdulillah everything was beautiful. Went as we group and tried the Sunday Roast. We got 3 courses with a mixture of the tempura prawns, chicken tikka, truffle tagliatelle, lamb chops and prime rib bao buns for starters.
For the mains we got the roast dinners in all 3 options of dry aged beef, lamb and chicken. Each option was amazing in its own way.
Everything was absolutely beautiful and the taste was 10/10. The service was amazing- fast and friendly. We enjoyed every minute of today’s Lunch and will definitely be going again inshallah.
Cona Restaurant: A Sunday Roast Delight
My second visit to Cona Restaurant proved to be just as delightful as the first. This time, I indulged in their Sunday Roast, and it was a culinary masterpiece. The presentation was beautiful, and the taste was even better.
From the succulent meats to the perfectly roasted vegetables, every element of the Sunday Roast exceeded my expectations. The options available were plentiful, allowing for a personalised dining experience tailored to my preferences.
What truly sets Cona apart is its impeccable service. From the moment I made my booking on OpenTable, the staff ensured a seamless and enjoyable dining experience. Attentive yet unobtrusive, the service was a testament to the professionalism and dedication of the team.
I highly recommend Cona Restaurant to anyone seeking a top-notch dining experience. Whether it’s for a special occasion or a casual meal, Cona consistently delivers outstanding food quality, a diverse menu, and exceptional service.
Finally visited after hearing years of so much hype, and glad to say it lived up to our expectations. Visited with my wife and two daughters after a hiking trip in the Yorkshire Dales. My wife enjoyed the Sunday Roast. I ordered 3 desserts two satisfy my sweet tooth. Loved the Bakwewell Tart with Pistachio ice cream. Got chatting to the very kind owner who also treated us to another dessert off the menu, rounding off a great afternoon. Definitely coming back to try more!
So glad this place exists…
No I mean that seriously…from someone who adores his steak and probably makes it every other week. Cona seriously deserves it's recognition.
Location/Decor:
- Honestly I love how simple and noir-esk the location is, literally gives the correct vibes of being luxury the moment you walk in
- The staff were honestly brilliant considering I came on a Wednesday night and had issues with traffic coming from manchester, they were accomdating my late arrival
- The manager gave enough advice on food choices if we were unsure which is helpful
- Seeing the dry age fridge ...if you like steak then it's a treat to see one lol
- Tables were as they should be, every dish the staff would come and clean the table ensuring we had everything we needed
Food
- If you like steak...defo spend a lil to try something different
- I had the 70 day dry age steak and can honestly say the cook was perfect medium rare, buttery and tender
- The peppercorn sauce had a nice hint of spice with the bone marrow
- Sticky toffee pudding is 100% a must
- I was given a choice to choose my own knife...never had that experience and I'm not complaining
- Really can't complain about the food, seriously top notch
- Two starters - one main - side - dessert is plenty of food
I do and can appriecate this may be on the "higher" spending side for steak for some..but honestly if you are a gueine lover of steak...you can't go wrong. They've nailed a lot of things in this place. Yes it's expensive but the service and food that's provided, I don't fault it. A basic steak...yeah I'd rather make that at home...but dry age is a lot harder to acquire and these lot really have nailed the art of fine service.
The best fine dining spot ever! The quality of the food is unmatched. The wagyu steak is amaaaazing! The service was also so good, we were greeted by the owner who always goes out his way to speak to everyone and we were served by Rumel who went above and beyond, a great asset to Cona. Highly recommend Cona to everyone.
Moody chic vibes, friendly staff. Very tasty food, highly recommend the Caviar Sole - divine. Price point is a little high considering portion sizes. Seems like a popular joint in Bradford and has certainly made a name for itself. Very very slow service on the day - which staff were constantly apologetic for. A complimentary something or another wouldn’t have gone a miss for the inconvenience. A 3 course meal did take in excess of 3.5 hours… the first course took over an hour and 20 to arrive - by the end of dinner we were exhausted. Nice touch with the hand written birthday card.
Very few places can hold a candle this place in terms of food in the whole of the UK. Top Dubai style steaks and everything else to a very high standard... The Sunday roast veg and Yorkshire puds were great with my fillet, although I would have liked the triple cooked chips (but will have to visit on another day etc The Bao buns and the beef ribs were another level ....awesome food..
Great tasting steak. Excellent service.
Pricey but you get what you pay for, a premium wagyu melt in the mouth steak.
So I was told this is the best steak restaurant in the country…
And boy was it!!!
We drove up from Birmingham to try Cona and i cannot express how amazing it was, our host was the owner. He was absolutely amazing.
If you’re a lover of good food this place is for you.
The steak was cooked to perfection and was the best quality I’ve ever had. The flavours was amazing with items I’ve never had before.
So we were about to leave before dessert but our host made us try the cheesecake and I’m so glad he did. It was honestly the best cheesecake we had. I would 100% recommend Cona.
Thank you
Great food always. Great service always. A wonderful treat every time. Well looked after. The crispy duck was excellent. Veal so soft and buttery and the steaks are perfect every time. You cannot go wrong with this place. Joyous meal every time.
Genuinely the greatest steak experience i have ever had. Hands down the best steak in bradford, yorkshire & potentially the entire UK. Real wagyu, the highest quality meat.. you can see the attention to detail in every dish & the service is impeccable. Not only is it a place to eat but its an entire experience. The best restaurant i have ever been to 👏
What can I say that hasn't been said already about Cona restaurant. A hidden gem that I would gladly travel miles for. The ingredients locally sourced. Meat sourced from around the world and high grade quality produce. No stone is left unturned here. If ever a restaurant looked at your specific needs this is it. This is one restaurant you will walk away from thinking when will I be back. I travelled from Birmingham to Bradford, ate and drove back. This is how good this restaurant is. Armi absolutely makes this place the crown jewel of all restaurants in the UK. Someone that is passionate about food and service and delivering on all fronts. This does come at a cost and premium but I can safely say its worth every pound. Staff here are attentive and will tweak things as appropriate if you ask them. I could go on all day about each individual dish and it packed full of flavour but you need to try it yourself to believe it. Thanks for always looking after us Armi (and the Cona Team). Looking forward to the next trip already
The last time I came to Cona was 3 years ago, thankfully the experience was a great deal better this time so I doubt I will wait so long again. The staff were very warm and knowledgeable about the food and the manager was very helpful with our order. Good food although we only had the Sunday sampler which was nice... looking forward to times to come
Cona Restaurant is an exquisite haven for beef connoisseurs! From succulent steaks to mouthwatering specialties, their menu is a celebration of high-quality flavors. The culinary experience surpassed expectations—the dishes were incredibly tasty.
What truly elevated our visit was the exceptional service. The staff, particularly the owner, exuded professionalism and genuine hospitality. Celebrating my wife's birthday here was made unforgettable by the amazing service we received. Cona Restaurant isn't just about remarkable food; it's a place where warmth and expertise blend seamlessly, creating an unforgettable dining experience.
The service of the staff and the friendly nature at Cona, especially Ali, is what makes this restaurant thrive. The experience was very personable and although you expect the service to be top tier for the price point, the staff go above and beyond.
The chops for starters were the most succulent chops I’ve had and the Japanese Wagyu steak they served was divine.
Highly recommend this restaurant if you can afford to pay upwards of £100pp.
2nd time visiting Cona now. Service was great. We went for the Sunday roast. Lobster ravioli and lamb shawarma starters were on point. Although we asked for medium well we got medium rare. No biggie still nice cuts of meat and great accompaniments. Will go again.
Great night out. Had the Australian wagyu for two with mushroom/peppers and Mac n cheese. The wagyu came with triple fried chips.
Had the ribs ..melt in the mouth style with a beautiful sauce that made u do a lil happy dance 😃
Overall, top service as waiting staff don't badger you when you have a mouthful for feedback on food. Which I think is very thoughtful.
100% recommend this place, book in advance and go spend some money on some quality tasting food.
