Had a quick latte and coffee and walnut cake yesterday and i must say the latte was one of the best I've had. Great setting and friendly staff. As a manager of a cafe/restaurant myself couldn't fault amything (apart from broken bench)
Great food, we had the sharing platter, Service was good, prices reasonable and lovely views over the beach, on a sunny day. What more can you ask for

I went with my family for lunch, and 3 of us had the fish & chips. It was excellent and the best fish I have had in a long time. Will definitely go back again.

This place was such an unexpected surprise. Plenty of seating outside and inside with fabulous views. The portions are absolutely massive. I’d certainly recommend to split one main between two people, reasonable prices. The staff is very kind. The food is fresh and great quality and tasty. I’d recommend this restaurant for certain.
Stunned to see such shockingly critical reviews of this place. Beautiful location, seated straight away, welcomed our dog too. Was blown away by the food. Totally not what we expected at all. Ordered the prawn cocktail, expecting some small portion in a tiny plastic cup, received the complete opposite! Laid beautifully on a plate, warm thin toast, delicious prawns and smoked salmon. My lamb burger was phenomenal. My partner wasn’t a fan of the crab, but we both agree crab is an acquired taste and we haven’t had enough of it to make a judgement of it yet. The chocolate torte was so tasty it was amazing. And the fresh lemonade was soooo flavourful. Shame we’re on holiday here only for a few days. Otherwise would’ve totally returned
Brunch was lovely, the staff and manager were helpful and friendly. Unfortunately there was a mix up with the order and we were given a normal full English when we thought we asked for vegetarian. The manager was absolutely fine about it and reordered the vegetarian one for us. The food was good, the location lovely. We would def go back. And dog friendly too! Inside and out.
Stopped her after doing a quick search for somewhere to eat on Google maps. Lovely restaurant. Staff were lovely and service was very efficient. Great views of Southbourne beach. There is paring which is pay and display. Will definitely return again
Bistro on the Beach is always on the our list of favourites. Good food, great location with sea view. Great reward after a walk from Hengisbury Head. Today Kristina recommended their special. And OMG! What a wow effect! Thank you!
Loved this place! What a great location. If you're accessing the restaurant from the car park above, don't be put off by how the building looks from behind - it's not great - as once beachside, it's lovely. The views are spectacular, the setting perfect and the food truly delicious! Well worth a visit.
Good food at an obviously good location. Southbourne beach is by far the best beach in Bournemouth(he says as the local😆😉). Food and drink is always good, with generous portions and not over priced, even though you are sat right on the beach.
handy place for refreshments when your walking the prom or playing on the sands with your kids. Full facilities. Takeaway or sit in options.
My wife and I really felt like fish and chips on the beach and the Bistro on the Beach exceeded our expectations in every way.
Excellent service, big, perfectly cooked and crispy fish, chunky and crispy fries, cracked salt, tartare and mushy peas. Excellent coffee and a stunning location.
Pretty decent cafe, the fish was really good and portion size is generous. The chicken strips I believe they are frozen but it still tasted decent. The location is great right by the seafront, staff are super friendly. Prices are what you expect to pay at the seafront.
They have outside tables as well as inside seatings. If you sit outside and wanting food, you got to go in and order food and drinks. If you sit and dine inside then it is table service.
Friendly with great food 👍 apologies for pics taken with food started but really good deserves a mention. Beer battered fish n chips spot on along with Mediterranean salsa salmon just perfect.

Lovely warm break from a delightful winter walk on the beach from Southbourne. Mocca is very often average - bit not here! Blown away with how good this was! Delicious & fairly priced veggie panini & very softly spoken & friendly, approachable staff, who were attentive but not intrusive.
Fantastic bistro with a lovely menu, offering food made with good local ingredients. There's something for most tastes and coupled with the great beachside view makes this easily the best place to eat anywhere along the prom.
Amazing location, eat whilst feeling the sea breeze & sabd between your toes...Really good food, the calamari & prawns were cooked well..with a beer in the sun. yum.
