Fantastic home cooked food. Good price and good portion. Very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit. My daughter asked when we would be coming back!
Good food. If you like steaks I would definitely recommend the Ebor. Sunday lunch good too.friendly staff. Beers reasonably priced. Been he several times. Will be back
Superb place, very friendly, fantastic selection of ales and lagers. Cannot recommend this place enough
The Ebor is the best pub in Bishopthorpe for serving excellent reasonably priced home cooked food & drinks. The service is brilliant from Gordon & his staff, particularly Chris. How does he remember everyone's orders without writing them down?! We always call in when at our boat or in the York area. They always try to accommodate you but would recommend booking as it does get extremely busy. 🍽
Had a lovely meal last night, group of 4 lovely steak and garlic king prawns. Homemade chips. Delicious. Highly recommend
Went this evening for a meal as soon as we got here we were given a verywarm welcome the food was amazing so tasty and decent size portions home cooked bit didn't have to wait ageseven though the pub was packed will definitely becoming back
Came for a meal on Xmas Eve with the family - hubby works here and raves about the food. We were not disappointed - turkey dinner, braising steak, lamb shank and steak and kidney pie - all fantastic. Plenty of accompanying veg, so much we had to send some back, and the meat was cooked perfectly. Rounded it all off with some of the tempting desserts, jam sponge and the raspberry and prosecco cheesecake. Delicious. Need to persuade him indoors to take us more often
Lovely welcoming place and wonderful food. The steak and kidney pie was the best I've ever had! I would highly recommend it.
1st visit.amazing food&big portions.i had the 4 cheese lasagne.loved it here.highly recommend a visit
Really nice home cooked food and plenty of it. Lovely large beer garden. Great service from staff, we will definitely be eating here again on our next visit to the in laws.
We go here lots of times on weekends when we are at our caravan, food is first class and always plenty of it on the plates and drinks excellent. The staff are brilliant and they always find a place for you to sit for food
Proper old fashioned Sam Smith’s pub, recently reopened after three year closure. Dark Mild at 2.40 a pint a steal. No phones or music allowed, just chat and good company.
New landlords proper pub people serving a great range of beers.
Fantastic place. They were able to cater for 6 adults, 2 of which are in their 90s, and 2 young children. Considering they were full, they were able to cater to us efficiently and everyone loved their food. Great portion sizes and the Sunday dinners were beaut. We will be going there again for future family get-togethers!
Such a lovely, cosy pub. So glad it’s back open. Fantastic new landlords. It’s been missed
Loved it!! Food was fab and loads of it!! Loved the 2 barmen. They were friendly and you could have a laugh with them! Well recommend this place.
Superb restaurant. It was so warm and cosy and it just felt like sitting in someone's lounge for dinner. Very warm and attentive staff. Food arrived warm and in good time. Portions were massive. Great selection of beers and ales. Very very reasonable prices also. So pleased. Will go again. Picture is of the fisherman's platter.
Amazing atmosphere and marvellous staff. Friendly and welcoming.
First meal out after lock down of 4 months and it was certainly worth it. Staff are always lovely and professional, wide open spaces in the beer garden to sit and enjoy the fresh air and food has always been spot on
Very nice burger, chips were lovely and the homemade coleslaw was beautiful. My wife had the lasagne with chips and salad and that was also very very nice. Would recommend. Will definitely visit again. We ate it in the lovely very large rear garden which is ideal for children too.
This place serves fantastic food kids menu available, very varied menu at good prices, large portions so be hungry!! Lots of drink options. Wonderful beer garden and a play area for kids.
Staff are friendly overall I would highly recommend a visit.
We stay at the caravan site by the river often and The Ebor is our local when go.
I love this pub. Sam Smiths ales, very good food with generous portions, lovely fire in the middle of the dog-friendly room. In the summer the beer garden is fantastic. The staff are excellent. Well worth a visit or 10!
