Have just spent a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon at a private family birthday celebration in a separate room to one side of the pub . The food was excellent and the staff friendly and attentive . We had several young children in our party and the staff were very accommodating in providing their meals ahead of the adult meals to ensure they did not get too hungry or bored . A television in the corner provided a good diversion for them whist the adults enjoyed a leisurely lunch and afterdinner chat . The staff looked after us well without any pressure to leave or finish our celebrations . Certainly would recommend it .

We went in at lunchtime for a bite to eat, food was great and although we felt we hadn't waited long a female member of staff repeatedly apologised for the wait and in the end we were given either a discount or free drink... certainly didn't feel we waited long although only 2 members of staff about, who were constantly on the go, it was just lovely chatting and not feel cramped like other pubs.. definitely visit again, and recommend to friends

We were recommended to The Cricketers as we do not know the area. Meal and service was first class. Linda our waitress was a star. If you are going to Ascot can recommend you try The Cricketers.

We held our vowel renewal ceremony and reception at this beautiful venue. It wasn’t easy trying to coordinate everything when we live overseas but the wonderful staff at The Cricketers were amazing! Thank you for being so accommodating and for dealing with questions and requests so smoothly. We had the best day despite the extreme heat. This is the most beautiful venue and I loved the views of the fields from the back. Big thanks to Carly, Stuart , Jane and team. We will come back for a visit next time we are in the UK!

My husband and I visited here last night and the food and service was excellent the only thing I was a little disappointed in was the butter and oil/ vinegar was very small portions for the amount of bread you get but they didn't hesitate to get us more when I asked . I had the lamb and my husband had the special which was brisket which was lovely and we also loved the jam jar strawberries and cream and sticky toffee pudding we will definitely being visiting again Thank you for a great evening

Booked an early Christmas dinner for a group of 16, the pub not only bought forward their Christmas menu for us they decorated the table and made it festive for us. The food and service was fantastic, couldn't fault it, thank you Carly and the team :-)

For those who follow me on Facebook know I love nothing more than a good Sunday roast and have eaten many in the Berkshire area. This is probably the best roast dinner I have ever eaten. The service is great and the ambiance is lovely especially this time of year. My husband and I both had the roast beef and it was a great cut of meat, no fat to cut off and cooked to perfection. The roast potatoes had a lovely herb flavour to them and the vegetables still had flavour instead of being boiled to death. Particularly liked the parsnip cubes and Yorkshire pudding. Will definitely visit again!!

Been here many times either for food or just to drink, lovely place, nice quirky staff and nice wines. Went to the New Years party last night and the dj was great and we had nice food. Will definitely go again.

We booked online, at very short notice. We were met at the restaurant area and shown straight to our table (2 adults & 1 nearly five year old). Food was fantastic and arrived quite quickly. Staff were very friendly, chatty and helpful. Good selection of beers. We would definitely visit again and recommend to others.

Great food in a beautiful location with great friendly service. A little let down by the ladies toilet experience but overall I would go back in a heartbeat. The braised lamb spring roll was soo tasty! And a lovely charcuterie platter served on some huge cheesey crackers which were delicious.

Visited this lovely hidden gem of a country pub/restaurant for a family meal and couldn't have been happier with our experience. The service and atmosphere was excellent, very friendly and welcoming. Our meal was cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced. The outside seating area is really well designed and looked after, ideal for a summer evening...with plenty of safe spaces for the kids to play. They even have a small keg of water for dogs! Which we thought was a nice touch, so very dog friendly also. Some excellent beers on tap as well. We will definitely be visiting again. Thank you!

Very nice accomodating staff (at short notice), lovely roast dinner (great potatoes). The chocolate mousse should be called 'vegan mousse' (rather than just VG in brackets).. it was ok but not great, though I was being fussy until i saw 'vegan mousse' on the bill. All in all I would recommend this pub for Sunday lunch.

Lovely staff, beautiful coffee, country surroundings... Overall one of the best places to go. Did I mention an amazing homemade sausage roll? Oh, and huge Eton mess desert? Yep, I need to go back for more...

What a fabulous pub. Loads of outdoor space with seating. There was a kids bouncy castle and two different seating areas. The car park is big too. Inside, the bar is small but plenty of staff to keep customers served quickly and happy. There is also a small room which can be hired out for private events. The restaurant is massive, tables set out with plenty of space around you. We had Sunday roast which was good. I'd come here again to sample more off the menu!

Nice Sunday roast with excellent service. A GK pub... not my favourite I have to admit... but enough beer choices to be able to dodge the IPA

Very fast service. Very tasty food & generous with the gravy. Lovely location. Acoustics of the restaurant isn’t great - bit noisy. But overall good experience!

Great country pub with good food. Slightly pricey but a good atmosphere. Lovely garden with ample picnic benches and a great football area with goal!

Discovered this gorgeous country pub whilst walking and loved the garden area perfect on a sunny day. Drinks were reasonably priced and decided to stay for lunch. The Sunday roast was superb and will return with the kids during the Summer.

Food was nice, but I had the vegetarian roast, which wasn't so great, looked like a sausage roll. Would have liked to have seen nut roast on the menu and more veggie options. Staff were friendly, even though one of them said I looked stressed when I arrived lol, I wasn't.

Nice lunch with friends. Service was super slow (some kind of mix up with the kitchen), but front of house staff very apologetic. The food was good when it arrived, and decent value. Would visit again.

I was here with a small party if friends on a warm May evening. Busy, but not so busy it was hard to get served or find somewhere to sit. A good few tables outside to enjoy the sun. Decor and appearance - modern and clean but still in keeping with the old, traditional pub Staff- friendly and attentive. Couldn't have asked for better wait or bar staff. Toilets- ok Beef dripping chips - amazing! Steak - overcooked Pork chop - overcooked Sausage rolls - delicious Fish and chips - Huge! Very nice Eton mess - big portion with good ratio of cream and meringue. Shame about the tinned strawberries when it's actually strawberry season. Chocolate mousse - not sweet at all, in fact it was a little bitter but this was offset by the sweetness of the strange, honeycomb slabs that it came with.

We really enjoyed our recent visit to The Cricketers. I’ve been informed the pub is under new management , and it’s clear to see. A warm welcome and great service throughout from the manager and his team. Our food was decent and certainly a great setting on a sunny day. Looks like we’re heading back to The Cricketers this weekend with some more freind. Cheers guys.

A decent pub with really good food and a decent range of drinks. The pub was very busy and it was a little bit difficult to order drinks at the bar, but that could be expected when the pub is full of people enjoying the sunshine.
