Got a recommendation for this spot by a friend. All I can say is wow, the food is out of this world good! I’ve eaten at a lot of places and this place was quality. The steak was perfection (and that’s difficult to find). Everything was perfect.
Staff were all lovely and helpful.

My recent visit to Butcher and Grill in Bishops Stortford was simply phenomenal. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting ambiance made us feel right at home. But it was the exceptional service and attention to detail that made this experience truly unforgettable.
To start, we ordered the scallops which were cooked to perfection, and the flavors were expertly balanced. For our mains, we ordered the fillet steak and ribeye steak, and they were simply divine. Each cut was cooked to perfection and had a unique flavor profile that we absolutely loved. The creamy mash and tenderstem broccoli sides were the perfect accompaniment to our steaks, but the true standout were the Parmesan truffle fries, which were an absolute game-changer.
To cap off the meal, we had the pleasure of celebrating my partner's birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. From the decorated table with balloons and a card to the birthday song sung by the singer that night, everything was perfect.
Overall, the entire experience at Butcher and Grill was impeccable. The food was outstanding, the service was exceptional, and the attention to detail was second to none. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a top-notch steakhouse experience.
I visited in December and had a very good meal. Whilst I didn't go for the steak, my food was delicious and the steaks my friends had were very good.
The building is very well set out and tastefully designed was was the case before B&G took over and it was The Villa. Service was very good, good value for money and a lovely ambiance.
We are looking forward to visiting again.
We went for dinner last week with a friend and our daughter after having been twice before. The service is always super friendly and polite. The food is fantastic and cooked to perfection. Just this one time my husband T bone was overdone instead of medium rare, but he mentioned it and in no time he got a different steak cooked as we like it. We weren't treated differently for sending it back, which sometimes makes you feel nervous as no one wants to make the chef feel bad but as we were paying over £30 for a stake we felt it was fair. It was the last T bone so we were offered an alternative that was delicious. We can't recommend this place enough, and we will definitely come back!
The food was amazing! Also have a voucher for when we return. The waitress was lovely and chatty found things to talk about other than food which was nice. The only thing was it was a quiet Sunday so the atmosphere wasn’t great, but overall a great restaurant.
Came in for lunch and absolutely insane value for money, 3 courses for £19.95 and every course was delicious. Definitely will be come back, service was brilliant for Mandy. HIGHLY recommend!!!
Lovely meal at butcher and grill, staff really friendly and attentive. Steak was cooked to perfection, and the cookie dough was soooo good.
me and a friend came in for lunch on Tuesday. we was surprised by the lunch menu.. 3 courses for £20 amazing.. we have a shrimp for starter, steak & chips for mains & sticky toffee for desert.

Wonderful experience, great service. The food is delicious. Really recommend tuna ceviche and shrimp ceviche for starters.
