My mum came across this place as most other restaurants were full in Bradford a few weeks past. (After living in Bradford for 14 years I have no idea why we haven't been before) she said she had a lovely experience and so booked the Five of us in on a Thursday evening for my dads birthday. The food was amazing and the service was honestly the best I've received in a long time. My partner works in the bar industry and even down to how the wine was served was impressive. Complimentary pre-starters were brought to us first, a tasty curried carrot soup that came in an espresso cup. Then the starters we had ordered, the soufflé and the pâté were incredible. We were then brought a complementary grapefruit sorbet to cleanse the palette. A welcome surprise. Then on to the Main dishes, all of which were finished off and plates were licked clean. We had brought our own cake in so we didn't have any of the deserts, but they had many options that I would of been more than happy to demolish. Instead we had a few beautifully made coffees and our cake as we finished off our lovely evening in front of the fire. I couldn't recommend it enough and will be definitely back again soon. What a fabulous find! Beautiful place and sitting in the garden drinking cocktails in the sunshine was heavenly. Such wonderful staff and the food was amazing. Stayed overnight in the Rosemary Suite and continental breakfast in the room made it feel like a really relaxing little break. We will definitely be back and bringing friends. �
A lovely pub bought back to life. A great atmosphere and from how busy it was I'd say very popular too. We had a table booked, definitely worth doing on busy nights.
The food is superb, we had scallops, game terrine, belly of pork and the fish hotpot. All of it was of the highest quality and personally the pork was probably the best I've eaten in a long time. It was cooked perfectly and tasted superb, a really good rich flavour. I'd also recommend the game terrine which was amazing.
The George has managed to pull together a lovely welcoming atmosphere, attentive and friendly service topped off by the best food around. We love what they have done with the place and the open kitchen.
Went is last night with two friends for dinner. From the moment we were greeted to the moment we left I was in love with this place. The lady on front of house was fabulous and her wine recommendation was spot on. The food was delivious, I had selected from the special menu before I had even looked at the main menu. Pigeon followed by venison. An absolute treat.
Only thing I'd change, and my god is it minor, but replace the salt and pepper shakers with real grinders!
Popped to the George on a bit of a whim last night after hearing good things. Luckily they had a table for two! From start to finish, our experience was thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were lovely and friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing and the food was delicious. We had three courses. I massively recommend the roasted cod!
Called in as we were passing on our way back from the bath xmas market, and really pleased we did...The food was amazing and the staff couldn't do enough for us...we would happily recommend this pub to anyone and everyone..
Quaint English pub with fantastic accomodation. The staff are super friendly and the food is high restaurant grade. A pure gem.
We went on St. Valentine's Day, our 30th wedding anniversary. The food, ambience and service were excellent. Alex the chef excelled with the menu choice and each course was cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly, attentive and courteous. Ali has obviously worked hard to get the ambience just right, and succeeded. The George has a cozy, friendly feel. A place that shouldn't be missed!

The staff helpful (booking a taxi for us to get to the Wiltshire live music venue ontime) and informative, the wine with the meal was delicious. my only let down was that I couldn't finish my sticky toffee desert due to time restrictions of the taxi arriving.
One almost perfect (my timing) experience.
We will definitely be going again soon.
Every so often you just by chance go for a meal at a local restaurant right on your doorstep why why why did we not know about this little gem this was our annual AFK / Stoned F bands Christmas dinner , I am struggling to think of a negative ! Food staff chef give a 100% we would recommend the George BOA . Merry Christmas everybody .
Spent a relaxing couple of hours yesterday afternoon enjoying the best afternoon tea I've ever had. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the food was fantastic. Highly recommended, I will definitely be back.
Just been here for the first time for lunch with parents for a sneaky mid week treat. Utterly lovely meal - super tasty, nice interior and lovely staff :-D

Had a lovely 3 days at the George. Anthony the manager and head chef really was a delight,great meet and greet, good fun to talk to and of course, provided excellent meals. Adam also a chef provided breakfast that lasted till dinner,large and very tasty . We stayed in the thyme suite ,really quirky, on two levels ,a delight. The service from all the staff was first class ,thank you Anthony ,Adam and all for a lovely stay.
We visited the George on Friday night for dinner. The food was incredible! We all had beef wellington which was delicious! Staff were so friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to visit again!
Grate food here at the George pub. Really enjoyed the food, the chef seems to be a real Human and the Owner dose a great meet and greet. I noticed it had a 5star for hygiene. Lovely young lady was working hard in the service side of things keep up the good work.

Some of the best food I've ever had! The owners were really lovely as well, and managed to fit us in without a reservation and took the time to chat with us when we said we were moving to the area. We will definitely be back!
Excellent Sunday lunch. Great choice of very well cooked food and generous portions.

Stayed for two nights last week (April '23).
Apparently The George has recently changed ownership and is offering a new menu.
The accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable.
Breakfast, included, was more than we could manage and negated the need for a lunch other than a sandwich!
We ate both evenings in the restaurant and both times the meals were excellent, probably costing a lot more in other establishments, for the quality of food delivered.
Martin, Courtney and all the staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. Thank you all for a nice short break.
I came in for a quick business lunch and the service was brilliant. Staff were friendly and the food smelt amazing. I aim to come back soon to try it out! The pub garden is lovely. I'll be back!
Hidden gem, great staff. I had the venison Sunday roast, absolutely delicious, massive portion.
Went for a family evening meal. As a coeliac the gluten free options were top notch and highly recommended
One of the best meals we've ever had and we eaten at Michelin starred restaurants. Everything was perfect; the atmosphere, service, friendly staff and the food was exquisite. 100% recommend. Will definitely be back. In fact my partner said he'd gladly travel from Nottingham where we are from just to eat at the restaurant!
Only popped in for a quick pint, long way up a hill to reach but nice enough pub once you get there, decent beer but not great.
Had a great 2 day stay recently. We couldn't fault it at all. Great staff, very helpful, friendly, attentive and always with a smile.
The Rosemary Suite was spotlessly clean , comfy bed, quiet and with all amenities provided. Evening meal and breakfasts were really lovely. Tasty, well cooked, ample portions and again with great happy service.
Enjoyed it so much have already booked to return for the Bath Xmas markets in December.

The food in The George is excellent. I had Beef Wellington which was fabulous. I had white chocolate cheesecake for desert which was creamy and indulgent.
The staff are great and service attentive and efficient. The pub has a good, cosy atmosphere and pleasant surroundings.
I will definitely be returning!
Lovely place to eat. Almost open plan kitchen where customers can see chefs preparing food. Lovely food cooked correctly and presented beautifully. Staff very pleasant and attentive.
Starter price range about £8 to £10. Mains from about £17 to £25 Sweets from about £8 to £10 fair pricing for lovely food. Please see my pictures. Sauce smudge on edge of one plate was my doing and not chef/ waiter! I recommend, but to book in advance as it gets busy .
Fantastic food, lovely staff (couldn’t have done more for us). We had a large table of 16 people and still everything for everybody was perfect. Amazing Sunday lunch and catered especially for me who is gluten free.
Went to The George on Mothers Day and had an exceptional lunch. The staff were having a difficult day as only few staff in and so many covers. However you wouldn’t have believed it from a customer’s view. The staff were so friendly, as always, professional, and overseen by the most superb lady manager. The food was incredible, we all had Slow Roasted Pork Belly, simply gorgeous and cannot wait to eat here again. Daffodils to take home tied with Ukraine ribbon, what a lovely end to the meal.
