It's extremely rare that we find an Indian restaurant that we enjoy as much as our local one . We spent a night at the crown hotel and booked a table here.
The food was beautiful. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming .
It's take your own drinks also which we love.
Only thing I didn't like is the outside toilets but this wouldn't put me off going again
Fantastic restaurant, excellent food, service and overall experience. We go when staying at the Crown Inn and really look forward to it every time. This is our favourite Indian restaurant from dozens we've been to. Difficult to recommend any specific dishes as they're all great. Very good naan breads and rice choices also.

Today we had our anniversary dinner at Shahi Raj restaurant and we couldn’t pick a better place. The staff were very friendly and very professional-they surely know their menu inside out! I couldn’t make my mind up so they offered a variety of smaller dishes which was beyond we could wish for! We both left with “foodbabies” :)

Einer der besten Inder bei dem ich je gegessen habe. Ich kenne Indien und die Küche dort. Hier wird authentisch gekocht. Das Lokal ist zwar klein, aber sehr sauber. Weiße Damasttischdecken, Stoffservietten und ein aufmerksames Servicepersonal. Allerdings gibt es hier keinerlei Alkohol zu trinken. Nur ein Bier ohne. Trotzdem eine absolute Empfehlung

One of the best Indian restaurants I've ever eaten at. I know India and the cuisine there. Authentic cooking is done here. The restaurant is small, but very clean. White damask tablecloths, cloth napkins and an attentive service staff. However, there is no alcohol to drink here. Just a beer without. Still an absolute recommendation

Amazing service, family run you can see the real dedication making sure everyone is happy, fresh food and happy to change dishes if you fancy something else, bring your own alcohol which isn’t a problem, great authentic dishes and milder ones for everyone else

Haven't ordered from here for a couple of weeks but passed it today and thought I never did review them...
I first came here years ago, well over a decade, then when I moved up here I was very excited to find this place hasn't changed one bit on high quality food.
I have always had a brilliant dining experience when eating in, staff are so friendly and attentive, food is sublime and packed full of flavour.
Takeout ... stays the same, food always been brilliant.
Love it, highly rate it and gunna order one next week or might bring the wife to touch the hot plate again (to check it's hot, yes it burnt her hand but was so funny ) ...

Absolutely first class, we where staying close by on a caravan park so decided to have a takeaway and it was spot on, next time we will probably eat inside the restaurant as it was a very pleasant atmosphere while we where waiting for our meal. Hope to see you soon.

We love dining here, not only is the food excellent but the staff are so friendly and attentive. My 16 month old loves it too! The staff are so accommodating for the little one, making him laugh and feel so welcome. Highly recommend

If you are in the area and enjoy Indian cuisine there is no other place to go.
I travel for work and go all over the country and Indian cuisine is one thing I can’t live without.
We actually had dinner from here 3 times over the course of the time we were working in the area and also went to some of the other Indians but as a final conclusion this place was the best.
The first time we Sat in the restaurant, they don’t serve alcohol but do allow you to bring in small bottles to enjoy with your meal if you choose.
The second time we came in to order to eat out.
And the final time we ordered a takeaway.
So we tried all three options and personally if I could go back I would choose to sit down each and every time.
Don’t get me wrong the food was beautiful on all 3 occasions
But it was the staff and the elegance of the atmosphere in the restaurant that made the meal go far further in my opinion than most places I have been.
If I am in the area again in 2023 I hope there will be a table free after I finish work, because I can think of no where else I would rather go for Indian cuisine than here.
