We visited last night and had a super evening. We booked although probably didn't need to as it was fairly quiet. On Mondays you can take your own wine with no corkage charge which we did. Given the cheapest bottle of wine is almost £18 it's worth doing. We considered a starter but decided against in case it took the edge of our appetite. Good decision. We both had mains of cheese and onion pie which came with a salad but we ordered regular chips as a side which probably really should be included as at £3 portion it bumped up the price to over £16 each. You might say this was expensive for essentially "pie and chips" and I can't argue otherwise except to say we agreed it was absolutely delicious. Each pie would really have served two people and was packed full of tasty cheese and onion filling. The pastry was yummy and it was all freshly cooked. We were very very full but I am embarrassed to say I succumbed to a Sicilian lemon sponge with ice cream. As with the pie it had been freshly cooked and resembled a soufle the way it was served. Again it was delicious my only issue was the meagre measure of ice cream - it warranted 10 times the amount! They should have a bring your own cream night! The service was excellent from start to finish, friendly, polite and not overly gushing or intrusive. It's not a cheap night and probably could cost a lot more but we'll certainly return based on our experience.

We went for Mothers Day and we wasn't disappointed. There was 11 of us and we had no complaints. The food was fantastic and hot. The roast beef was the best I have ever tasted. Credit to the chef and kitchen staff. Our waiter for most of the time was a young chap called Joe. He went above and beyond for us. Nothing was to much trouble and he was very very polite. He was a credit to the team. My dad was gluten free and this was not a problem either and was well catered for. Will be back again for sure. Well done to Joe and the rest of the whole team. X

Great family Sunday lunch again at this place which is just a little too far away for us to visit as often as we’d like. Excellent food and beverages and spot on service from lovely staff with good attitude.

My husband and I got a voucher of a friend which had four restaurants to choose from and we chose this one so happy with our choice and that we've found this...I've had the best Sunday dinner ever! My husband also said he's not eaten food that good in ages ...and we've been to quite a few restaurants in our time ...also I never get a desert but I've had room for one today and that was delicious too! We will defiantly be back soon! X

Been for late lunch/early tea today and the food was fantastic - I had the Hake special and it was beautifully cooked and the mustard spuds were extremely yummy. My little boy polished off the fish pie too - lots of different fish and prawns, really tasty (I may have tried some ) staff really friendly and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere too x

A couple of weeks ago we were in dire need of a decent Sunday Roast. Manchester was off limits due to the current state of rail-specific doom, so we headed towards the Ribble Valley for guaranteed beef based happiness.

A starter of a Game Terrine followed by a pork dish (the description of which escapes me, but I did take a picture…) which was delicious with creamy mash and lovely salty gravy.

We came for lunch at this lovely country pub restaurant and I was blown away by the quality of the food and attentiveness of the staff. The chicken, bacon and leek pie was to die for and the portions were very generous. I had the fish pie which was full of flavour and proportioned perfectly. You could tell the food was fresh and home cooked. I look forward to coming back with my family and friends to spend my birthday meal. I definitely recommend a visit here.

Lovely drinks and food. The service is warm and the decor is really special. The views are also really stunning. Would definitely recommend! Not many vegetarian options on the main courses, but I had two delicious starters instead and was not disappointed!

First visit today to celebrate Dad's 87th birthday. The welcome was very warm from Cameron, who was friendly, attentive, and great with Dad. ❤️ The food was of a very high standard, delicious, and the plates were hot, which I would have given another 🌟 for if I could! Nice touch to have a small dessert served with a coffee. The flat white and creme brulee were both delicious. And they put a candle in Dad's and sang happy birthday to him. 😃 Highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed. Thanks once again to Cameron and the girls. ❤️ 💙 💜 💖 We will be back soon.

Cameron was absolutely brilliant and a credit to the pub, with great knowledge and recommendations. First visit and he couldn’t do enough to make sure enzo & ourselves were taken care of. The food was delicious, waitresses polite & efficient. Will definitely return & recommend to others with dogs/puppies!

Been a few times and the food is always great. My last visit we had the cheese pie and it had to be the best cheese pie I’d had in a long time! The venue is beautiful and clean and the staff are lovely. Would recommend.

This is such a lovely pub and restaurant and I intend to visit many more times in the future. You can stop by for just a drink and there's ample parking, plus if you sit on one of the benches at the top of the car park, there's a phenomenal view. If you choose to eat, the indoor dining area is extremely elegant, plus there's a nice outdoor area which can be covered in bad weather. Food portions are generous and very tasty. An allergen menu is available, which is fantastic! My only comment would be that there could be more vegetarian choice for main courses. However there are several suitable starters, so my daughter just chose two of these and had them as a main. Great value for money given how smart the surroundings are - I would heartily recommend!

We went to Clog & Billycock for Sunday lunch & it was lovely with great service! I’d say it was slightly expensive when compared to places in Manchester City Centre for a roast but the portion size was massive!
