Lovely little tea room surrounded by beautiful countryside walks. Delicious food, lovely staff and a great place for lunch. I had the Croque Madame, which came with a yummy salad too.

Lovely atmosphere and food. Very friendly and polite staff, I went there with my brother, we go out one day a week, and are always looking for somewhere different to go. So far this was the best place we have gone to. Would definitely go back there and would highly recommend.

Our first encounter with a British café resp. breakfast. The granola was very sweet compared to a German one, but very tasty. The full English breakfast was delicious. The interior is beautifully decorated and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable so we can really recommend this place.

Good service and the scrambled eggs on toast were perfectly cooked. English Breakfast Tea was a bit disappointing, one tea bag didn't make it strong enough. No cafe would dream of serving instant coffee, so why is weak tea-bag tea accepted? I knocked one star off for that, but others very highly recommended. A friend had the full English breakfast and said it was very good.

Delicious nutritious food served in a fun and relaxed atmosphere popular with morning dog walkers and ramblers. It's a great destination after a winter walk along Happy Valley as my dad used to call it from Bridge past the Pig Hotel and then onto Bishopsbourne and its associated authors like the Polish Joseph Conrad who lived in the house next to the church, or a visit to the Mermaid inn, by the old forge! Breakfast is table service with granary toast, there's an onsite farm shop as well as an artisan bakery too, as well as a dog groomer and a marble stone factory. The restaurant is a converted cow shed, something of a design classic, I'm assuming it's called Tadpole due to its proximity to the Nailbourne river that flows past the bottom of the field near the back of the farm! Bishopsbourne is a historic village located in Kent, England. It has a rich history dating back many centuries. While I can't provide information on specific inhabitants beyond my last knowledge update in January 2022, I can give you a general overview of its history. - Early History: Bishopsbourne's history can be traced back to Roman times when it was part of the region's extensive road network. The village's name is derived from "Bishop's Bourne," which indicates its connection to the local bishopric. - Medieval Period: In the medieval period, Bishopsbourne was a small agricultural settlement. The local church, St. Mary's, dates back to the 13th century and is a significant historical landmark. - Archbishop Thomas Becket: One of the most famous figures associated with Bishopsbourne is Archbishop Thomas Becket. He was the Archbishop of Canterbury and was murdered in Canterbury Cathedral in 1170. Becket had a residence in Bishopsbourne, and his presence left an indelible mark on the village's history. - Literary Connection: The famous author Joseph Conrad lived in Bishopsbourne in the late 19th century. He wrote some of his most notable works, including "The Secret Agent," while residing in the village. Bishopsbourne's history is closely tied to the broader history of Kent and the archbishops of Canterbury. It has seen various inhabitants and events that have contributed to its historical significance. If you're interested in specific famous inhabitants beyond 2022, you may want to consult more recent sources or local historical records.

Very lovely, with a choice of tea suppliers for those that care about such things. Beware that hot food etc only available 'till 3pm but cakes etc available' till closing time. The mint rocky road is a fine innovation.

Just returned from a wonderful lunch. I had a delicious croque-monsieur type sandwich which was the special. It had mushrooms and a rather tasty béchamel sauce. The chef even put a fried egg on top, which was a special order! The waiting staff are wonderful. A five star review from me!

I enjoyed my visit today despite the limited menu. I can't make up my mind if you do table service or counter service because I sat down but three people were served before me because they cake to the counter. What I had was lovely and I would recommend perhaps you should number your tables and serve from the counter. Thank you for a pleasant break

Lovely stop off for walkers and cyclists. Its obviously not open as it normally would be, due to Covid, but still serving hot and cold drinks, sausage rolls, Scotch eggs etc. There's also a small selection of chocolate bars and biscuits. Nice space to sit and eat outside.

The hot food (buttery sausage sandwich on good bread) was nice but coffee and brownie not good. Oat milk over frothed and bubbly for cappuccino, it’s possible to get a smooth froth if you get a good brand so not sure what they’re using. The brownie wasn’t very nice and didn’t seem like it was made with good quality ingredients, crazy considering they have the amazing Gilda bakery next door that they don’t stock their products.
