What a beautiful hotel in a stunning location. The staff are outstanding. Everyone is so friendly and eager to please that it really does enhance your stay. Our room was on the small side but had everything you need and the view, the view was stunning. Breakfast was wonderful with lots of choices and they even provided gluten free toast. We will definitely be going back, we loved it.
Wonderful lounge area with fresh food made to order. Service can be a little slow but everything else makes it all worth the wait. Excellent fish n chips, their salmon and smoked haddock fish cakes topped with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce keeps us coming back. Nice variety on the menu. Two other restaurants, the main hotel and beside the hotel “Neo” are great choices for a more formal dinner or lunch, but my wife and I love the open walk-in lounge and al le carte menu. Not to be overlooked is their afternoon tea, their scones like most everything else are made from scratch and exceptionally good.
Stayed here several times in a Superior room never fails too disappoint, staff very professional and friendly, food is top quality,we can't see why you would stay anywhere else in Bournemouth.

Just got home from a weekend at The Hermitage. We were there for a "Do". The staff could not have done enough for you, and very friendly. Our room was quite a large room which was nice. Food was great as was the wine list. 😊😊
I booked a weeks holiday at very short notice for my elderly Mother, and Brother. When I rang to enquire, the reception staff could not of been more helpful. Both my Mother, and Brother have limited mobility, and the staff all made sure they were looked after, and had everything they needed. When I picked them up at the end of their stay they both told me that this was the best hotel that had ever stayed in. Thank you so much 😊
We had a wonderful stay
Ideally placed by the beach with no hills to climb
The rooms where compact but plenty of room.
The staff were so friendly and helpful and the public areas very comfortable. We had breakfast and bar meals, very good value and very nice . A good choice for breakfast .
We loved the ducks in the room .
We will certainly be back
We anticipated that our weekend at the Hermitage would be good, in effect it was brilliant. It's position, quality room and food along with the most professional yet welcoming and caring staff made everything so special. We were delighted by the way we were treated and made to feel special. We would recommend the Hermitage to anyone looking for a first rate hotel in Bournemouth.
Stayed at the Hermitage for 3 nights in the middle of June, the hotel is as good or even better than before. Breakfast was lovely, had a single Seaview room which was great. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Am back here again in 3 weeks time.
Fantastic location in a nice building. Only downside to great English weather is no air con, but they found us a fan at 2am as ours didn't work & I was finding the heat tricky for sleeping. Likewise, they brought us an ice bucket each day so we could chill our bottles of water. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I would definitely return.
I’ve never stayed in this hotel but have dropped in for an afternoon tea with my customer on a few occasions. Excellent service, presentation and value.
Excellent Hotel. Our room was tastefully decorated, bathroom was big light and airy. We had a very large bed, which was so comfortable. All staff went that extra mile to help. Breakfast was fantastic. The food and drink in the hotel wasn't dear at all, just normal everyday prices and a lot cheaper and nicer than at the sea front. I will however return and recommend this hotel to all my friends and family.
We haven't stayed at the hotel but have enjoyed many meals there and have always found the food delicious and the staff very attentive.
Very friendly & helpful staff. Unfortunately, due to a large group booking at the hotel, I don't feel the staff were able to cope and the breakfast provided wasn't what I would have hoped for, they were slow at replenishing the cooked food and we had to ask for items and the fresh fruit wasn't replenished. Perfect spot by the beach, park and shops. Was a little shocked at the car parking charges of £14 a night.
Fantastic location, right on seafront, close to pier and town centre a short walk away through a lovely park. Room was lovely and clean but a bit dated. Having car parking was a big plus, but wasn't informed we had to pay extra for it until we checked in. Same was true for the dog, website said pet friendly but again were not informed we had to pay extra until check in. Apart from these stealth charges everything else was fine. Staff nice and very polite, breakfast excellent. Would definitely stay again.
Breakfast fantastic, enough to set you up till lunchtime...rooms clean n tidy but a bit small. Toilet in our room was awkward to use, due to being so close to the bath. Drinks in the bar were very expensive, £24.50 for double bacardi n coke, bottle of cider n 1 baby guiness. Just a very short stroll to the beach n Gardens, so ideal for people who can not walk far. We have stayed here a few times due to being close to things in Bournemouth and yes we will return, but the bar needs to sort prices out, and we will not have that room again if we can help it.
Top location at Bournemouth Beach. I got an upgrade from single to double room with sea view. Thank you for that!
The hotel is, I would say, a typical UK beach hotel. Already older, but nice. Room, furniture, and bathroom in a good acceptable condition. Good cleanness. What I always claim is that there is a carpet in the room. I personally do not like it, considering the hygienic.
The service, when we arrived, was great. Easy checkin. Receipt for company fast prepared.
Parking fee is very high. Nearly 15£.
About the breakfast I can't say anything. We left early and asked for a breakfast bag, which was very poor. No fruits and I had to remind the concierge, to add something to drink.
Nevertheless, for a stay in Bournemouth, I would chose the Hermitage again.
Room spacious, lovely sea view. However, carpet threadbare in three places, not what you'd expect in a four star hotel. Staff were excellent. Breakfast OK. Coffee from self service machine, felt like a holiday Inn express. Love the location and the mini golf in the park. Will come again.
Went to The Hermitage Hotel today for the brunch laid on for the Bournemouth Airshow. I can't fault it in anyway, the staff were so attentive, friendly and courteous. The brunch included hot & cold food and everything looked fabulous. I struggled to decide what to have!! Included in the price was a ticket to go on the Observation Wheel. Such amazing value for money. If anyone is thinking about going to the Airshow next year, then please book the brunch you certainly won't be disappointed. Thank you, Hermitage Hotel for your fabulous hospitality
Great location, breakfast very good. Compact rooms have all the facilities you need but are small. If you're just in it to sleep, perfectly adequate.
Friendly staff, nice restaurant.
The room is clean, not so big but big enough for me. The location is great for tourist spot, but a little bit for from train station (I needed to take a cab as I had two bags with me.) I enjoyed walking on the nearby beach and parks though.
Lovely little room tidy and comfortable, staff was very pleasant professional and helpful.
Food is at a decent standard compared to other places I've been in so they get a 5/5 for that as well would definitely recommend to anyone looking to be 1 min from the sea and 10 -15 min from loud party's
Nice hotel clean tidy and great staff. Rooms are nice but one we had could do with updating. Food is very nice. One complaint, when we booked the meal the menu was bigger than the one we were presented with. We believe this was down to the fact that they had a wedding reception in the main restaurant. So if booking a meal, check if there is a function on in the restaurant. However, this would not put us off staying again.
Another great stay at the Hermitage hotel... all of the staff were very welcoming and polite, a special mention to Miguel and his team for all of their much appreciated hard work and genuine care shown towards us in the restaurant and bar area thankyou all so much again, see you all in the near future
Staff were all friendly and accommodating, and were all very helpful. My room had an excellent view of the seafront.
Breakfast has a very good selection of hot and cold drinks/food.
Some parts of the hotel have been renovated, and the rooms are all clean but some are looking a little dated. However I had a very pleasant stay so can’t complain! Thank you
