The food looked fantastic and tasted delicious. Nearly everything on the menu was able to be gluten free too.
Whilst it is slightly more expensive than your average restaurant, I would definitely say it is worth the money. Highly recommended!

What an amazing restaurant! We had the most fabulous meal at Porto. Each and every preparation was done to perfection, be it the Scallops, Lamb chump, Steak or the sea food pasta. And their service was great as well, with a lot of care and attention. A must visit place if your are traveling to Lake District or Windermere

Lovely food, better than the menu suggested in my opinion. The main dishes were great, as were the starters. The only minor was the service was a little slow even though there were lots of staff. I asked for water twice and it did not come. I would definitely recommend this place.
High quality restaurant with excellent staff who are friendly and polite. Food is superb, beautifully presented dishes which deliver on flavour also. Most notably the terrine to start and pheasant for mains (attached picture). Price is very reasonable considering the high standards.
We went on our honeymoon after making a last minute booking. The staff were excellent and so was the food. What more can I say? Highly recommend and we would love to visit again in the future.
It was our last night and we ventured out for dinner. We didn't book anywhere and that was a bit of a mistake. If you are staying in Windermere and eating local book somewhere as it gets busy. We chanced it at the Porto and luckily got a table. We went up on the terrace which was nice to be outside because the weather has been beautiful. My wife had the beef medallions and I had the lamb shank. Both meals were beautifully presented and and faultless. Lovely little restaurant and our food was lovely and reasonable priced
We had a wonderful meal at Porto. The highlight was medallion of beef (a daily special) but everything was excellent. Photos show oyster mushroom & scallop starters, bream and beef mains, and chocolate delice dessert. Huge choice of wines. The best meal I’ve had in a long time

The food was 5 out of 5. Different and contemporary food, the meat was tender and juicy, food presentation was worth what I paid for. The choice of sauce was unique yet tasty.
Service 5 out of 5. Very attentive and professional servers I was early for my appointment but they accommodate us without much fuss.
Atmosphere was nice and airy, they didn't try to squeeze you in so there is plenty of spaces around you which is nice.
Online booking is a huge bonus.
Location very central, very nice staff. And every dish we ordered came out delicious. The chips are the best I have ever had. Highly recommended.
One of Bowness Wharf's leading restaurants, offering some of the best ingredients and flavours in the UK, is here, PORTO . The recommendation is to line up before the restaurant opens at 5am. The Early Bird Menu is a budget menu from 5am to 6am! This is a huge portion for only £22!
The beautiful female staff were friendly and great. Good choice of wines by the glass.
Well presented all plates, very beautiful We had a lovely dinner. We lived in France for 12 years. This restaurant is the same class as we have in France. Love the chicken Caesar salad. I ordered sea bass, my friends had steak, lamb, and risotto. All were delicious. The only drawback was kids menu’s meat ball; too salty.

Our Porto experience was lovely. I booked a table for my partners birthday and had my fingers crossed that everything would go smoothly, and even left a note on the reservation that it was his birthday so it would be appreciated if we got something a little extra special that evening. I ask for this every year, but restaurants seldom remember so I wasn’t expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised!
We were sat at a lovely booth table, with cute sparkles and a ‘happy birthday from Porto’ cutout on the table. The food….absolutely fabulous! The flavours worked so well together, and you could really taste the effort that went into each dish. The desserts were fantastic as well, and the whole evening was quite reasonably priced for the superb quality of food.
I was already pleased with the attention to detail, when we got another birthday treat in the form of small frozen ganache sweets (whatever it was, it was delicious), and a happy birthday napkin.
Overall, the experience was fabulous; the food, atmosphere, drinks, desserts, staff and the attention to my birthday request, all amazing. Thank you to the Porto team for making our visit to Windemere so special, and for making my partners birthday that much more memorable! I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family, and will be back myself one day!
