What a little gem. Me and my partner went after a recommendation yesterday for my birthday meal. The rump steak was the best I’d had in a long time as was the mixed grill we ordered. The staff had been informed it was my birthday and upon ordering the fudge cake out it comes with a candle an the staff singing happy birthday. Very friendly along with lovely surroundings. Will visit again if we are in the area 👍🏻
Fabulous meal for our parents Golden wedding anniversary . If you want a place where it’s obvious the staff enjoy their job and your custom is valued , this is the place ! Food was fabulous , service was second to none , definitely going back

Stunning good and great staff. These really pulled off a fantastic lunchtime meal under very busy conditions with the added pressure of being short staffed. The Chef obviously knows his game and I'd say he's at the top of it.

Came for a meal Sunday evening..Had the lamb roast dinner. Absolutely delicious. Staff very fast, efficient and very friendly. Would highly recommend and can't wait for a return visit
Food was excellent with all 7 different choices we had for mains looking great. Service was prompt especially considering the place was packed. My only (slight) criticism is that that starters are a bit on the large size. Overall a great evening 👍👍

We went for lunch yesterday avent been for a long while, we ad steak and ale pie which chips and mushy peas, and it wos beautiful but couldn't eat all of it as the pie wos to much for me to eat , but all home made food will definitelybe goin again but to try something different

Me and my friend both enjoyed the food it was nice to see there was a lot of choice for vegeterians as normally not all the pubs have this . The portions were big staff were friendly . Would definately recomend .
Had a 60th Birthday bash, i must say the staff, food and service was fantastic. A big thank you to Diane for looking after us.
We visited on a Sunday after a wet windy dog walk , we booked last minute, they were more than happy to accommodate us and found us a dog friendly table in the bar . We had the Sunday roast, it was absolutely delicious one of the best I have had , great potion size too , we orderd extra gravy, pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese, all of which were lovely . My only disappointment was I had no room for dessert 😕 next time we won’t order sides , the atmosphere was very friendly and cozy , great service too. We will definitely be back and would 💯 recommend . Great pub xx
We managed to get the last of the warm evenings a few weeks ago and sat outside this lovely pub.
The Camembert looked so good on someone else’s table we just had to try it and it certainly didn’t disappoint! The pickle it came with was sweet and was a great accompaniment with the cheese.
The fish finger baguette was perfect, chunky baguette and home made fish fingers!
Food was surprisingly expensive.
Portion size for Cheesy chips was very good and enough for 2 people which just about justified the £9.
Chicken fajitas was ok and cost £12.
Dogs allowed and nice pub and atmosphere. Very friendly staff.
Our 4th meal at this pub and as usual it was delicious. Highly recommend a visit here to sample the extensive menu . All cooked to order and plentiful, definitely our new favourite place to eat.
If you are hungry… come here! Big portions. Super quality tasty food. Lovely place. Busy, so book in advance for food. Service was very good. Will return to try more dishes. Chilli had a good kick. Plenty of meat in the pies. Chicken Shawarma Kebab was tasty too. Sadly no room to eat dessert. Highly recommended.
We visited for the first time yesterday and wished we'd found this place sooner! Staff were lovely and really accommodating, especially when I forgot to mention we were bringing our dog with us (oops) however they did some table shuffling and found us a space in the bar instead which we were grateful for. Food was excellent and could definitely recommend the roast dinner and the steak and stilton pie. Portions were huge! Will be coming back to try out more of the menu
This was our first visit, the food was excellent,just one minor blip on the service , I'm sure it was a small reaction to a request, the atmosphere was really good, we had the dogs with us and sometimes other owners are not sympathetic to others. But these comments are not a complaint. We will definitely return.
What a wonderful place on a sunny evening with your dogs. So much space outside to sit and eat. Two menus that provided so much choice and we were not disappointed when the food came out. It was absolutely gorgeous. 5 stars all the way.
First time at this pub me and my friend went last night we was amazed with the size of the portions and quality of food!
The pub is set in the countryside very cosy and the staff was lovely will definitely be going back as the menu had a great selection which we will be going through!
Just had a lovely meal here. Really fantastic food, absolutely top quality.
My wife is dairy intolerant, and staff could not have done more to cater for her. Including offering off-menu foods and altering menu choices to help.
Service was second to none.
We will definitely be back soon.
