I always recommend The Moorings to anybody visiting the area. Fantastic food, service is second to none and the atmosphere is wonderful. By far the best restaurant in the area, if not the best in the county. A special place.

What an outstanding and superb place this is. It is an exceptional eating experience. Nothing is too much trouble and in fact they go that extra mile to ensure everything is perfect. I suffer severe food allergies but I informed them beforehand and I can only say that my meal was the best I've ever had and the staff made sure I was not anxious by informing me of all the steps they had taken to ensure that my meal was allergen free. The atmosphere and location is wonderful. It is one remarkable dining establishment. Thank you to everyone who made the evening so special for me and all my group.

In a word; Divine! Visited for our 1 year wedding anniversary on Friday and was greeted and seated by warm and friendly staff. After ordering drinks and main meals, we realised there would be a wait for food as it is clearly all made to order, so we asked for some bread to keep us going until the meals arrived. Nothing seemed too much trouble and after a couple of minutes, lovely warm crusty baguettes arrived and took the edge off until the main event; My husband's seafood platter special and my slow-cooked pork. The pork fell apart beautifully and went very well with the peppercorn sauce (which I asked to swap from the mustard sauce on the menu) and the pineapple tart was the star accompaniment! I would like to review the seafood, but I don't eat it! However, my husband will tell you it was delicious (made evident by the fact he ate it all!) We then finished our meal with the creme brulee and a mango sorbet and here is where you will find the only negative comment; The house-made biscuits that are served with the creme brulee were soft. We mentioned this to one of the staff and she explained they are put in a jar when they are still slightly warm, hence the reason they go soft, but this was such a small aspect of an amazing dining experience that I cannot give any less than 5 stars! Next time we come to Wales, we plan on lunching here so we can enjoy the views and some more exquisite food

Just my favourite restaurant (and I live three and a half hours away !!) ... the PERFECT ambience and service, truly devine food, gorgeous wines and cocktails, and of course a view to die for ... Mel and Bethan looked after us so supremely well, we've actually booked a cheeky long weekend in August (for my 50th) simply so that we can have dinner here !!

Second visit, second fabulous meal and looked after by warm friendly staff. I had the Beef Steak and like it Blue - yes I am a vampire and it cut like a knife through butter. Both myself and my wife enjoyed every aspect of our visit and will most definitely return - highly recommended to all.

Pre booked Sunday lunch on a day which turned out to be gloriously warm and sunny! An instantly friendly welcome from every single member of staff made us feel right at home. Waitress recommended the rhubarb and ginger gin which us two ladies accepted readily - gorgeous! Food was without exception absolutely delicious and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They were also all mega calm despite being non stop busy for the two hours we were there. We watched drinks being made at the bar and my friend commented that the staff did every single thing with real care and attention, even making hot drinks. Cannot fault this place - it is a brilliant find! Our friends live near Welshpool and said they might even drive the hour and a half out here just to come to The Moorings for Sunday lunch again!!

Outstanding restaurant. We came for dinner here midweek to celebrate my partners birthday. I recommend booking at least a week in advance as it is a relatively small place and very popular. The views were idyllic, the terrace overlooks the harbour and the village. Excellent selection of drinks. The food was delicious and contained alot of yummy local ingredients. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We sat outside as we had our dog with us (they are dog friendly). There is a box of blankets to keep your legs warm too! I recommend highly, and we will be coming back soon!

Absolutely amazing service and gorgeous food. Ordered the lamb roast and to be honest, it beats that typical "mum's roast is always better" saying. Was tempted to order another it was that good. Look forward to coming back. Also made an exception to let our puppy come in which is not the usually normality and the staff are so polite!

Great place - fantastic service - the owners and staff are the best - food excellent - setting imperious - tide flooding this evening and as high as it gets in Borth y Gest on the top of the Springs - atmospheric moody skies with the backdrop of the hills and Moelwyns - beautiful stormy colours set the tone for a wonderful scenery - Lamb Tagine awesome - there are no words for the Sticky Toffee Pudding and custard ...

Stopped here on a hike as it was well located. The raised veranda gives you a lovely view over the bay, the food portions were well sized and the staff were really friendly & accomodating. The vegetarian pasta bolognese was really tasty. And best of all, it's dog friendly. I can whole heartedly recommend this cafe
