This restaurant is tastier than I imagined. It’s my first time trying Indian cuisine since coming to the UK, and it suits my taste very well. The staff is also very enthusiastic; when we had too many dishes, they added an extra table for us. I don’t know why this restaurant only has a rating of 3.8, but I’m more than willing to give it a 5.
We came to Windermere on a family holiday, and came into Shahib’s absolutely dripping wet after being caught in a thunderstorm. H and the team were wonderful hosts, and very accommodating and helpful regarding my nut allergy. The food was very good and the service very quick. Very friendly staff and great food. Would recommend!
We stayed near Ulverston and were been on the look out for a restaurant which have good rating, good service & good food. I don’t for some reason any restaurant reviews I checked had a customer review as rude and not worth, on the other hand Shahib’s have better feedback. We decided to have our dinner 12miles away from where we stayed. As we entered there was a person who out of surprise asked you need to spend 18 pounds each minimum, tbh nobody ask this but he could have his reason, we ignored and got our seat. Other staff around were really good and polite, they came up took our order. We ordered chicken tandoori, chicken karahi, paneer masala, aaloo tikki and some naan. We really enjoyed the food it was delicious and made our travel all the way from ulverston worth coming. I would really recommend if you near windermere or like us 12 miles away and searching for a good food.

Good quality restaurant, had an excellent experience here. Food was very good with decent portion sizes. Good selection of all the usual Indian standards plus a range of specials we'd not come across before. Staff were great, and pricing reasonable. Note this restaurant is on an upper floor and is reached by several flights of stairs.Would recommend a reservation as it is popular.

Ordered a takeaway for collection on a Sunday night, everything was made for the time specified, lovely hospitality and atmosphere in the restaurant when we collected and food was absolutely gorgeous. The Peshwari naan was also a HIT! Definitely would order again.
Indian food here tastes really nice， 10/10 experience, tried chef special and masala, waiter is nice and friendly, introduced different sauce to us and recommended wonderful food!
Shahibs Indian food takeaway/dine in ... is definitely our absolute favourite .... when we're in Bowness on Lake Windermere. Never disappoints. !! The staff are very polite, the restaurant is nice inside too. Order taken efficiently.
We ordered poppadoms with mint dip, tender lamb tikka starter, very nice. My husband's chicken tikka with salad was delicious 😋 !! Tender, nicely flavoured chicken pieces, and my chicken tikka massala ... Well it was fab, generous portions and the flavour of coconut and almond was lovely too, rice nicely fresh and garlic nann bread ... All good. We will be back again ... on our next visit 👍 x
The service we had from this 1 guy was amazing. I didn't catch his name but he was great! My rogan josh was extremely spicy and so was my husbands madras. Lamb was disappointing but they changed it for me straight away. Naan was nice and the rice was lovely. We had a table of 9 and no complaints from anyone else! Decor was abit off.

Visited Windermere Marina Village and decided to have an Indian takeaway. Shahibs was outstanding. Chicken Jalfrezi. Chicken Pathia rice. Peshwari nan and onion Bajis. Very nice indeed. I will be returning before I go back home. Loved it. 5 stars. The staff we spoke to was very polite indeed. Many thanks.
Absolutely fabulous the food was amazing, I asked for a (staff curry) and the chef and staff went above and beyond to cater for me ,I can not recommend this place enough to anyone wanting a traditional Indian restaurant while in bowness 5 +⭐️
We were visting the area and needed something that was both halal and knew what foods were gluten free and which weren't
Thankfully when we rang do enquire if they do gluten free foods or aware what foods don't contain gluten they appeared knowledgeable and pointed us to which items we could order
We ordered over the phone and collect within 30 minutes or so
There was only a short wait once we arrived.
Food was well cooked and tasted really good

Shahib's is a very authentic Indian restaurant at a very good location. Absolutely enjoyed the High street view alongside our lunch. The Chef speciality Chilli chicken masala curry was full of flavors and the Nan breads were good as well.
The rice quantity was very small. But a good experience overall. The staff looks after you well.
We had a take out which I was really impressed with. On first impressions I wasn’t expecting much but the food was incredibly good. The portion sizes were excellent and it was really reasonably priced with the collection discount applied. I’d highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala
Professional members of staff who were very friendly and welcoming. Excellent food and drink menu. The food was brilliant. Very comfortable seating areas. Highly recommended when visiting Bowness on Windermere.
Firstly the staff were fantastic, super friendly, polite and funny. The restaurant was big bright and clean with a lovely atmosphere and good background music. Prices were very reasonable and the menu was very helpful as this was my first ever Indian.
The food was tasty and plenty of it, everyone in my party loved there choice of dish. I just hope I can come back again soon!
