An old building, but nicely set out and cosy inside. 2 adults and 2 children, stayed overnight in a motorhome, before visiting Beamish, which is only 15 minute drive away. Meals took a while to be delivered to our table, but were good. Staff were friendly. Wouldn't think twice about visiting again

Really friendly atmosphere, called in for a couple of drinks and ask the owner if we could stop over night in the camper, they were really welcoming and friendly

A down to earth pub, with good food and good service. Nothing fancy but just what we were looking for. Big garden if you have kids.

The food here is really good. It is a good few notches above pub grub, superb quality, bursting with flavour, but reasonably priced. Service was friendly, very genuinely so, and efficient and attentive even though the bar and tables were being worked solo due to the pub being unexpectedly two staff short. We were just passing through on a trip but I’d definitely detour to eat here again. It really is that good. The bar has a warm and friendly vibe with nice lighting and decor that gives it a cosy but lively feel. Top notch.
