We came here last night after the food being recommended. It certainly beat expectations. The pub is lovely and clean, the staff were friendly and happy to help, the menu was great. Then came the food, beyond perfect melt in the mouth steaks cooked to perfection the sauces were to die for too. Can not wait to come back again!!
First time we have been here and from the lady who showed us to our table (the best spot in my opinion - right next to the fire!), to the lady that attended to us during our meal to the food itself - we couldn't fault any of it. We will be returning in the future to sample the other options from the menu - we strongly recommend the sticky toffee pudding!
Excellent meal here with my wife last night. So good we booked for her 65th birthday party.
Service was also excellent with both bar and restaurant staff being very friendly and efficient. Nice range of beers.

Beautifully decorated, friendly staff, I had the fish dish for starters and it was even better than the hotel we stayed at in Torquay. We had a meal for mine and my wife's fifth wedding anniversary. We will return without a shadow of a doubt.
Well my first visit was long overdue so off we trotted for a lunch
On arrival the fire was well and truly alive and was very welcoming
Great choice of ales from the thwaites range
Menus were placed on table for us to peruse over and the fish of the day was explained to us
So choices made
Starters
1 crab tian,1 beetroot risotto and 1 seafood tempura
Mains
1 pork belly , 1rack of lamb and 1 steak and kidney pudding
Puddings were
2 Lemon and lime creme brûlée and 1 sticky toffee apple pudding
The crab needed a cracker or bread that was the only issue with the food and one of the servers decided to place the mains cutlery down on the table while we were eating the starters .... little niggle as this could of waited
Will I return YES you bet your last dollar I will , so much so that I’ve already spoke to others about Dates they are free to go

Fabulous welcome and gorgeous food. A lovely menu that inspires you to try things a bit different. Thoroughly enjoyed the flat iron steak from the October specials menu which was highly recommended by the very knowledgeable staff. Very tasty tempura seafood starter and a very nice merlot meant that i didnt manage to fit in a desert which looked very tempting. Hoping to go back soon to try more.

We go every year for our wedding anniversary and its very nice, all staff are lovely and very helpful and friendly, its the perfect place to go for a special occasion. The food is excellent looking forward to go again this year !

Nice room and good food for dinner and breakfast. All of breakfast needed to be ordered - there is no buffet. Our bedroom faced the village church, whose bells sound every 15 minutes.
Can't comment on rooms as visited for a meal everything was OK but my brother in laws drink order was got wrong twice. Although the person offered to change it who served us he declined the offer. So I would have given a better service rating for the service. He ordered IPA, and was served the wrong brand both times
1st time here ,but will definitely be returning. Went with my friend who's in a wheelchair , the staff couldn't have done anymore to help us , as in opening doors ,offering us a ramp if we wanted to eat in the restaurant etc.. Food was very good and a great price.
Lovely place in a nice quiet picturesque village, staff were great, helpful and friendly. The food is excellent with a good choice at breakfast and also at evening meal in the restaurant with a very good selection of drinks from the bar. We really enjoyed our stay.
A lovely little individual hotel, with nice rooms and helpful staff. It has a mixture of holiday makers, like me and my son, and people on work visits in the area. Better than a Travelodge, less than a Hilton. 5 out of 5

I love staying at the Millstone. I stayed there 3 times. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is kind and efficient, the food at the restaurant is delicious, seasonal with a great selection of wines and reasonably priced. The rooms are quaint and cosy with comfortable beds, quality furniture, and very clean. The breakfast is generous and very good. I can't wait to stay there again!

I'd like to thank the kitchen and staff for accomodating my being vegan. There was no fuss about it and the dish (vegan curry) was very satisfying.

My sister and I went here for lunch this week, and it was absolutely fantastic. I had the chicken Caesar salad, it was the best I've ever eaten.

Really enjoyed our overnight stay here. Very friendly & helpful staff. Good menu choice for both dinner & breakfast, both of which were very good. Lovely atmosphere in bar area. Room was excellent. Good location. Highly recommended.
