Best fish and chips! Food was fresh and service was super quick. Seating upstairs but if there is a large group/tour booking then it is unavailable for everyone else. A couple of small 2 seater tables outside and a few window bar seats inside. Location in the heart of town so does get busy
We ate here as we were passing through. The batter on the fish was beautiful and light and the fish was so fresh. Nicest fish and chips I’ve had in absolutely aged.
Last night in the Lakes. What a delicious way to end it. Chips cooked to perfection without too many of the disappointing little chippy bits. Scampi delicious, but my wife's gluten-free fish was superb. Thank you Vinegar Jones.
Loved the fish and chips which we enjoyed walking by the lake it's about a 60 seconds drive managed gluten free with no problem . Advise you go at 7.30 then the lakes really quiet !
It was very busy and they were struggling to keeping tables and surrounding areas clean and clear. It was awful the mess people were making and leaving. The food was really and it was interesting to see all the famous people who had visited before. There were toilets but a wait due to how busy it wa
Wife had fish and chips I had battered sausage and chips we had a tub of gravy, curry and a mushy peas. Everything was perfect neither of us could find fault with any of the food. The service was fast and efficient and the staff were friendly enough. It is expensive compared to our local takeaways b
Amazing gluten free fish and chips. The batter was really light. The gluten free options are cooked fresh to order, and the wait for the food wasn't very long. Only downside is that the seating options were upstairs so we couldn't sit inside with my grandma. The food didn't seem very greasy either,
Only fish and chip shop in lake district that fries the fish separately and not with other meats. Also no beer in the batter. Brilliant service and no charge for the extra quality sauces. Eat in upstairs with tables and chairs. Highly recommend Thank you vinegar jones
Very average fish and chips, slightly expensive.
Ate from here multiple times whilst visiting! We had the battered sausage, curry sauce, mushy peas, fish and chips have never tasted chips like it!! It was that good we went back the next day! Takeout only but well worth the visit too! 👍🏻
We stay in the Lake District near Windermere once a year and for the last couple of years on a Monday afternoon ensure we have our fish and chips at Vinegar Jones. The consistency is amazing and this is our first visit after 12 months and we sat in the restaurant upstairs which was very clean and se
Found this place by chance and so glad we did. Friendly service, good choice, average price for the food, and one of the best fish and chips I've ever had, not greasy at all, the batter was light and crispy. Good size piece of fish. I had fish, chips, peas and gravy and the portion was a good size.
We had our lunch at Vinegar Jones while we visited Bowness on 17/06/23. We were quite hungry and wanted to have Fish & Chips. While walking towards the bus stop. We saw Vinegar Jones Fish & Chips. We walked in the shop and were greeted by Charlotte and Jack and other staff in a very polite and frien
Had fish, chips and peas as a takeaway, all of which were good ( though the peas could have done with being hotter ). It was a warm, sunny evening with lots of families about at half-term, so it took a while ( ~25 minutes ) to queue, order and get the food, which wasn't a problem, but bear it in mi
Family of four ordered Fish & Chips...never been here before, used the reviews to see what places were highly rated. I'm very pleased to say, the fish and chips here were amazing...fish was fresh and chips were equally freshly fried and served. For Muslims looking for a chippy, these guys have separ
