Top notch location. Being Japanese and finding halfway sushi is honestly hard in New Hampshire but Boston does offer excellent choices overall. The staff here are very attentive; not just one waitress but multiple employees that's constantly checking and making sure small trash items and empty plates are quickly whisked away. Sashimi cuts and sushi rolls are great quality. Very fresh sashimi at the right temperature. The steam bun others talked about are a must have. It's very delicious! It's a fancy setting but still has a nice welcoming atmosphere without feeling like you need to dress up. We will definitely be back here again next time.

Was on the lookout for a new sushi spot in Boston - and really enjoyed Douzo. Sake and sushi very solid - not best in class but very solid. Service was super attentive and helpful. Wish they had slowed things down a little bit- but was fine if you manage the pace on your own. Space was a little 1980s / high ceilings and austere with dark wood - in need of a refresh. In short - a go to sushi spot at 50% the cost of a meal at Blue Ribbon. Worth the visit.

We decided, on a whim, to book a table for 4 people at 6 PM. Showed up 20 minutes early, no problem. Impeccable service from the moment we walked in and we decided to order various dishes to try, which I would recommend. The Toto sushi wasn’t on the menu but the server recommended it so I said yes. It was amazing. I would ask them for anything seasonal and focus on what you love about seafood

You could walk by this place and never guess it was there. It’s huge on the inside & pretty nice! One of my favorite sushi spots. My absolute favorite appetizer is the Miso Cod. I get it every time & love it. My favorite special roll is the Tasty. I’ve tried several and this will give you a taste of everything. Personally, I don’t think are worth the price… so I then order a couple orders of regular maki rolls which are all amazing.

Loved the sushi, loved the vibes and loved the service! Couldn't be happier with everything we ordered. Service was very quick and they were so kind and friendly. The food was amazing, baos are bomb and the pork gyoza were so good we had to order a second round. Overall would recommend to anyone!

This was the best sushi I’ve had yet in Boston. The location is modern and casual, the staff are fantastic, and the beautiful presentation of the food is only surpassed by the delicious taste!

Excellent food with flavorful mushroom skewers as appetizers, nicely portioned bento boxes with fresh maki rolls, and yummy unagi donburi. Service was very friendly, and the restaurant is nicely appointed with high ceilings and a contemporary decor, although the shallow shelves on the walls and the walls themselves could use a deep cleaning, especially given the pricier menu selections. Otherwise, it's a very pleasant dining experience!

A Fresh mouthwatering experience you can't go wrong with this place! I tried a little bit of everything and it was so delicious. quality sushi. I got a chef's choice sashimi plate and a few rolls the chef went above and beyond to make sure everything worked cohesively and even threw in some touches comparing to some of the starters I chose. I just can't say enough about this place the atmosphere was great nice and calming. Try it you won't regret it! Here is a list of what I got Starters Fried tofu Tuna tataki Garlic edema Dounzo chef's choice Sashimi plate Rolls Torch Rainbow Mt Fuji

Situated in the busy district of Back Bay next to the Amtrak station, Douzo sushi serves clients of many demographics. Friendly staff, responsible management, and cozy ambiance, it’s a great setting for business meal or family gatherings. GM Eugene and Mgr. Ton were very professional and took patron’s feedback seriously, evidence of a well-run restaurant. The dish presentation was very nicely done, especially the Douzo tasting boat, and the uni bowl was very very fresh, worth the price. Unagi rice was sweet and tender, great choice for lunch. Lunch bento box was very reasonably priced with enough quantity to serve one person. We went for a birthday celebration and were surprised to receive a complimentary chocolate fondue desert for the birthday. Overall, Douzo is definitely a candidate for repeated visits.

Invited my colleagues here after work and ordered the XO Toro and Crispy Rice for the table. The XO Toro wasn’t just on fire, it was fire. It was so good that I was perfectly fine that none of my colleagues showed up and I got to eat it all alone. I spent the rest of my per diem on enough sushi for two people, which really helped fill the void. Picture’s of where a colleague would have sat. Highly recommend.

A little bit pricy, but otherwise delicious sushi and high quality ingredients. Really loved the gyoza and the green tea mochi balls in addition to all the rolls we had. We also loved the cocktails we had - the Ume Supreme and the Starry Night. This was a really great food experience but I do think you can get just as good of sushi for a slightly lower price point.

Delicious sushi and Japanese in convenient location to Back Bay Station and Copley Square. Very fresh food. Decor dated but clean. Service quick and friendly. Slight issue with an allergy, but they corrected it.

Slightly upscale sushi spot with great Japanese tapas and decent sushi. My friend and I recently took a visit hoping to find another good sushi spot in the Back Bay area. With modern interiors and the menu featuring a variety of Japanese small bites, this place initially reminded me of Uni on Mass Ave. We started off with some bites, and the creamy and umami finish of the uni shot and the buttery texture of the XO toro were particularly memorable. However, other dishes ended up being just okay for the price. The sushi was also a bit of a letdown. None of the sushi pieces stood out as impressive, and the overall quality of the sushi from the Chef’s selection wasn’t too different from that of typical neighborhood sushi places. Nevertheless, Douzo is still a decent option whether you’re looking for a casual or a romantic sushi spot. The regular sushi selections may not be the best option, but some of their small bites are good enough to make the meal special.

Stopped by Douzo on a Sunday evening to grab dinner with a friend. It was easy to get a reservation, the service and atmosphere was great, and the pricing was super affordable. Also had a lot of vegetarian options. Had a lovely time!

Pork katsu is a bit dry on the inside though the fried skin is well attached to it. Coppa pistachio is a great dessert. If you have some space in your stomach, definitely order it. However, my waiter is a bit non-responsive. Never really speak with me. He did everything in silence and made zero ey contacts.
