Stopped for lunch. Portions massive but no trouble to modify meals to suit. Very nice.
March 2024. Pub had only been open two days under new ownership after being closed and empty for over a year. We were made very welcome by staff. The number of locals who arrived suggested that the reopening had been eagerly awaited and made for a lovely atmosphere. Food was excellent. Well presente
Having just newly opened and us new to the area, we wanted to visit our local for the first time. We went into the bar area and found a little table and ordered at the bar. The young chap behind the bar was friendly and quick at serving me and the drink selection is exactly what you expect from a pl
Dropped in for a bite to eat. Bar was busy so we went to the restaurant and a la carte. Food was lovely, big portions!. Great service. Stick toffee pud was authentic and lovely. I think the pub has just reopened after being closed for a while. Definitely a good place to stop.
We were so pleased to see this place open again. Great atmosphere (it was only the 2nd night!)... the place was buzzing. Saw some food coming out, which looked lovely. We'll definitely call again next time we're in the area.
Very short notice booking dealt with courteously and efficiently. Cosy pub for Sunday lunch. Lovely friendly staff. Delicious plentiful food...sweets particularly tasty ( Bakewell cheesecake and chocolate brownie) plus smart spotless toilets...highly recommend.
Excellent sunday lunch at the Ship Inn, amazing Yorkshire puddings with delicious gravy. Tasty desserts to top it off also. Friendly service, highly recommended.
Amazing Sunday dinner with Yorkshire pudding. Excellent portion size, delicious veg and tender meat. A good pint and a lovely open fire 🔥 dogs allowed and well catered for too.
Fantastic to see this brilliant village pub open again. Manager Cameron provided a warm welcome and is clearly passionate about the building, and understands what makes a proper local pub tick.
Great pub and a great place to eat. Lots of history and character. I’ve eaten hear a few times and the food has always been great. I really like the corn beef hash.
Traditional Sunday lunch was superb. You can't have enough gravy made it even better. Although we were a large group the.lovely staff and the kitchen bngade were professional and efficient throughout our visit. The only, very minor, negative which precluded 5 stars was a very limited choice of pro
Lovely old pub in a beautiful village. We had Sunday lunch, the roast beef was fabulous and a huge portion. The dogs enjoyed the leftovers! 2 huge yorkshire puddings and they brought plenty of gravy. We couldn't resist a couple of desserts to share which were beautiful and the kids loved their ice c
Decent traditional pub in a pretty village, the food was nice without being outstanding but perfect for a relaxed Sunday lunch.
Just stopped in for a drink. Lovely snug bar, friendly service and the food looked amazing. Everything was clean and dogs were allowed. A large back garden for families and a pleasant grown up seating area to the front. Add to that a good sized car park it is the perfect country pub.
Lovely traditional pub serving great meals and a very good choice of ales. Place can get busy so book if you want a table. Efficient, friendly service and dog friendly in the bar area where you can still eat. Had steak, kidney and mushroom pie, mash and veg. Scrummy!!
Its been a long time since we've been here. Now local so had to pop in for lunch. A quick pint and a sarnie. Very nice it was. Lovely staff and a good choice. We will be back. Thank you Lauryn. Steve & Debbie. ☺. 👍.
My wife & I along with my in-laws visited the Ship Inn on Saturday afternoon (25th of September 2021). We were greeted by very friendly bar staff. We were shown to our table, given menus & given time to decide what we wanted, ( I hate being pressured into making a rushed meal choice). The food was “
