What a great place to eat. Wonderful menu, especially for those of us who need to eat gluten free. The presentation of the food here is of the highest standard. It was so evident that thought and care had gone into catering for all tastes and dietary needs. The staff are friendly, happy to chat and are rightly proud of this gem of a restaurant. Definitely up for a return visit soon.

First visit today, lovely food, friendly attentive staff. Really enjoyed our birthday celebration. First time that I have eaten out in the last 10 years where the gluten free menu was every bit as good as the normal people were offered. Fantastic choice. We'll be back.

Really impressed. The menu was varied and catered well for vegetarians (not just the same couple of options there are everywhere else) they also had separate vegan and gluten free menus. We really liked the atmosphere and the feel of the place. It was a busy Friday but we weren't rushed at all (we thought they might want our table) and were able have a lovely, leisurely dinner. Impressed with the dessert options too - we both had meringue: one was coffee and one was ginger. Definitely be coming back as it's in a good location too.

Very friendly staff, and the food was fantastic too! The Lamb steak was lovely and tender, and the minted gravy was delicious. Also they didn't skimp on the portion size for the 'small' haloumi salad, and it was also great! Would definitely recommend 😊

Great experience. Felt very welcome in very nice surroundings. Food was amazing. Be warned though. You need a big appetite to get through the roasts. Nice big portions. If we are in bournemouth again we will definitely visit. Highly recommended for good food and casual friendly atmosphere

My wife and son are allergic to dairy but myself and my other son are not. We normally have to go to vegan restaurants or a normal restaurant but they only have a very small menu to choose from, but not at The Bear Cross pub! The dairy-free menu was massive and had proper dishes and not just poor substitutes. Some of the decor is a little tired, but that certainly didn't have any impact on the food. My wife had chicken with a (dairy free) creamy sauce and I had a steak pie. My boys both had more standard for kids options and chips. My son was delighted to have the dairy-free ice cream option instead of the usual sorbet. The portions were huge for all.

Large place offering lovely food in a relaxed atmosphere. Cask ale should that be your tipple. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food excellent from a great menu. Leave room for dessert

The food was 1st class. We had a really fussy eater with us and they couldn't do anymore to accommodate her. All staff were wearing masks and tables were spaced well so felt very safe. Five star for the food and service and atmosphere. Best meal we have had at a restaurant for a long time and a reasonable price.

Amazing menu and lots of choice. Food was very tasty and there was an option of a smaller portion. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.

We came for a hen do and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Gave us our own tab numbers so there wasn't any messing around when paying. When our activity got moved, they very kindly gave us an alternative option. Couldn't have been kinder and gave us excellentservice. Food was very good.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon in the peeing rain, and it was very busy. Still managed to get a table though, thanks to the very nice and attentive staff who showed us to a table, then very politely asked us to move to another which was no issue at all. The food is excellent, the service is also brilliant. Get yourselves down there for a decent meal and a proper pint or two!
