There are plenty of eateries to choose from in Grasmere, but this one caught my eye! It's in a former Methodist chapel in the centre of the village. There are a few outside tables, and a pleasant and welcoming indoor space with a quaint timbered ceiling. Very quiet when I was there, but then it was a rainy Monday in March! The two young waitresses were attentive and friendly. There's a well stocked bar where you can get beer, wine, gin and a great choice of cocktails. I ordered a very refreshing apple and raspberry soft drink. The menu offered a good selection of sandwiches, pizzas, burgers and hot meals, and there were a couple of special dishes of the day. Ordered a chowder full of smoked haddock, leeks and bacon, topped with onions and a poached egg. There were other vegetables in it too, and it was served with two chunks of warm crusty bread. A delicious light meal, well cooked, and very warming on such a cold wet day! The bread was really soft and fresh too. There's a tempting selection of cakes and desserts. Dogs are welcome here, and you can get doggy treats and ice-cream for them. A nice place to have lunch if you're walking or sightseeing around Grasmere.

Brilliant cafe to visit if you're ever in Grasmere! Stumbled across Harley's and wasn't sure what to expect but really pleased we did! Staff were extremely helpful, and there was a great selection of tea/coffee, beers/wines/spirits, hot food and cake. They had the best selection of Gluten free cakes and puddings! The warmed up GF apple pie and ice-cream is excellent! Milkshakes looked great too! They're dog friendly, so make sure to pop in if you're passing!

A converted church , plenty of seating , some converted from original church pews , a licenced bar ,also serving hot and cold drinks. Snacks and meals served , I just had a cup of tea here Clean and tidy place , staff friendly and helpful. A unisex toilet, very clean. No parking on site , but limited parking free for one hour nearby. Set in the lovely village of Grasmere.

First place we jumped in after getting off the bus from bowness and was pleasantly surprise. Delightful service, ordered two children’s meals along with clumberland ham sandwich and Greek salad and potato wedges… would recommend. If you have a four legged friend they seems to be recommended.

This food is beautiful. Scotch broth and such amazing bread to accompany it. I’m a strong believer if they can get the basics right the rest must be lovely too. This place is dog friendly ♥️

Dog friendly. Loved the breakfast, I could have eaten more the only downside was toast not included so imo not a full breakfast. Went back for cocktails 🤪 and the milkshakes looked nice too. Staff really friendly. 3 stars for Atmosphere is purely because there wasnt many people there when we went, we will be going back.

A very nice full English in a lovely converted church, it's a nice place to sit and relax, if it wasnt for their choice of music which I will get to later in this review. It was quiet this morning when we visited but it does tend to get busy later on. There's plenty of options on their menu to suit most tastes, the only downsides are the fact that there is literally only one toilet and the music was Adele which personally I'm not a fan of. Having to sit and eat a nice meal listening to Adele screeching does not make for a relaxing atmosphere. I would have preferred just listening to some classical music which I think would have been far more fitting and appropriate with the church environment. Change your music!

Just came in for a coffee, but returned an hour later and had lunch. Staff very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The food was off the specials menu was delicious and very reasonably priced. It has a well stocked bar with a range of fraught beers. No need to look anywhere else!

Really Nice food, most decently priced restaurant in Grasmere. We had the dirty fries with duck and the Pulled pork on flat bread.
