We spent a special intimate evening celebrating my Brother and Sister-in-laws Wedding at The Northey Arms. The food was excellent and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. A perfect end to a lovely day.

Booked the Northey for my grandfather's 91st birthday lunch. Despite being extremely busy, both food and service were excellent.

Staff very attentive, boss guy also...and nice chap...good selection of local ales and top beers - AA Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence 2014-15 - ive eaten here probably twice and it was really good, i'd go as far as to say that it wipes the floor with Marco Pierre Whites Restaurant up the road!....The curry house up the road is also really good, just thought id mention that!!!!

We visited this evening for my sons birthday, we had never been before but had it recommended by friends. We were not disappointed, I can honestly say the food was out of this world, I had the Barnsley lamb chop and all I can say is wow! Everyone else really enjoyed their meals, my child enjoyed the kids menu too. the waitress was very lovely & helpful. The whole place looks very nice, and has a nice big car park, and outdoor area with kids area. Perfect ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Perfect stay - service was exceptional, food was Michelin worthy (couldn’t believe the quality) and the whole place was bursting with character. Room was cozy and quaint and there were some great little touches (eg sleep mist spray by the bed and bottle of fizz in the fridge saying “this one’s on us”) We visited for work but well 100% return for a social trip.

Great burgers. We had beef and a vegan burger, we enjoyed them both and well priced. Plus fitted us in in busy day. We went for a walk and saw the beautiful old trees in garden later. Great pub.

We stayed here and ate at the restaurant too. What a fabulous inn. The room was spacious and great value (£200 for three nights - king sized room). But the dinner was the best bit. My steak was tender and perfectly cooked. And my other half said her dessert was the ‘best sorbet she’s ever had’. Would definitely recommend

Had a lovely 3 day stay in one of their comfortable mini holiday homes (rooms) at the back of their spacious lot which even has private parking. After checking in the friendly young lady told me the beds were especially nice, they are! The first train that passed shook the house but they aren't frequent and I slept like a king. Felt a bit chilly one night and turned on the heating, which turned the room into a sauna instantly, so I turned it down a couple of notches and was very comfortable once again. I had several meals at the pub and enjoyed all of them specially the shakshuka was a pleasant surprise (careful though, quite spicy so not for the fainthearted). The staff is very friendly, although some are a bit junior, the more senior staff is impeccably correct and attentive. There is a busstop opposite the pub which whisks you down to Bath for 4 pounds or so. Hang on tight! These bus drivers seem to believe the speed limit should be driven at all times resulting in a bit of a rollercoaster (the locals don't seem phased at all by this). There is a store up the road to Box at the petrol station which should cover any supplies you could need and on the way there I would recommend a quick walk around the beautiful graveyard and chapel on route. A bit further into Box there are numerous walking trails leading up the hills if you really fancy getting away from things or just a sturdy hike. In short, lovely place to relax and enjoy good food with Bath close by if you fancy a busy tourist destination.

The starters were very nice but the mains and puddings were a let down. For example, I ordered a burger. It arrived simply with a burger on a plate and a metal pot with some chips. The plate looked quite sorry for itself hence I didn't order the steak as this would have been the same. My pudding quite frankly tasted over cooked. But the restaurant and entertainment was awesome.

Stayed on a Friday night, staff where amazing, room was clean but no fan which seeing as it is 28 oc it was uncomfortable in the room. Food was lovely, fresh and tasted fantastic. The train line is 15ft from the window and extremely noisy when a train comes past, due to not having a fan we had no choice but to leave the window open. Could not hear the guests in the garden which was good news.

Wonderful seafood restaurant, plus a selection of non seafood dishes for those who prefer. More expensive than Rick Stein's seafood cafe in the town but less expensive than his seafood restaurant on the harbour front, and cheaper too compared to Paul Ainsworths at No 6 (also in the town and next to Rick's cafe). Be prepared to spend £50 pp and upwards at the Bistro and enjoy a superb meal.
