We had a breakfast in Hme and Eat early January as a Birthday treat. We took the dog (well behaved dogs are allowed). It was such a treat. The staff were marvelous, so polite and even bought a bowl of water over for the dog. The breakfast was lovely. The full English was a big meal and very good value for money. Lovely tea pot too, two full cups plus each 2 of us. Highly recommend this place for food and shopping.

We booked and took our toddler to see Santa, the staff were so friendly and Santa was outstanding with our little boy as he was shy. Santa’s grotto was stunning and I would highly recommend taking your little one. Thank you for making our little boys second Christmas that extra special.
Visited on a Saturday afternoon for Brunch with our medium sized dog. The staff were very friendly and also provided my dog with his own puppucino! We really enjoyed the double breakfast as well - we thought the food was perfectly cooked, well priced with great ingredients. Eccentric decor added to the fun atmosphere.

We recently had the pleasure of having a work team building day at Home and Eat, and it was truly fantastic. The venue provided everything we needed and more, with top-notch amenities and a quirky, creative atmosphere. The staff were polite, professional, and attentive, ensuring a seamless experience. The food was delicious, and the venue's attention to detail in decoration added to the informal and comfortable ambiance. The thoughtful décor, comfortable amenities, and friendly atmosphere fostered collaboration and creativity. It felt like a second home for the day, allowing us to focus on our objectives. Overall, "Home and Eat" exceeded our expectations and would definitely use them to host an event again.
Excellent place to visit such a relaxing atmosphere you won't feel out of place, whoever you are whatever you wear kids dogs all are welcome. Last time we went we had Sunday lunch, the best I've had in along time very good value. But also had breakfast several times or just coffee and cake always very good and always make a fuss of our dog.

Great food and lively place to eat. Only let down by the service. Half of the tables were empty of people but still had plates and cups on them. Broken glass on the floor which when we had a dog isn't ideal. Apparently it was from the night before gig/party? Couple Sat on an adjacent table waited 20 minutes to be given a menu. I had to ask the waitress for them as they were to polite to ask. Lots of staff chatting at the till whilst all this was going on. Food still great so we will be back. Hopefully they can learn from their mistakes. Also they could earn so much more if when people look in they are clean tables.
I met up here today for lunch with an old friend from Colchester, having met with her here once before. As it’s “dog friendly” I took my little Lakeland terrier x Kerry Blue terrier with me for some socialisation (since I live “out in the sticks” and she seldom sees “town life”). We had a great time - dog was well behaved and food was good as was service. Icing on the cake was when my little pooch was presented with a sausage on a plate - it went down a treat!! Definitely five stars!
Attended the new year eve's black tie party. The ambience was nice, good music, and food/drinks. I wish there was a bit more food option available.
Absolutely banging food. Came for lunch with my parents and had to try the salt beef sourdough special and I am so glad I did. Spectacular dish, indulgent coffee and super friendly service. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!
Great choice of food on the extensive menu, friendly service and good atmosphere. Not too expensive either - under £25 a head for 2 hot drinks, main course and dessert. Good sized portions too! Tasty.

Everything about H@me & Eat is great – the food, drinks, ambience – everything. However, what makes this place special is its staff. Example being - 2 weeks ago, I lost my bracelet, and after few days I thought maybe it might be at H@me & Eat – so I decided to call them. I spoke to one of the staff members (sadly I didn’t write down her name) – to whom I explained the situation. Usually people would just check the ‘lost items’ list – however she decided to ask every single person ‘did you find a bracelet last Friday?’ – I heard her asking this individually to at least 10 different people. I mean, she went out of her way to check with everyone. By that point itself, I had become a loyal customer to H@me & Eat – as I was completely moved by this gesture.
She was then kind enough to phone the Manager (Mark) and ask about it. Mark, who was on holiday informed her that he did find a bracelet and since he thought it’s valuable – he decided to keep it safe. I mean – I have seen and heard stories where one or two individuals would come together to help complete strangers. In this case, it’s the whole team collectively helping me.
Thank you so much to the entire team – you guys are Amazing! Thank you for being so kind and compassionate. Really means a lot 😊
The New Year Eve Party was amazing with the band playing the best of 50's and 60's songs. The food could have been better. But the desserts were excellent.
First time of visiting. Lovely, inviting atmosphere. Staff lovely and friendly. The cavery was lovely. Only a very small issue, food could have been a bit warmer, as some items were not hot. A bit of a wait to order puddings, but we were happy to enjoy the atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. 😊😊
My wife Jean and myself saw an Elton John tribute band at your place, we were greeted by Polly at reception and then taken to our table, the dj played our sort of music to build the atmosphere and when Elton came on the place erupted. An excellent night out, good food great atmosphere, definitely recommend the place. Brilliant. MICK.
