Loved it! Visited the area for a day of hiking and stopped here for lunch. It came recommended and I can see why! Stunning building (with an incredible tree surrounding the front door!), beautiful interior and a gorgeous sun trap garden out the back. The food was absolutely delicious! A bit on the pricier side, but well worth it — I’d rather pay a little more for great quality. Superb, very friendly and attentive service from George and Lulu, they’re a credit to the team! It’s great to come to a really decent pub with a nice feel to it. Warm and welcoming, not snobby or chaotic. Currently enjoying a glass of wine before I hoof it back to the campsite. I live relatively nearby, so I’ll definitely be coming back again! :)

We had previously dined at the King's Arms and it was absolutely awesome. We decided to try their Sunday roast on the strenght of the regular daily fare and that proved a winning choice also. I was keen on extra meat so got the Roast Beef with a serving of Pork added. This proved to be absolutely delicious cooked to perfection and probably the BEST Sunday Roast that we have enjoyed in Britain

Went for a family lunch, probably one of the best pub meals I've had! Great service and a fantastic place to visit. Full or charm and history. We took our puppy and he was most welcomed. I'd definitely go again. (No open for food on Mondays, chefs day-off!)

We booked in for just one night and all staff were so welcoming. Room was beautiful and clean and we had the best nights sleep in the comfiest bed. Our evening meal of steak was cooked to perfection and breakfast in the morning was just as good. Pretty gardens to sit out in and enjoy a drink - we felt perfectly relaxed. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Everything about my experience here was amazing. Loved the decor. EXCELLENT service. The selection on the menu was really great — Lots of meat, fish and veg options so can cater to everyone’s diets.

Stayed one night, a beautiful pub with good beer, landlord kept the bar open whilst me and 2 locals enjoyed the night. Would definitely recommend. The pictures don't do this place justice, such a beautiful place

Absolutely first rate food. Prepared to order. Very flexible to customer preferences. Lovely historic inside. Toilets notably clean and fresh smelling. Wonderful views outside. Set in beautiful countryside. Air B&B accommodation too. Dog friendly (while we were chatting and waiting for our order, a bowl of water was delivered for Golden Retriever!) and also family friendly too. Visited Saturday late lunchtime. For example: I wanted fish and chips BUT hold the chips, substitute salad instead. Not a problem. Excellent really fresh fish and lovely salad. Not had a better fried fish anywhere. 10 min drive off main road. Signed at the junction. Worth every minute of detour on our way to Pontypridd from Reading. Left feeling rested, relaxed and restored after a propper meal. Will be visiting again.

Great menu, friendly staff. Recommend the ‘Viking Table’ in the garden! The most beautiful wisteria by the front door almost justifies a visit by itself!

Had Sunday lunch with friends, lovely location and village and beautiful old building. Sensibly limited menu, but the four of us went for the 'Hereford Rump' roast. As good a cut of meat as I've every tasted and plenty of well presented veg and Yorkshire pudding. Staff very personable, absolutely nothing to complain about. Couldn't manage a pudding but friend had an excellent and unusual cheesecake which was simply divine. Owner came round to check all ok ,(nice touch), I said the meal was great and he said "please give a review", so here it is. An hour's drive from us, so can't just pop round, but will be back.

We had our first sunday roast in The King's Arms in Monkton Farleigh. And it was delicious. Of course as it was our first we could not compare it, but this will be a great standard! The pub is a cosy place to wine or dine. The staff is helpfull and friendly. I asked for a beer named The Ripper, a craft beer. The waiter suggested I took a sample first. He also explained to us what a sunday roast is in a humorous way and made any suggestions. We took them and it turned out great advice. Th owner (I reckon) came for a little chat and asked if we would give our opinion on the roast. Well, hereby!
