We stayed here 1 night for a local wedding. We turned up early to get the kids ready and the staff were extremely accommodating, showing us to a spare room to get changed and letting us check in early. The room was superb and worked really well for 2 adults, a 4 yr old and a 1 yr old. Breakfast was lovely and suitable for both kids too. Highly recommend this place.

My husband took me to your lovely place on Saturday for my birthday. We live over an hour away but the journey was definitely worthwhile. Booked a stay in July after seeing all the promotional material on Facebook. I became a bit skeptical due to some of the reviews but I needn't have been. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the lovely team. The room was beautiful and well presented. Nothing was too much for any of the staff and they were determined to provide the highest level of service. Even when the chocolate fondant exploded we were assured noone was hurt and it wouldn't take long for the replacement. Breakfast was good. Dinner was amazing. I wish them all the best as they take the business forward, for people who have come into the industry recently they've done a beautiful job and should be proud of what they have achieved. I would definitely recommend the Coach and Horses to family and friends.

We were amazed at this pub. Stroke of luck we got in for a Sunday dinner booking late but what a treat. Great food, extremely warm welcome and their own ale brewed on site was delicious. This isn’t a cheap option for food as it’s in the higher priced spectrum but in my view worth the money. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place for food in this beautiful part of the country. Worth a trip out!

We had a wonderful two night stay here midweek. Food was first class. The service was outstanding. All the staff were extremely helpful - we enjoyed the three mile walk explained in the leaflet, which could be found in the bar or in the rooms. Would recommend this country pub without reservation.

Simply amazing! 👏👏👏 Had a meal which was faultless and the best meal I've had in a long, long time. The service was brilliant and they even did a lovely little birthday desert to top it all off - particular mention to our waitress who shared a birthday...you made it such a lovely evening. The location is just stunning. So happy we found this place, as we will be back! Fully recommend 👌

This was such a lovely experience! We came for an early evening meal on a bank holiday weekend. The front of house lady (Ramana? Sorry if that’s not correct) was absolutely lovely and all staff were well trained and attentive. The food was exceptional, and having eaten from the A La Carte menu this time, we will be sure to try the 6 course taster on our next visit. Extremely enjoyable meal.

Went for a Sunday roast. Stunning location, a very charming village. The decor is a bit confused throughout, alternating from rustic and cosy to minimalist, cold wine-bar ascetic. Has its own in-house brewery, seemingly only serving here which is cool. Sunday roast fairly meh, barely roasted potatoes, a kilogram of over boiled cabbage and a mangle of fatty beer. The Yorkshire and carrots were good though.

This could have been the best Sunday lunch I've eaten out. Meat was cooked to perfection and plenty of it, amazing veg, toasties and Yorkshire pud. Staff we're super friendly and helpful.

This was our second visit, we went to a seafood tasting menu. The food was incredible, I would highly recommend it. Every course was a taste sensation. Service is excellent and its dog friendly. It was so good we have booked again for their next tasting evening.

The Coach and Horses is a fantastic country pub with rooms, with a team of staff that match up to the beautiful characterful building. James the manager ensured our stay was perfect, and he has a team that continually go above and beyond. The room we stayed in was called ‘Henry’, and it genuinely couldn’t have been better. With views across the village and a gorgeous roll top bath in the room, it really provided perfect environment to chill on our weekend getaway. At the end of the stay James gave us a tour and showed us some of the other rooms, which were all decorated to a high standard.. and all full of character. We stayed for the weekend taster which includes bed and breakfast and the evening taster menu for dinner. It offered incredible value for the quality on offer. The food was top level, and again the staff made the experience that bit extra special. The head chef came out after the meal to check we had enjoyed everything and had a great chat with us. It makes such a difference when the staff clearly care so much about what they are doing. As well as the fantastic rooms and top quality meals, I noticed they also offer sandwiches at lunchtime for walkers, so whether you are just passing or planning a special trip, it’s 100% worth a visit. We’ll be back.

The most perfect stay for our wedding anniversary. Everything about this place is just simply beautiful. We stayed in the Rose room and wow it was stunning with a beautiful bathtub and shower. The bed was super comfy and big. When we went down for dinner we were greeted by James the manager with a glass of prosecco for our anniversary. We had the 5 course taste menu plus the cheese board. Every single course we had was delicious and very special. Breakfast the next day did not disappoint either. The atmosphere was lovely, nice relaxed feel and staff really attentive and go above and beyond. We will back very soon.

Top notch pub with a top notch restaurant. Quiet for a Saturday lunchtime - but that suited us. The a la carte starters were delicious - especially the Lancashire cheese soufflé. Charred lamb’s liver and cod for mains followed by white chocolate cheesecake. Red wine served at the perfect temperature too. Clearly the kitchen know what they’re doing. We had the pleasure of meeting the Head Chef, Ian - talked about seasonal menus and other restaurant stuff. If you want a short trip (E.g. from Manchester) to the country for delicious Lancashire food - the Coach & Horses is a great shout.
