Wow! That's how I feel, wow.
Having driven past this beautiful old world pub many times we decided to actually go and see what it's like. We parked easily, went in through the lobby (complete with Christmas tree) then in to the bar and, wow, how gorgeous it is. A large Christmas tree, wooden beams, plenty of nice chairs and tables plus a roaring fire in a huge inglenook fire place.
The landlord served us with friendly chat and welcoming words. We only had a round of drinks but, for sure, we'll be going back to enjoy more and definitely to dine.
I cannot recommend enough this unexpected gem of a country pub... I wish it was my local!
Visited with a group of friends and family to watch the fantastic Bootsy Soul Band.
First visit to this lovely country pub, despite the weather conditions being awful the pub did everything possible to stage the event and maximise the enjoyment of its customers.
We all had a wonderful time and the service both prior to the event by John and on the day by his team was exceptional.
We look forward to a return visit, and hopefully the weather will be better to enjoy the garden area to its full potential.

A snap decision to go out and try something further a field. We had been told of a 30 min wait for food, which was not a problem. Food was lovely, nice and busy, we will definitely be returning. Neckoil went down a treat as well
Me and my wife went to the Manger with the motorcycle club I'm a member of.
Service was excellent food was very good.
And the timing of bringing out people's meals was also excellent considering there was 40 of us.
We did pre order our selection of meals before hand but even so still excellent.
I've heard that it's the same chef that's been there years.
So he must be doing something write and obviously they look after their chef as well.
So much so,
That I'm going to book and have my retirement there.
As they have a large function room out the back.
And looking at the generous portion sizes of meals served.
I would highly recommend giving this pub a go.
Fantastic food good wholesome home cooked and fresh, went 4th April at lunchtime party of four, we all left full only had main course but couldn't manage a pud, plates were well stacked, steak and kidney pud amust ,also chicken and leek pie, and belly pork. Thumbs up will definitely be dining again next time we are down from Yorkshire.
Super little pub, did a fantastic job of accommodating our birthday party and helped to make everything special for the birthday boy. Staff were very cheerful with nothing too much trouble.
Service was prompt, good choice of alcohol, food was nice with good portions.
Unfortunately we didn't have the best experience, our table which was for 17 people that was booked well in advance really wasn't suitable. A rectangle and a circle table were placed together meaning that people had their backs to others. The staff then changed it to a straight line but it really wasn't suitable for 17, they admitted that they forgot about the 2 highchairs as part of the table, but they were on the corners anyway so was a very tight squeeze for 15 people. In my opinion the booking really shouldn't have been taken if it was too many. After this was sorted the food was good. It seemed that my dad's main (pie) was forgotten about as all the meals came out and this came some time after. They were very good at bringing extra veg and gravy to be honest.
My roast pork was very nice and lovely roast potatoes.
All in all it was a little disappointing as this was for my parents 30th wedding anniversary.
Hopefully will come again as a smaller group to give it another try.
Just had a Sunday roast here, it was not only very good food but also excellent value for money. Pub has a lovely atmosphere and, with outside tables with views across the fields, will be an excellent place to visit when the weather is nice too.
We had a pre booked Christmas meal here, it was a little disappointing as we have had some lovely meals here before. My sister's Yorkshire was burnt and the roast potatoes were hard to cut. They were very busy and we should have mentioned it at the time but we just put it down to being overstretched. I,m sure our next meal will be fine.
Tried to find a table for two without pre booking. An they managed to fit us in for an amazing Sunday roast. Such a great atmosphere an friendly staff. Very reasonable price too. Will definitely return an book next time.. very grateful customers 🙏
Oh what a lovely Pub. Taken there for a pre -Birthday meal. There was a vintage car rally (TR owners club) in the outside area. Some very nice cars. Held regularly i believe ! Period property , timber beams and open fire places. Welcoming staff and comfortable seating. Food to an excellent standard, tasty and very well presented. No rush and attentive staff. Looking forward to returning again.
Lovely old pub. Very dog friendly. Had a bowl of water and a dog treat by the table. Will definitely be back.
I went there for our churches Christmas party meal, food was really nice and a decent portion.
The young ladies that brought us our food were very polite and friendly.
Will be taking my wife and family back there to have a Sunday roast at some point
Just stopped in for a refershment stop on a long journey. Unfortunately, we missed the food but had a drink but I must say the staff were great and helpful and the pub itself was beautiful a d the surrounding area looked amazing would be a fab summer pub destination

We were given the large room which was nice warm and comfortable.
The staff were terrific, attentive and the service was excellent.
The food was wonderful, it came out hot and tasted great.
Would recommend and go again.
Had our Christmas party here. Great pub, food and staff were spot on. And a great choice of beers ales and cider on tap. Will definitely be going back.
After driving past many times finally able to get a chance to have lunch. Pleasantly surprised beautiful historic building. Lovely outdoor seating area. Greeted by staff with a lovely smile was given rhe choice of four different tables. Excellent Malbec. Nice choice of sandwiches or baguettes fillings all served with chips & salad. Pleased to see gluten free options available. We were checked on a number of times feeling well taken care of. Will definitely be returning perhaps for an evening meal.
Held a family get together following funeral. The back room was fully packed and had seating for around halve of the people.
Great tasting food and value for money. Friendly and helpful staff. Not in your face just right amount of attention.
