Popped in last night for tea & absolutely enjoyed it! I've never been disappointed when I've eaten here. The food is home cooked sourcing local produce with some cracking ales/lagers on tap to wash it down, with Bira Moretti being my favourite. The staff are as friendly as you'll find along with the locals, I'd highly recommend this pub to anyone. 5

A brrrrrrrilliant night at the Fleece on 23rd March . I organised a staff party (about 13 of of us) and Louise could not be more helpful. The food could not be faulted on taste or amount (loads). Also particular diets were catered for no problem . The staff could not do enough for us . Will definitely be back and would highly recommend .

I come to visit my sister who is next door. Louise, Russ, Louis, Claire and all the staff make you more than welcome. Busy lunchtime service serving food I have not heard complained about. Real beer a plenty. Cannot recommend this pub and it's staff more highly.

We visited here in January whilst staying at the nearby lodges for the weekend and couldn't fault a thing. Such a cute little pub and the food was delicious, definitely worth stopping by. Was by far the best meal of our trip!

A fantastic meal, just what you need on a snowy night, in front of the roaring open fire! Lasagne to die for and a beautifully filling Hunters Chicken! Would highly recommend!

Superb village pub. We were stopping at the nearby lodges in the village, and thought the pub opened at 5pm per the website, but arrived to find the pub shut at 5:20 (having walked up). The landlord was great in letting us come in, sit down and made us a free coffee each, that is not something you will see very often. The food was also of a very good quality. I had the chicken in tomato sauce which was lovely, and my wife the sirloin which was huge, but delicious. Definitely recommend.

We were in the area and called in to see if they had availability to serve four hungry people - Sunday lunch choice of three meats- we had French onion soup to start (excellent) followed by our choice of meat, roast potatoes and parsnips, fresh veg, proper Yorkshire puddings and lots of gravy (absolutely delicious) - too full for deserts. Staff were very attentive - excellent service alround pitty its not on our door step BUT we will go back (soon I hope).

Went for a meal last night while staying locally on our holiday and the food was excellent. Homemade pies made and cooked perfectly. The landlord keeps a good cellar and the Theakston went down a treat. Staff where very friendly and happy in their work. A lovely evening!

Wonderful pub with really friendly staff. We stayed for tea when we were on a three day hike. The food was lovely, the chicken and ham pie was marvellous, with chicken gravy which was outstanding! Will definitely come back to this lovely pub again when we travel through. Thank you!

Stayed there for a weekend, the landlord and landlady are very friendly, the pub is in a beautiful location and the food is very good. Breakfast is also excellent. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable with tea/coffee making kit. Would most definitely be my preference if I was touring in the area, nice beer garden.

A true East Yorkshire hidden GEM. I was doing a walk and we stopped in the village, we had pre ordered our food, but this did not take anything away from the quality of the service. We were welcomed on our entry by very attentive staff, who asked how the walk had been and answered every question asked by the group. The range of beers was good and reasonably priced. I had the Veltins and it was really nice. The food came out on good time after our arrival, I had a pie, chicken ham and leek and it was served with chips and the most delicious gravy, that given the chance I would have drank it. The pastry around the pie was beautiful and the entire meal was really really nice, all the food that came out was good. The pudding menu has a broad selection on that all sounded nice. I will go back and take the family there as it was that good

Quiet, nice a friendly pub, spectacular chips with gravy and cheese, despite being booked up for food they still didn’t let us go out hungry! Place is dog friendly and have nice yard in the back. Sizeable parking lot. Conveniently located just 5 minutes off main road!

Very friendly local pub. Very good priced food and drink for the area. Shame they now have very limited opening times during the week but given the rural area and the pressures on living standards it's to be expected. Will definitely be returning if back in the local area 👌

It's the best and only pub in town. Saturday nights are busy. Food is okay, some are dry. Drinks plenty. Friendly bar staff and waitresses.
