We stayed at the caravan park which is excellent, facilities immaculate. Lovely little wood to walk around which is also a natural burial ground very interesting. We had the Sunday roast and all 4 of us said it's one of the best we've had. Also the steak on steak night cracking value for money. We had no problems with service and the staff were very good. Would highly recommend both site and restaurant. Hats off to the owner.

Great meal, Sunday lunch. Excellent service, there were 17 of us, but all were served efficiently.
The food was gorgeous, massive Yorkshire pudding with the roast, lovely vegetables. Only regret is I didn't take any pictures.

First time going to the Thatched Cottage and I have to say both of us were impressed. Sausage meat burger with pulled pork was very tasty. Scampi was nice, the salted chicken bits were very morish.. Great staff, plenty of parking, very nice outdoor area.. Yes we'll be back. Thank you...

Food was delicious and the staff are there to greet you with a smile. Excellent choices on the menu, something for everyone. I had the fillet steak cooked to perfection. After our meal we went for a lovely walk around the woodlands. I would highly recommend!

Extremely delicious food. Had to wait for over half an hour for it, but well worth the wait.
Stayed at the caravan park too which was fabulous. Lovely little wood to walk around. Immaculate site. Wonderful.

Stayed several nights on the Caravan site. Lovely pitch right beside the pond (pitch 5). Clean and handy toilet block and a very tidy site. Nice dog walks through the woods and the fishing pond was good too. Lots of smaller silver fish and orfe, for the bigger ones up the bait size, fish the bottom and be patient, they're there, and if you do hook one brace yourself some are huge, so tackle accordingly, keep them out of the reeds, and use a matt. 10/10

Took my wife and kids out for our anniversary meal a couple of weeks ago.
It’s my first time going and we both thoroughly enjoyed it.
The lady serving us was polite, very attentive and kept our kids entertained every time she came over to serve us.
I had the mackerel pate for starter, with the lamb rump for main. Normally I don’t really even like lamb but saw another customer order it and it looked so good I asked her what she had ordered and got the same myself.
It was absolutely perfectly cooked, a giant chunk of meat, lovely medium rare, juicy, well seasoned and came with a potato terrine that I need to find the recipe for, it was that good.
My wife had the spiced pork belly for starter after some encouragement from me (I wanted to try a bit) and for main the chicken supreme with chorizo, new potatoes and a lovely cream sauce, all served in a pastry shell.
She said it was the best meals out we’ve ever had.
Both of my kids had sausage and mash, and we all had brownie for desert.
I’m not a sweet person but thought the rest of the food was this good, I’ll try something from the sweet menu too (and I was right)
Meal came to around £80 total, slightly expensive but I’ve got no problem paying this much for food of such quality.
Already trying to find an occasion to go again.

We came for Sunday dinner today. We were a large table of 11 and cannot fault the service as it was excellent. Friendly staff who were very welcoming and chatty. Food was delicious. Beautiful inside and out! Cannot fault anything.
We will definitely be back and highly recommend.
Thank you and well done

Just had an enjoyable Bar Meal. First visit since re-opening. A lovely refurbishment! Remember to duck or grouse for the low beams if you are tall!

Just had a very good lunch from the Bar Meal Menu. Lovely friendly staff and very nice food. My partner really enjoyed the Doom Bar, and the Sauvignon Blanc went down well too! If I had a criticism it would be that it felt very chilly when we arrived but did warm up while we were there. So pleased to have a pub, and one that's had such a lovely make over, back in the village again. Thanks to the Chambers family and team.

A birthday treat out today, food absolutely spot on.. soup I don’t eat but tried the broccoli & Stilton it was stunning, as was every course. Lovely to be able to revisit The Thatched after so long with its new look. Well done to The Chambers for bringing it back to life ... bit chilly tho ( which was noted )by the attentive staff

Would have been nice to give a proper review. The opening times need amending to say that although open until 3 pm, there is no chance of getting anything to eat after 2 pm because the kitchen is closed! Came home from holiday, unpacked car, walked dog intending to call for something to eat. It was just before 2pm and we were told "kitchen closes at 2". No offer of any sandwiches, baguette, panini or toasties or salad, even if nothing could be cooked. Why aren't these on the lunchtime menu? Not everyone wants a cooked meal between 12 and 2!
Not to mention the long wait before someone came to the bar to get our drinks - we almost wilted waiting!
No parasols in the outside eating area, so no cover from the scorching heat for either diners or dogs.
On the plus side the dog did get a bowl, of fresh cold water brought out to him by a waitress.
Disappointed . Went to Burger King! KFC will be opening soon too .............

I'll go again. All reports from people today was that the food was excellent. Lovely venue. Beer is good. Staff are friendly and local villagers seem to be the best in the county.
