Lovely restaurant, great for after a walk at Swinley. The staff were so helpful and kind, bringing water bowls for both dogs. It’s set up in a really lovely dog friendly way. The food was good, steak sandwich and a honey pot desert, the latter definitely for sharing as it was so rich but delicious.
Pie of the day (steak in red wine) slid down my throat like lube on a ski slope. Absolutely beautiful.
Just writing this makes me want to nip over there and spoon the pre cooked pies in the freezer until I'm nothing but a papa smurf looking corpse.
The Retriever is an English country pub located on the road Nine Mile Ride in Bracknell. The pub itself is well presented with ample seating inside and out with a closed marquee to the side of the pub. Staff and polite and friendly with the normal lagers on tap. The interior is spacious and relaxing
We went for lunch on bank holiday Monday. We booked online in the morning, and glad we did as it was busy. Service was a bit slow but this was possibly because we were behind a wall and not in sight of bar/kitchen area.

Had lunch there today. The food is outstanding....but what is off-putting is there is not really a lunch menu, so its too much food for the middle of the day.

It was very busy due to an offer on food which did make parking rather difficult. However despite being very full, the staff were great and the service was fast. Engin was our waiter and was very attentive, polite and very helpful. The Retriever is my go to for good pub grub at reasonable price

A wonderful country pub, went for a valentines day meal. The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was very relaxed and a wonderful relaxing setting. The food was incredible as always, and the staff made sure we had a great time from the moment we arrived until we left.
