5 hygiene stars so a good start. Lovely vibrant green sauce with our poppadoms. It’s apparently coriander, ginger, garlic and green chilli. Delish. We ordered Thali and all the dishes were so tasty and fresh and light. It lives up to its high rating.

Superb food. Remains my favourite asian restaurant in Stortford, despite some strong competition. All kinds of subtle flavours coming through. Love the biryani and channa masala in particular. Everything well presented and served.

Really good meal at this excellent restaurant. I particularly liked the option to have a "Thali" style selection of the vegetable sides, that is a really good idea and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There's some interesting dishes on the menu (I had the Naga chilli beef curry which was excellent) as well as the "traditional" restaurant options. The service is very good and despite dining on a Saturday evening the service was prompt. Thoroughly recommended.

Without question the best vegetable dansak I have ever tasted. I went with friends midweek and the service and in fact every other dish was tasty and well prepared. I haven't been there for around 10 years but I now will return asap. I thoroughly recommend this owner run restaurant.

Really great, we've found a new family favourite Indian restaurant in Bishop's Stortford (after having a disappointing time at our previous favourite). When speaking with the staff, we were told that they have a new head chef as of around December 2022, so if you see bad reviews predating that, keep that in mind. Went early on a Tuesday evening and even so it was far from empty. I'd recommend booking ahead if you wanted to go at a busier time. The food and service was great, waiters were attentive but not overwhelming. That's probably amongst the tastiest lamb dansak's I've ever eaten (and I've had a lot). The others I went with all enjoyed their dishes too. It's not the cheapest in the world. 3 meals with drinks and a couple of smaller dishes for sharing came to just under £100 with tip. Given the quality though, that feels about right.

Last night, I had the pleasure of trying out Cafe Masala, an Indian restaurant located in Bishop's Stortford. Like many locals, I've sampled my fair share of Indian takeaways in the area, but Cafe Masala has quickly become my new favorite, thanks to a recommendation from my neighbor, Scott. The dishes I ordered were the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Tikka Patia, and I must say, they were absolutely delightful. Both dishes were authentically flavorful. The Chicken Tikka Masala was exceptionally creamy, without any trace of fat or gristle. It arrived piping hot, indicating the care taken in preparing and delivering the dish. The Chicken Tikka Patia was equally satisfying, boasting a beautiful blend of spices and tender chicken. I wholeheartedly recommend Cafe Masala to anyone in the Bishop's Stortford area. Whether you're a longtime fan of Indian cuisine or simply looking to try something new, this takeaway will not disappoint. I'm still reminiscing about the incredible meal I had last night, and I can't wait to place my next order. So, if you're in the mood for a delicious Indian meal, give Cafe Masala a try – you won't be disappointed. Good luck, and happy dining

We had an absolutely delicious meal on Friday night. We had two vegans in our group and the staff were incredibly helpful. They clearly genuinely cared about our experience and were able to recommend dishes, change the ingredients and offer alternatives so there were plenty of vegan options - from starters to mains. The food portions were generous and the staff friendly throughout. Thanks for a great time - we'll be back!

Beautiful, quality food. Arguably the best Indian in town. The chicken chettinad masala is the winning dish for me and the naans are amazing - light, tasty, and cooked to perfection. Staff lovely too!

I dined in at Cafe Masala for the first time a few weeks ago and was so impressed with the food I thought I’d try a take away, expecting the meat to be a little tougher and the food to generally be not quite as nice, but it way surpassed my expectations, it was very tender and full of flavour. This is by far my favourite Indian in Stortford!

This place did the best poppadoms I have ever had. 👍 Despite being a late walk in they took care of us. The food was lovely and the menu was interesting with dishes I hadn't seen before. Initially I thought the portions were a bit small but the dishes are deciding! We were stuffed! Car park to rear pay to park but free parking after 18:30 weekdays. Very easy access to railway station.

Good food and a lot to choose from. I dined with a group of 20, so service a little slower than I'd like but understandable for the group size. Good service. Will definitely go again.
