Classic Lake District tearoom with a great selection of cakes and pastries to go with morning coffee or afternoon tea. Visited early in the morning and the service was efficient, returned for lunch later in the day and it was much busier, but managed to find outdoor seating with the dog. There's a good range of lunch options, and you can make up your own sandwich, choosing from a range of fillings. Prices aren't cheap but not bad for a popular tourist area. The bakery also stocks cakes and bread to take home.

Never liked pies, but I have enjoyed the steak and kidney pie so much. It was delicious. It’s a great spot for people watching.

We called in here looking for some fresh baked goods to take on our journey home. The choices weren't great. The cheese and onion pasty was nice. The lemon dip cake was quite dry and had very little taste. Seems like mass produced bakery items that would get at a chain store disappointing much better food choices in the local area.

Wonderful place. The staff were really friendly and diligent when helping me to select some dairy free snacks. The cranberry and raspberry tea was yummy too. They also did a nice hot chocolate, which was perfect for a rainy day. I really like this chain, and given that I’ve visited different branches twice in one day, I’ll definitely be back!

We had the most amazing sandwich from this lovely little bakery. I was going to take a picture but unfortunately I ate it too fast! We were going to dine in but decided to get a sandwich from downstairs instead. It's like a posh subway! You pick what bread and what you would like on your sandwich but its just on another level! Amazing! Friendly and helpful staff. I would suggest a bigger bin to be made available for downstairs though as if you manage to get the table in the window once you have finished there is only a tiny bin to put all your rubbish in.

Yummy local food. The staff were superb with our children and the kids cleared their plates. I very much enjoyed the rarebit special. Food was served promptly and good portion sizes. Will return

A slice of lakeside Britannia. While not quite at the level of a patisserie or Viennoiserie, they manage a decent selection of calorific carbtastic cakes and sandwiches. There’s no meatball marinara to threaten the likes of subway but their stuffing is second to none.

I had the chicken with black pepper and lemon mayonnaise. Unlike other places the mayonnaise complemented the chicken instead of overpowering it. Also this is the only place I got a pot of filter coffee. We will definitely be back. It has taken us 3 years but we have been back, and it is just as good as we remember it.

Lovely cafe to stop and escape the rain. Had the soup and the toastie and both were really nice. Would go again next time we visit Windermere

+ Nette Bedienung + Americano und Schokokuchen waren sehr lecker - Ambiente ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen. Ist zwar Altertümlich, jedoch könnte man ein wenig aufwerten Aber bin rundum zufrieden. (Translated by Google) + Nice service + Americano and chocolate cake were very tasty - Ambiance is a little old. It's old-fashioned, but could be upgraded a little But I'm completely satisfied.
