proper good concert on saturday night, had a whale of a time, would definitely go again for another one, it's just such an ideal place for small gigs in bolton town, will always be a piece of history for me!
Kinda torn because its a grim little heavy metal pub with pretty basic beers....but we had a great night out in the open air stage at the back....Great for gigs, not for a quiet beer 😀
Love the Alma, although it's seen some changes since Mags and Trevor went RIP Trevor (top rock DJ) still go there to see bands and have a few swifties. Still a pleasant pub with friendly staff and it's good to see an alternative crowd in there. Never any trouble like in the centre of Bolton. Long may it stay open.
Great place for live music, great landlord and landlady. Cheap ale too!!!!
So, do you read a 5 * review and think it's outstanding? Or do you read a 1* review and think it's naff?? Hence 4* - it deserves 5 because of the staff, service, atmosphere and people. But why does it read a 5* review? Because if you go somewhere because it's "rated 5*" then you're just agreeing with your predecessors!
The Alma Inn is a old skool rock pub. Friendly atmosphere, brilliant bar staff and live music. If you like rock then give it a try.

Best pub in Bolton especially for rock n alternative music. Staff very very friendly n drinks r very reasonable. Has a smoking area outside which partial covered. The graffiti art work in smoking area is wow. They have live bands quite a lot n do do special nights every now n again. The jukebox is amazing for choice n they so have a pool table as well
Amazing now compared to what it used to be like. Better owners, great environment and cheap drinks as well as good music. Love this place as I have been coming for years. Would heavily recommend paying a visit.
Went to see DRI and MDC. Top night, even though it was pouring down with rain. Its amazing how many people can fit in such a small space :D
Always loved this pub. Great atmosphere, music and booze. What more could you want.
The was my local for the 4 years I lived in Bolton it's everything you would want from an old school rock pub it's dark and the bands are far to loud than is legal or indeed good for you .
Loved Evey second of it long may it be open to show the next generation of rockers how we did it at there age and some of us still do
