We havent been here for 6 yrs since having our little boy and moving away but yesterday was our 12th wedding anniversary and decided to come back here for a meal and as usual we wasn't dissapointed , the food is amazing and absolutely delicious and the staff are so friendly, we were surprised that the manager still remembered us. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
This ranked number 2 on Trip Advisor Indian restaurants so we went to seek it out. It is a little hidden gem up some stairs on Topping Street. The food was amazing - massive portions too - we couldn't finish it all! The staff were very friendly and welcoming too. Highly recommended 8^)
The best Indian food EVER!!!! It's always a pleasure to return. Meals like that are worth travelling 2 000 kilometres for. Very nice people there and the greatest food you can imagine!
This is one of the best Indians in town live food great portions, best service and Sammie soooo nice thanks for best nite we will be back soon x
Great meal as always with the family last night. Thanks Sammy and staff for the great service. The new flooring looks great.
Just a really good, traditional Indian restaurant. A friendly greeting, attentive service, good food, great value. Open late, so ideal for a meal after a show. Short walk from the Winter Gardens. What's not to like?
If you are in Blackpool and want to eat at an Indian then this is the restaurant to visit. We love the food, portion sizes and prices.
The food was brilliant and toppped with brilliant customer service. Can not recommend this place enough suitable for families and a group of friends too, very reasonably priced.
Best curry house in Blackpool
Walked in at 12:25am on a sat night thinking it was too late for a sit down meal but the staff was so welcoming. Sammy recommended some fantastic dishes, authentic tasty Indian food. Bombay potatoes 👌🏼😋will def be going back.
Came on Monday night with my boyfriend for the second time and both times we were happy with the meal and we couldn't eat it all soo took it home for tea last night. Friendly staff, they made time to talk to us. When it come to paying they gave us a drink on the house which was very nice of them. Will be making a regular thing of going when we're over :)
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Starters and mains and side sauces were lovely!
Were recommended mango or pistachio Kulfi, an Indian ice cream. Mango was nice.
Great food!! Great service!!
Nan was rather filling but the lamb curry was awesome, nice and tender. Chicken basmati rice was good but chicken was abit hard. The papadam and four different sauces was good too! To end of our meal we had the kulfi ice cream mango flavour which was delicious!!!
As an eastern eu guy living in Halifax area ppl would say i dont have a lot to say abaut currys, but after 8 yrs in UK i had my share of it and if someone had told me i would have one of my best currys so far in Blackpool i wouldnt belive him. Try it out u will nor regret it at all
What a nice jem of a place! Came after a quick Google search and the reviews are not wrong. Had a lovely welcome from the owner who also took our order. Whilst it was cooking he stayed and had a nice chat with us and then the food came out which was fantastic. My Jalfrezi was nice and hot and a lovely puffy naan just how I like them. We came late so the restaurant was quiet but he showed me videos of busy nights and the atmosphere looked amazing. Very nice meeting the owner Sami who posed for a photo and thank you for the nice brandy when we finished. Top marks mate 💯👍🏻
We went in for take away. This place has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It is a hidden gem. The food was outstanding. I cannot fault one bit of it. Highly recommended and when we visit Blackpool again we will be back in for a sit in meal.

Superb, unostentatious Tandoori restaurant that offers authentic Indian food. This place was recommended to me by the good folks of "Cask and Tap" next door, otherwise I might not even have considered it. The "front" looks modest indeed and not terribly inviting (they offer a delivery service, maybe the focus is on THAT), and the restaurant facilities inside are basic.
OTOH the staff are extremely friendly and forthcoming, and very DIRECT: I wouldn't have been surprised had they inquired about my bowel movements, too. They will provide you with any information about the various regional dishes on offer (some of which I'd not heard of), and in the nicest way. Naturally, the selection of drinks isn't very good when it comes to beer.
My choices were "Beef Madras" and "Lamb Vindaloo", which I expressly asked for to be prepared at "authentic" levels of spiciness. Not sure they actually did that (who can tell), but the dishes WERE the spiciest I've had from an Indian restaurant yet. But they were also delicious, full of flavour. Ordered some very nice Naan on the side. As expected, I suffered the repercussions of such spicy food later that night, but it was totally worth it.
Superb service right until I left. HIGHLY recommended if you're looking for great Indian food and don't care for luxurious facilities - they are perfectly comfy though.
Updated Sept 23, great food, great service and good atmosphere.
Akash Tandoori restaurant is one of those places you walk past during the daytime and never notice it's there. That's a big mistake. This venue serves some of the nicest food I have tasted. Lots of flavours and cooked piping hot.
Staff are pleasant and polite, venue is clean and tastefully decorated.
On this occasionI i had, poppadoms for starters with 4 different sauce dips all full of flavour, for main the Tandoori chicken which came on a sizzling plate on a bed of onions, pilue rice, curry sauce, fries and a garlic nan bread.
All the food was full of flavour and tasted really good. Definitely worthy of the 5 star review.
Staff are very respectful and time their visits to your table without it being obtrusive.
From street level you have to take a flight of stairs up to the restaurant. Most of the seating is set out so you feel as if you are at your own private Booth but they also cater for larger parties which is more open. There is also a bar area with a good selection of wines and beers. Toilets are up another level of stairs so the only downside is it's not really suitable for disabled or impaired walking.
Taxis can be called via the restaurant or easily obtained within a 2min walk around the corner.
If you like Indian food then you need to try this place out on your next visit to Blackpool
If this review was informative enough for you give it a thumbs up or like to let other know about the place.
We tried dinner here during our visit to Blackpool, the restaurant staffs are friendly and service was good.. we tried paneer tikka, chicken tikka, egg masala, veg karai, chicken Biryani, roti and garlic naan, butter naan and mango lassi.. all the items were good except Chicken Biryani.. the Biryani was not good and mango lassi was not as expected..
Excellent food. Some of the best ever and good portions. Beer also at acceptable cost not the eye-watering costs you sometimes find. Anyhow brilliant food.
Heard about this restaurant from the Cask and Tap next door, glad I did great food and staff, I was up from Derby for football and went here after the match, 1030pm. I had a mixed kebab starter, chicken kharahi, mushroom rice and a keema nan, washed down with a pint of Cobra, really enjoyed it, I will be back.
Edit... I can't really comment on the atmosphere as it was late evening on a Tuesday and there were only two other people in.
Always have a curry at Akash while visiting Blackpool and we are never disappointed. Lovely food, great service and reasonable prices. Best curry house in Blackpool by far
Tried the restaurant because of the their high-rating and it was mesmerising. We ordered the Lamb Tikka Curry with Special Fried Rice and Prawn Biryani. Both dishes are very delicious but I believe curries are their main specials. The lamb was super tender and melted in your mouth. The owner and staffs are friendly as well. Totally worth the visit and recommended.
Without a doubt some of the most amazing food we have had in the UK and Ireland in the past 3 months on our travels. The service was attentive, friendly and comforting. The food was exceptional. From the Nann bread to the Prawn Vindaloo, the Lamb Tikka Masala and the beautiful dips and poppadoms. In Blackpool for 3 nights and we had dinner 2 nights here. Excellently seasoned, good portions and without a doubt great value for money. We are both in hospitality and we can say with full heart....Well done to the guys front and back of house.....you are a credit to yourselves and the hospitality industry. When the "Happy smiling Australian and the Irishman" come back this side of the world we will absolutley be coming in for a bite to eat. Good on you guys.
My word..... We went in late last night as it was our last day in Blackpool and were greeted by very friendly staff. We had a good chat about the football with a beer whilst the food was being cooked. The portion sizes are amazing and the flavor is awesome. Absolutely delicious food. I definitely recommend and we will definitely be returning the next time we're in Blackpool. If the staff at the restaurant are reading this, cheers guys for the food. We look forward to seeing you again. Oh, by the way, we did manage to eat it all, not sure how, but we did. 🤣🤣 Take it easy. #Arsenal #Plymouth #Southend 👍👍
Had a really lovely meal here and a great laugh with the staff. Curry was delicious as was the mushroom rice. Husband loved the keema nan.
Absolutely phenomenal food
No complaints at all, quality food excellent service and well worth a visit
Nice place. Decent but not very very good looking. But the food and staff are great. The staff are really helpful and cheerful. The menu is good and the prices are pretty reasonable. Would love to visit this place again for sure.
Excellent food, very good service in a sensible unpretentious restaurant. I will be going back and strongly recommend. Very friendly and pleasant experience
Rolled up to the outside looking a bit grubby and thought this doesn’t look so good, but don’t be put off by the exterior, the food n service was great all the staff where really friendly and nice we ended up being the last in before closing and ended up talking to the owner about all sorts of things, all the dishes where piping hot and tasted lovely and fresh! Highly recommend!!! Defo somewhere ide return to!!! Derby!!
Superb service and very good food thank you, the vegetarian Vindaloo and sag paneer were delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the left overs the next day. Am I the only one whole loves cold curry? This is a well established business and was recommended by mine host George, from the Albert Hotel, who incidentally runs a real ale bar.
Must return to the Akash too, thanks 😊😋
