Really delicious South Indian style food! As a vegan it was brilliant having so many options to choose from, as almost everything on the menu is vegan. I much prefer this kind of food which just happens to be vegan, to vegan burgers and other imitation products.
The masala dosa was particularly excellent, as was the spicy Goan vegetable curry. My partner, who is a meat eater, said it was one of the best meals he’s ever eaten and we’re planning to return the next time we’re in the area.
Prices are surprisingly reasonable, especially for a seaside town, and the service was excellent. The fact that the place was absolutely jam packed by the time we finished is clearly testament to its popularity with locals.
Lovely staff, very accommodative and fantastic chef. Chef literally came out multiple times to ensure that the food he cooked for us is hot enough, tastes good and if we liked the flavours.
A wonderful meal with great staff who took the time to explain all the dishes. Good relaxing atmosphere. We had the share option which was a great way to try different dishes, do much food. Excellent value. Thanks for a lovely evening x
Had aloo chat and samosa chat taste and quality both were good. It is a busy place on the weekends hence better to book a table. It has a nice Bollywood theme atmosphere
The food, drinks, atmosphere was absolutely amazing. No faults at all. The staff where very friendly and attentive. It's a perfect place to grab a drink and a bite to eat with friends or to have cute date night. Definitely a hidden gem in Boscombe
Tried this place on our weekend away to Bournemouth. Table booked for 6pm on a Friday. Staff and food was great. Their own brand canned beer was excellent, but way way overpriced for a can of beer. We would have stayed longer and ordered more food and drinks, but the restaurant was just too cold. They also had a weird selection of music for the first hour and then played indian music, which I do prefer when visiting these types of restaurants.
Really lovely experience. I have allergies and the chef came out and explained what I could/couldn’t have/made up a main I could. Very very tasty. Lovely to see real passion going into the food and really good service. Would highly recommend meat-eaters to go and see if they miss the meat. For veggies/vegans it’s a no brainer
Me and my partner have talked about trying this place for a while.
The food was absolutely amazing, the service was really great - laid back and not overbearing.
We tried food we wouldn't have tried before, it all tasted so good. And the price is not over the top.
Will definitely be returning.
Big thanks to the kitchen and front of house team.
You have definitely got it right here!
Authentic Indian vegetarian food at its best - would recommend everything from starters to desserts , gun powder chips is my personal recommendation. Service is quick and staff is polite and efficient.
First time trying out this restaurant and loved all the food and the staff were great! Most pleasant and unexpected surprise at the end of the meal when the lovely waitress (wish I'd got her name) brought over our bill and told us that it's world kindness day and they are therefor paying for all of our food and we only need to buy the drinks!!!!!! So unnecessary and genuinely kind. Says a lot about them as a business. Thank you so much! 10/10 recommend x
Came here for an anniversary meal with my other half, and I was so impressed. The decor was really lovely and has a great vibe, the staff were lovely and friendly, and to top it off the food was absolutely fantastic. It's fab to see a fully veggie restaurant, and I will absolutely be back!
Popped into Baboo for the first time must admit not being a vegetarian didn't know what to expect or looking to forward to it much but wow the food and spices and different tastes were excellent certainty didn't miss the meat taste a new experience and already can't wait to go back.
Staff service was also 10/10 , atmosphere & cleanliness spot on.
Came for dinner last week and was blown away! I never write reviews however due to the fact I eat meat and this is a vegetarian restaurant I felt compelled too.
I substituted my normal meat for the new judgment free chicken in my curry, which was vegan which really wasn't far off the real thing! The crispy cauliflower wings were the highlight however.
Friendly and fun service and the complementary drink for my wife's birthday was very touching and kind.
We will be back!
Despite me being the only person in at the time I really enjoyed the vibe of the place, nice decor and tremendous food. A really good vegetarian option and for me trying to eat more veg this was great. It really is excellent
We had a delicious meal here, so many tempting dishes to choose from. Great decor and atmosphere and good value too. Highly recommended.
For those that are familiar with Bobby's in Leicester, Baboo Ji is in that same category. The food was outstanding. An interesting array of vegetarian and vegan dishes, all perfectly spiced and seasoned so you could taste the flavours without having your taste buds fried. Excellent value for money. I dined with a work colleague and we shared the platter for 2. £28 got us 2 curries, 3 sides, rice and 2 naans and they weren't small portions. Can't wait for an opportunity to go back.
We went for an early evening meal. The service was great and the food we ordered arrived promptly. As this is a vegetarian restaurant we were unfamiliar with most of the dishes on offer and it would have helped if we knew what we were getting. But maybe that's because we did not ask enough questions. None the less we did enjoy the food which had some interesting flavours. We probably would go again if we are in that part of town again even though vegetarian is not always our favourite type of food.
