First visit to the Stour inn and first impressions very good, the guy behind the bar very nice and helpful, the pub is nice, real traditional feel. The drinks and food are a lot cheaper than the crown just down the road ! We both enjoyed our burgers and chips both delicious and would highly recommend. The only let down was the coleslaw, see photo, it was brown lettuce mixed with carrots, onion and salad cream , disgusting! I did speak to the very young waitress and she went off and spoke to chef and came back with a bowl of white cabbage coleslaw and said sorry, after we had finished are food. We expected the sorry but, come on front of house, the duty manager should have sorted this not a 15 year old and why serve second rate food anyway, we did say sent the chef out but clearly didn’t want to face us. We will come back because everything else was good .
The current landlord has absolutely transformed this pub . Friendly welcoming, service was amazing and the food was amazing highly recommend a visit
I can honestly say my partner and I have just had the best roast dinner we’ve ever had. Being vegetarian we don’t usually bother to go out for dinner in Dorset as we’re often given bland boiled veg. The chef, Adam, and staff at the Stour Inn went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we could possible want (crispy potatoes, garlic greens, cauliflower cheese, HUGE yorkshires…). Staff were so friendly and the pub has a wonderful atmosphere. We’ve already booked again for next weekend. Thank you!!

Visiting the area on holiday.
We have eaten in a few places and we were looking for a quiet place for an evening meal. It’s a nice pub with a good atmosphere. Staff were friendly and polite.
Between my wife and I we have over 50 year’s catering experience and would like to leave an honest review.
First impressions were good.
Food - starters were presented well and were very tasty. However it did take over 30 minutes to get them.
What appeared was a lack of experience and management out front. Main course took a further hour plus to arrive. It’s always frustrating to see later arriving tables being served before you.
Please take this feedback as it is intended, it is not criticism, but hopefully it will help your business grow.
What I feel is needed is a clear person in charge front of house. Don’t let the waiting staff tell the customer of the problems in the kitchen. Deal with it in a professional manner.
If you offer wine can it please be in a printed format not on an IPad.
When you clear starters replace the cutlery. I should not have to ask.
To the chef, your food is excellent, but you probably need help at busy times. If the kitchen is struggling to cope offering free deserts is nice but not helpful as it is further work for you. That’s where front of house should be taking control.
I’m still going to give a high score as you have such fantastic potential.
Excellent food, attentive service, and a brilliant atmosphere. The menu has a good amount of choice and the dishes seem to always be adapting. The food has to be some of the best in the area, and the staff are genuinely interested in feedback. An excellent range of drinks and several regularly changing guest beers. Very happy to have the Stour Inn as one of our local pubs.
Best battered fish & chips I’ve ever tasted! Friends with me said their food was fantastic too! Compliments to the Chef & his young assistant who took the time to come to our tables & check out our comments on the cuisine. We will be eating at The Stour again… and again…. Recommend Cider & Shandy as a refreshing beverage on a hot summers evening. Lovely! 💕 Great Service 👍
The pub, under new ownership, is absolutely outstanding. Wonderful flavoursome, carefully crafted and delicious food made by a talented chef, who is passionate about where his ingredients come from, and who checks on customers, and wants to get it right.
Absolutely cannot recommend this pub enough- great beer too- I send my Bnb guests here too.
Brilliant service from all with an owner very concerned for the customer experience. All criticism taken on board and meals presented beautifully. Couldn't knock the service and food for the price. When I found out the owner also owned another couple of pubs that I'd had the pleasure to experience a few years before, my worries for what the food would be like was no more. Exceptional.
Food was absolutely phenomenal, the steaks were perfectly cooked and service was fast and professional. Adam is an excellent chef!

This pub is a credit to blandford now and then. I lovely place to visit to anybody that comes to blandford, its a lovely find and anybody that doesn't make it here has missed out tremendously. Either by speaking to the staff or locals that frequent the establishment. The food, refreshments or just looking at the photos of the past on the walls. A place that you will come back to time and time again, lovely 😍
Re-opened pub now as a Free House. Best range of beer in town at low prices with a proper pub atmosphere. Close to the centre of town. Good food and plenty of room in the garden. Free parking out front. Helpful staff.
Nice place. We had dinner in the cozy garden. Came just as the kitchen was opening and waited almost an hour for food. That was ok. Wery good burgers and fries. Had expected that we could have english traditional food.

First time visiting since new management and now a free house which is a bonus.
Nice food but for me I'm gutted what they've done to the beer garden,it used to be a beautiful garden with well spread out tables where I spent many an hour cycling up for a beer to sit in lovely garden,now a lot more tables and not so inviting😒
Now the Stour is a free house there’s a nice range of beers to choose from, not only that, but they’re reasonably priced too.
Pints from Vocation and Cloudwater have been unheard of in Blandford 😀
Burgers 🍔 🍟 and fries were really good. I was recommended to eat here and warned they are a little on the pricey side but they certainly were worth it.

Incredibly attentive, sweet, polite and professional staff. Incredibly enthusiastic and willing to go the extra mile. On top of that, the roast the chef cooks up is the best I have ever eaten in my life. This man clearly takes real pride in his work and it shows. Thank you

A group of 5 of us and a dog visited on the 15th July 2023 to eat. We started with the blue vinyl panna cotta and English breakfast scotch egg. Both the starters were superb
For the main course, 4 of us had the special which was fish pie and one had the burger. Apparently, the burger was really good. The fish pie was definitely the best fish pie you would ever have. It was just choked full of different fish topped with piped mash potato. To finish off, I had the chilly and chocolate brownie. Again, it's probably the best desert you could ever wish for. The ales on tap were from independent and local breweries, and it was a delight to try the different ones. The service was from young and newly trained staff supervised by I think the new landlord/owner who was tentative and informative explaining the dishes prior to ordering. The chef also came out to check that customers were happy with the food, and of course, we were all 100% delighted. We can all whole heartedly recommend the stour inn and its staff, food, ales, and service. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 . I am so looking forward to visiting them again with other friends so they too can experience the best place to dine in Blandford Forum
I can honestly say that the food produced by Adam ( the Chef) is definitely on a par with the food served on the Orient Express, thank you, absolutely delicious, will definitely recommend and return
