Although slightly garish looking from the outside, this is actually quite a welcoming venue on the inside. Naturally, if you can grab one of the tables with a view back across Lake Windermere, you will be greeted with a truly wonderful view whilst you eat. The menu is well priced in comparison to other eateries in the area, and there is a good selection for various appetites. My wife and I both went for a platter - Meat for myself, and Seafood for my wife. They were both excellent and left us both absolutely stuffed and feeling we had chosen well.

Fish & chips were absolutely spot on, really nice batter and well cooked. Mountain of wings with buffalo sauce that was very tasty. Always pop in here when we visit the lakes for a pint, first time we've had food. Will definitely be back

Really good Chilli spicy and hot Loved the rice. Loved the cheesey Nacho. Great pie lots of beef & gravy in it, just wished it had been shortcrust pastry. Crispy chips. Fresh veg. Perfectly cooked. Onion rings over cooked, could not eat them too hard. Wouldn't order them again.

Despite not being a big fan of fish and chips, I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed the dish at this restaurant. When my parents visited me from Thailand, I decided to take them to the Lake District. As my dad expressed a desire to try traditional English cuisine, we stumbled upon this lakeside restaurant without consulting any reviews. Not only were we treated to an exceptional view, but the food surpassed our expectations as well.

The Lake View is a dog-friendly restaurant with beautiful views across the Lake. The menu had plenty of choices available at reasonable prices as well. The food was presented nicely. It came out hot and was delicious! Would recommend to anyone looking for a good wholesome meal, friendly service and stunning views.

Nice restaurant with nice lake view, nice staff, and nice meals. I had the carvery plate. I asked the chef for a bit of everything (gammon, beef, turkey slices, many sides and condiments) - the portion was so big that I couldn't finish. I had to ask them to put my dessert into a box to take with me. Maybe I should have done the same with the leftovers of my main. Have to come back sometime.

Went here for breakfast and it was well worth it. Even had a slice of haggis on it. Main menu looked good and they do carverys. Have to go up stairs to the 1st level where the main restaurant is. Big windows give a great view of the lake and mountains. Up another level and there's another bar and outside seating area. Very nice. Check out the website as they also have live music on. Anyone having problems with stairs don't worry. They have a lift from the ground floor to the top floor where the toilets are. Very good range of drinks and ales and the staff are very friendly. Xx

Stopped here after seeing it reopened after being closed for many years. Food was stunning, especially the steak pie, full of meat. Very dog friendly as well which for us is the important part, just keep dogs on the hard floor, not the carpet areas. If you're lucky enough to get a seat by the windows you have a stunning view over the lake.

Lovely meal and fantastic customer service. Best views to have a meal and they allowed us to take 4 well behaved dogs into a quiet part of the restaurant. Absolutely highly recommend this as a place to eat/have a quiet drink

Nice big portions, you certainly won’t leave hungry, you get what you pay for and more. We sat upstairs as we visited with our dog whom they were brilliant with, providing her with a bowl of water. The atmosphere was comfortable and calm and there view over the lake is lovely. Also want to add that there were several vegetarian friendly dishes which was fab for one member of our party.

We went for the Sunday Carvery and it was amazing. Meat was tender and really juicy. Veg selection was good with mash, green beans, turnip/carrot mash, parsnips, roast potatoes, brocolli and cauliflower cheese. Also offered stuffing and GIANT crispy Yorkshire puddings. The whole thing was tasty and fresh. Would 100% recommend. Staff were all friendly and polite too.

Well I'm still here, so unless something drastic happens on my exit, it's been a nice place to have a beer and unwind after a walk. Lovely view over the lake, which should be expected based on the name. Didn't come here to sample the food, but it seems to have a variety of options. I would say the prices are based on the location, which is justified.

Everything about this place is brilliant. The greeting from the staff, a good selection of drinks, then you have the fantastic views of the lake. Best of all is the menu. The food is excellent. The chef Trevor has done a great job with the selection. I can strongly recommend the hand cut steak pie topped with puff pastry mixed fresh vegetables.

Lovely Sunday carvery with my partner staff were lovely especially the gentleman who served us our carvery. Lovely view of the lake and a reasonable price considering such a tourist location. Would stop here again.

The food and drink were great, it was pretty quiet compared to the last time we went there not sure if it's changed hands. I think some of the staff could do with smartening up a bit, they looked quite scruffy. The prices are quite steep for some of the food items and the windows need a window cleaner going round the outside so you can enjoy the views better. Not sure what's happened to the carpet but it looks really bad.
